What's the deal with the storage on this phone? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Okay so I flashed jelly whizz today using safe strap 3.11 on ROM slot 1 using 2gb for whatever and 640mb for data or whatever..... Is this correct I'm not sure what's going on with my storage all of a sudden I have internal storage and sdcard0 and sdcard1? Its saying I don't have enough storage to install as game loft game? Is this safe strap related issue or what?

i have same problem! i installed d-wiz with bmm , on system 1 , and i didnt do anything on partition and other thing , but now when i'm going to file manager there isn't anything , i have to change access mode to root , then i can see my files on the internal storage
when i open camera app, there is a error said ' no external storage available! i have use sd-card , to open camera
there wasn't such a this problem in ics rom :-?

I'm new to safe strap 3 I wonder if when creating a ROM slot were supposed to do something special? I never had this problem on ics

how many slots have you created in ss3?
I only have one slot created and am currently using and my space usage is close to the same as yours.
Mine says about 2.7 GB of free space though.
Something is using a lot of space. Almost like you created another 2 GB slot and just not using it.

I created one 2gb slot in ROM slot 1.....idk whats causing this but it won't let me DL modern combat 4 cause insufficient space but it looks like I have enough? I think the fact that safe strap keeps your Og phone state backed up in case something happens on a ROM slot but still..... I was running arctic HD which I flashed using ss 2 and I had mc3 mc4 order n chaos and wild blood on that with no issue

Sent from my Motorola Galaxy s3 using Tapatalk 2

I have a new "ss" folder as you can see
In the screenshot it's 7.5gb and is a copy of my internal storage partition whats that about? Can I delete it
Sent from my Motorola Galaxy s3 using Tapatalk 2

If it were me I would wipe it clean and start all over.

That's what was needed something went wrong during the whole ss3 n flash I'm guessing....I connected my phone for mass storage to my laptop then all of a sudden my phone rebooted to my original state and my ROM slot 1 was deleted...... so re made slot and flashed now everything working fine thanks guys

[Q] How to make your Droid Razr faster after rooting? Adding more RAM?

Hello. I have recently rooted my Motorola Droid Razr (Original) on 4.0.4 ICS. The phone is running out of internal storage (RAM) and I am wondering: Are there any root apps that use SD Card Memory for RAM Memory? If there are, will it make my phone faster? Also, Do you know any other ways I can make my phone faster and run more smoothly? Thanks a lot!
install a custom rom. depending if you are gsm or cdma, search threads from development section
You should try Eclipse v1.4 smooth and fast

Okay I will! Thanks for replying
I'm a little bit confusing about your question.
Storage (can store data) and RAM (Random access memory) are different.

As said, internal storage is one thing, RAM is another. HARDLY you will need more RAM on Razr.
If you mean swapping, this makes no sense at all in a 1GB RAM device.

Exactly!!!
Razr1,
If you need more storage, just buy a 32gb micro SD card.
If you need more RAM, you will need to purchase SG3 or nexus 4 they both have 2gb RAM.

If you are talking about ram, the solution is a custom rom. If you are talking about storage you can find micro sd cards in amazon for a little price

Use zRam? I don't know...

I think Razr1 just wanted to speed up his phone , May be he didn't put his question technically correct.
There ppl using bionic even now with blazing fast speed ( in terms of performance not hardware) .
1. You can not add extra RAM on android by using storage ( like what u do on your PC by using ur USB disk to add on some more virtual RAM)
2. Whats slowing ur phone is bloat ware / unwated services etc.., just by rooting u cant kill em all. Use a custom ROM compatible with ur phone ( GSM/CDMA) these are Deodexed(helps modification/hacking), debloated, tweaked .
3. Once ur ona custom ROM you can make use of CPU governors to add that extra processing power wen you need them ( like playing games) warning : heating of ur phone & battery drain is a side effect wen u set a higher cpu speed.
Hope this clears your doubt.
The best way is to flash a CNA..

