Recently kibuuka recieved a new V, and it just so happened that it was loaded with 328.
With the info he has provided, I have apparently found that 328 is also available as a pkg.
Thunder_328_19208_16.pkg
Rom details:
Android 2.2.2/FRG83G
Build date: Fri Aug 26 20:54:27 CST 2011
Dell Stage 1.6
Region: 16 (NTT com)
There is no real reason to install this, this is merely an informational post.
The rom itself is over a year old, but it was previously unknown to us.
What abt the recovery for this rom? Can we use 325 or 328 recovery is available
Sent from my Dell Venue using xda app-developers app
No, they are the wrong regions.
I'll upload the matching recovery later, I merely havnt had the chance to get around to it.
<Dev Host>\Venue\328
Decrypted pkg and generated recovery image for it.
I dont recommend installing this if you are currently on a rom that has no pkg to return to.
Doubly I dont recommand installing it period, it's not a generic region rom like 00/30.

I honestly do not recall how I rooted the device previously. However, I do know that I tried in vain to root the device after the firmware update. I tried to unlock (I believe that is the correct term) the device using the HTC Developers website but I always get stuck on the last step.
I believe the last time I tried to unlock/root my device was back in January. Since it is basically June, I was hoping there have been some updates. I am not tech-savvy and the newbie guide seems a bit intense. Can someone walk me through, in layman's terms, what I can do to permanently unlock/root my device?
Inspired after finding the thread [ROM]Stock Deodexed Roms by TheManII, I went a hunting. (Props to TheManII for these files! ...though I'm sure he never intended them to be "Daily Drivers")
These are a find because they let you go back to stock(ish) with out having to flash the exact correct stock recovery first. (as they are zip files)
**WARNING**
These files could eat your cat if you chose to let it!

These are not necessarily the most stable/reliable roms, but they did the job for my purpose (namely, jumping back to Stock long enough to Unlock my phone.) ...I also did a factory reset, cleared Cache, Dalvek Cache. and fixed permissions just to be safe. I'll reapply the Nandroid backup after I'm done.
Sweet thanks!! So will this allow me to easily update my baseband?
Not that I'm aware of.

Hello,
I have problems with my new zenfone 5 bought yesterday, like whatsapp has no access to contacts, spam from badabe and mobo and i cannnot update the fw to actual one. I'm really confused because it says there is a firmware version 1.96.40.50 on it. See screenshot below. btw i bought the phone in malaysia. Does somebody know how to get fw 1.18 running?
Thank you!
Ok no screenshot but here are all information:
Baseband version
1428_1.4.31.2_0717
Kernel version
3.4.43-188799-g16e645b

Build number
Asus_t00f_ww_user_1.96.40.50_2019731_6736
Release-keys
SOLUTION
I found it on a russian Site (here should be a link, but nevertheless thanks to the 4pda.ru forum)
Simply download the FW UL_ASUS_T00F_WW_1_15_40_20_user.zip, extract it and rename the extracted zip to UL-ASUS_T00F-CN-1.97.50.60-user.zip .. important is the CN. Then transfer it to your root directory and it will instantly be recognized as system update. Thats it. Hope I could help some.

I contacted Alcatel regarding this and they are not able to direct me to a stock ROM. Just checking to see if anybody has had any luck, or can another model's ROM be flashed to fix these phones?

With only this, phone is not going to boot up for those who are coming from 3.10.49-g3d12fcb or before, you need 3.10.49-g5a229e7 kernel or better. So we request you guy to upload kernel (or boot) 3.10.49-g5a229e7 or better by uploading boot and modem partition who has build id M7JUAJ0 or better
