Hello,
My xperia ray cannot turn on.I cannot understand what happened.
My PC can recognize it , I have unlocked the bootloader and flash ICS firmware with FlashTool after it was dead. I can enter to fastboot mode but I don't know how to enter adb.
I think that some contacts inside the phone may not work , but I cannot figure out if it works and simply doesnot show anything or if it is dead.
I would like to give me some advices about what i can do .
Thanks you for your time.
P.S. I have no warranty.
Please give more details. Like is there any boot animation? Or can you enter recovery?

Are you sure that you have ICS kernel ???

OK. It doesn't show anything no bootimage no signs that it works.
The kernel must be ICS because I flashed it with success according to a guide I followed.
I think that the screen has been broken because when I press the power button and plug it in the pc , I wait for about 2min and the pc recognizes it as XPERIA Ray phone.
I need to know how to test if it works but does not show it on the screen or if i can do something to bring it back to 'life'.
If the PC can recognize it so you can flash firmware using flashtool and bring it back to life ..
download and flashtool "you can find it in a sticky thread here"
download original ftf file "you can find it also in another a sticky thread here"
put the ftf file in c:\flashtool\firmware
Run flashtool and then .. click flash button .. choose flashmode ..
choose the ftf file .. leave options as it is .. and click OK
wait until the flashtool extract the files and ask you to connect your phone..
make sure that your phone is charged and switched off
press and hold the volume down key and connect the usb .. happy flashing

Hey Guys
It seems that stupidity causes a lot of problems and that's what caused this one, so apologies in advance.
I recently got a Xperia S and flashed stable Cyanogen Mod 9.1
However due to a few small issues I was having I stupidly booted into CWM Recovery.
From here, not only did I wipe data and cache, but for some unknown reason I formatted the system partition.
Since this, I have been stuck at the Free Xperia Project logo.
I am able to boot into recovery, however when I try to flash the CM9 zip I get a Status 7 error..
I am also able boot into both fastboot and flashmode.
However when I try to use flashtool to flash a stock firmware I receive an error...
Start Flashing
Processing Loader
Checking Header
Ending Flash Session
ERROR
Error Flashing. Aborted

Furthermore, Flashtool does not recognise my device on either of my two PCs, even though I have installed all drivers from the flashtool foler, SUS, SPC and PdaNet. This requires me to select which device I just plugged into the PC manually in flashtool.
Sorry to be a massive pain (noob)
Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys
Use flashtool properly
Let flashtool prepare ftf press thunder icon etc etc....

Dun connect ur phone to flashtool till it says so
I think u r trying to start phone in flashmode by holding the vol down key and power button
That's wrong
All u have to do is go tp flashtool
Click on thunder icon
select ftf
Flash
Flashtool will now ask u to connect ur phone
So
Simply connect ur Xperia s to usb with volume down button pressed
Flashtool will recognize it and start flashing in a second or two
Now leave the volume down button
And let flashing b complete

I am using flashtool as you described.
The issue is that the firmware does not flash as seen by the error message I quoted.
Thanks for the help anyway, but im pretty sure im using the program correctly..
I once got the same error when I tried to flash my phone
At that time I tried to enter flashmode first then connect it to pc
Bt the fact is u need to need to connect ur switched off xperia s only by keeping the volume down button pressed
I think I cant convey properly what I mean

How can i solve my problem ? Thanx u

Thank you for your answer drsanket_xperia_u, but PcC doesn't view my device.
In fact, Windows can install ADB's drivers, but can't install MTP's drivers. And i can't flash any ftf because flashtools doesn't view my phone...

There's a small mixup The person who deleted his system Files is Fedex99.maazdraco just wants to flash a stock FTF
Maazdraco, go to the directory where you installed Flashtool. There's a folder called Drivers there. Run the file inside and select Flashtool,Fastboot and also the device drivers for your phone Then try again

No. No and No again Internet not required. Connect phone only when prompted. Mode required is Flashmode and I've shown below how to get to Flash Mode ( you need your phone turned off btw)
Ill quickly summarize
1) Start Flashtool
2) Click the Lightning icon then select your FTF
3) Exclude baseband if your device is STxxi and the firmware is for STxxa or viceversa
4) Press ok and start Flash. Then, after a minute or so, Flashtool will ask you to connect the device.
5) Turn off the phone. Connect the usb cable to the PC (not connected to Phone yet)
6) Holding down the "Volume Down" key, you connect the cable to your phone.
7) Give it a few seconds and a Green Light shows up. Then, flashing starts on Flashtool
8) Once flashtool starts flashing, you can stop holding down the Volume Key
9) Wait for the process to finish then unplugh the phone and turn it on
This should be clear enough. If you still have doubts, just reply here
Oh i see! Lol

Hello Experts,
I was trying to upgrade my xperia u to jelly bean via cm10. This is my first attempt on this and i hope i have bricked it.
This is the current status of my phone:
Phone Not Booting ! When i press power button, only vibrates once and never boots up.
Followed few older threads on this and tried with flashtool, phone connects in flash mode but flashing any ftf never succeeds. Error flashing. aborted everytime.
The last step i did before the phone went dead was : fastboot flash boot boot.img with FXP236-cm-10-20130910-UNOFFICIAL-urushi build.
The phone is rooted/bootloader unlocked(followed the steps from sony site)/Clockwordmod installed
This is the page which tempted me to go for the upgrade : androidlegend's "Update Xperia U ST25i to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean via Cyanogenmod 10"
Please please help me on this.
Yo you flashed the wrong cm for your device. The one you flashed is meant for another device the one you flashed is for XPERIA RAY
EDIT: The more I think of it, the more I think you hard bricked.

Have you flashed the file you are trying to flash before on the same PC?
I suggest you start repair with PC Companion, then when download is finished and it ask to connect in flash mode built the formware FTF with flashtool, and see if that fails as well.

I asked specific question for a reason, so please answer it.
Also if you have used PC Companion with your phone before there is no need for it to recogniise it or even be connected to begin repair.
And Xperia U is definately showing in SUS but you cannot use it because it would not even begin downloading for unlocked bootloader.

I suggest you start repair with PC Companion, then when download is finished and it ask to connect in flash mode built the formware FTF with flashtool, and see if that fails as well. => I tried repair with pc companion, once after step 2 to prepare computer for repair process it asks to select the phone and then it asks to connect the phone by pressing volume down, at this point it is not recognizing the phone being connected.