How to swap internal Sd to External Sd on i717 ics

Well you might need to clarify your question. What do you want to do, set up your phone so that everything save onto your external sd?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
Yes I want to swap my external sd as internal sd, So I can have much bigger space on my phone. As you know the phone recognizes only internal memory as phone storage not the Sd card. I saw a video toturiol on YouTube about Galaxy S3 but I'm looking for SGH-1717.

Post a link to the video tutorial and we can try and tell you if it would work for th note. eo

Thats the ticket Brad.....
Based on that script, it moves the extent of what the OS will allow.
System data cannot be moved, but application data can.
Even then, some apps will not run from external storage....
Good find .....g

[Q] Is the note 2 ever going to have multiple rom slots?

I know coming from the bionic, they had multiple rom slots with TWRP. Will this ever be possible with this phone?
Thanks

never heard of it
It's basically partitions out the internal card into however many slots you want, max is 4 I think. It uses 2gb per slot. Then whenever you want, you can go into TWRP and switch between roms.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
I've heard of it, as I had it on my razr hd. But I don't see why when you can just have backups its so easy and fast to just be swapping backups. That's normally what I would do when there is 2 roms that I like a lot.

I did, and it was great. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they support much in the way of Samsung devices at the moment. As of mid-November they were working on support for the GS3 but I don't know what's happened to that. Apparently Sammy's partition structures are annoying.

SD data disappears

OK I've tried googling and found a few things related to this but not for the fascinate. I use a 32gb SD card and from time to time files pretty much vanish and all that is left is what looks like the file but is 0 bytes. Its a real SD card a sandisk class 4. It happens on CM7 no matter what kernel I use. Cm9 and CM10 don't have this problem unless I try a custom kernel (devil kernel) then after about a day the files change to 0 bytes. Any ideas?

Bad SD card I would try a new one and faster one is recommended for custom ROMs class6+
Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk 2
That's the weird part about it is I can use my SD card in my Epic 4g and PC and it never does this. I switch between phones every now and then and the fascinate always gives me trouble after awhile. I was planning on buying a new card anyway, since most post online said that they just bought a higher class card and it was fixed. Hopefully a new card fixs it

If you are switching this card between devices when is the card being formatted? As in do you have the fassy format the card then switch it or is it being formatted by the epic 4g/pc/other? I would try having the fassy format the card from recovery and see if that does not make it more stable. Also like the others have stated it is recommended to have at least 6+ for card speed. Hope this helps
I try to format my card every once in awhile only because I copy a lot of seasons of TV shows to it. I have formated it on a pc, epic 4g and also have tried to have my fascinate format it but not threw recovery. I guess I'll give that a try when I get out of work. Thx! Fingers crossed....

Well its seems it did not help to format the SD threw recovery. It made it about twelve hours before data just vanishes only this time some file names were also messed up. Eh I guess mabey my fassy just hates the devil kernel. Stock kernal ain't bad so I guess I'm stuck with that lol. At least till I get newer SD card. Anybody know any good deals online for a 32gb class 10?

Apps 2 SD Failure

Ok im having this problem where apps 2 sd doesnt want to work for me.... check this image
But i do think huawei blocked move to sd feature.... so how do fix it new kernal?
Sent from my MediaPad 7 Lite using xda app-developers app
It's not a kernel thing. Your device has most likely has enough storage and ram to accommodate the rom, your stuff and storage for your apps. My device, GS3's and probably more really have no problem with this. My captivate on the other hand had such little ram and phone storage, the emmc chip was partitioned with 1.5gb of phone storage, 550 megs of rom storage and the rest USB(13gb or so) However moving apps also meant widgets wouldn't work. Hope this shines a little light on the situation.

Ok so is there any way of fixing that because i have a empty 16gb and the tablet holds 8gb and has like 3 mount points for the one sd card

I was checking out the s4 thread and they seem to use something called foldermount I haven't read that much on it but it might help you out. I also forgot my nexus doesn't have a external card like my captivate.
