[Q] Rooting Spain JB ROM - Just root. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I know theres alot of threads, and I could just use search function to achieve my results, but the point is that I would like to know a 100% safe method to root/unroot my phone and prevent yellow triangle/flash count..Any way to achieve that? If it comes with CWM would be great...But I don't want yellow triangles and such stuff..
Also, is it more worthing flashing only root or flash a Kernel for the spain rom? Which benefits will that bring me? Do i loose settings/apps applying a new kernel? Also, I will gain yellow trinagle because of this?

I just flashed dorimanx 7.45 through odin, and I have root access now.

YET AGAIN you're creating duplicate topics/not searching?!?!
Firstly there is 100% no such things a "100% safe".
Second I honestly cant believe you're asking such questions as "how do I root" and "how to remove triangle". These questions are totally ridiculous and will take you seconds to find the answers if you just looked.
To root your device flash a custom kernel in download mode(which one depends on rom you want to use)or use exynos exploit.
To remove triangle use Triangle Away app or downgrade bootloader to GB and use a USB jig.
To achieve the above all the info you need is easily available on forum.

[Q] Yellow Triangle at boot

First off I see on this forum that people freak the hell out when you post something that may possibly have been posted at one point in the past, so let me assure you I've searched this forum and the internet in general looking for help with this problem, and found nothing helpful.
I read the FAQ, and the sections here:
I've rooted now why do I have an exclamation point on my loading screen?
Anytime you flash a non-stock kernel in download mode this will appear.
Work around method by Entropy512 to eliminate the exclamation on boot screen

Which linked me to a page that said:
Flash the stock kernel using Odin or Heimdall. Since this kernel autoroots the system image, you'll retain root.

Where do I get a stock Kernel? How exactly do I do this?
Then the next step says something that is completely greek to me, it doesn't seem to have much to do with fixing the Yellow Triangle problem.
I also scoured the internet looking for a fix and most of it involves the International version of the phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd love to get rid of that annoying little triangle.
Try a jig

No, you clearly did not read the FAQ and all stickies in this forum as one should do whenever posting to a forum on the Internet, since not only is your question answered in the FAQ, there's an entire guide as a separate sticky post at the top of this forum!
this will get rid of the yellow triangle but will not reset the counter.

I absolutely DID read the FAQ.
My question is not answered in the FAQ, and if you would have read it, you'd know that.
I've looked at every sticky in the forum, the one at the top does not address this.
Can I get a link to the sticky? If it's the one posted below that doesn't help me either. I've already rooted and installed Cyanogen 7 on my phone, now all I need to do is get rid of the yellow triangle
I mean, would it have taken you as long to help me out as it did to come on here and yell at me? I read over the forums for hours, did google searches, so I came here.
Isn't this a place to get help? If so, why are there dickheads just trying to **** in your cereal here?
Thank you Defnow, that was extremely helpful.
It worked, I now have a splash screen with no triangle, but unfortunately it doesn't get any further than that. I now just have a black screen after the spash screen. Any ideas on how to remedy this?
Will using a jig get rid of the ROM and kernel I already have flashed onto my phone, or will it just remove the YT and reset the counter? I've been curious about this for a while now.

Please use the new ZergRush method to root your phone. It's much safer and does not require kernel swap or flash anything. It will not show YT because you didn't flash anything at all.
As for OP, you need read MUCH more before start doing things like flashing ROM or kernel. Take any shortcut will only put you in a fast track to brick(ed) land which from what I saw is exactly where you are now.

The issue is you rooted in a way that tripped the flash counter.
Which is discussed in the return to stock thread.
And flashing the *stock kernel* back will remove the yellow triangle. Or using a *usb jig*.
Which is discussed.
Your problem is you flashed cm7 before you fixed the yellow triangle issue. The cm7 thread states that it does not support the *stock kernel*. To flash the *stock kernel* would remove cwm, which removes the ability to use cwm (kinda obvious, I know. Just trying to educate the obvious noobs). And since there's no way to boot cm7 on the i777 with stock kernel, you'd be stuck and have to use download mode and odin to return to stock, as you would have no other options.
From the above information, all from existing threads, you have two options.
Option 1
Buy a *usb jig*. Undoes tripping the flash counter and gets rid of the yellow triangle.
Option 2
Use odin to flash back to stock, which will completely remove cm7. The flash counter will still be tripped.
Obviously the *usb jig* will be easier to use and will undo tripping the flash counter. Though it costs money, you have to wait for it to ship, and so far at&t has not been caring about a tripped flash counter.
Thank you for doing research before posting. Understand you read the answer and just did not get it. So when you post and say you've read the stickys and it's not covered, when we know it is, what are we to say? The information is in there. Literally there is a step by step write up dealing with removing the yellow triangle.

So... let me get this straight.
1. You didnt read the FAQs or stickies that CLEARLY fix/cure/answer your question.
2. Decided to post a thread asking how to get rid of the yellow triangle and for a stock kernel.
3. Didnt read or click on the two posts above this one (that Im quoting) that was posted 45 and 40 minutes before this post.
4. Decided to flame the ones that posted in this thread to help you by calling them "dickheads" and use a horrible analogy to sum things up.
Did I miss anything? You have been here for 9 months and only 4 posts (all of them in this thread) so Im assuming that you do reading here and not posting... so you should have read the FAQs and stickies at the top of the forums. Its not a good idea to flame people for trying to help you. Its not their fault that you didnt read what you were supposed to, or for not reading the two posts above yours that actually point you in the right direction.
Infraction issued due to flaming.

[Q] which way to root

Hi I was just interested in which way is best to root my device and why.
I broke my last galaxy s2 doing it via odin as I was unable to unroot it.
This time I have done it the superoneclick way and unrooted via ginger unroot app.
Yes I'm a noob and someone if any one answer will have a pop about which thread I should've gone to, but looking around for the last hour has shown bugger all.
I could'nt for some reason unroot with odin and am baffled why.
Any help would be appreciated
Regards Shaun
Root using one of the many root kernels.
Unroot by flashing a stock ROM from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Easiest way just flash CF Root via Odin. Job done simples.
Yes, I'm going to have a "quick pop". Initial search of Q&A forum turned up very similar questions, this is where you should have posted instead of creating a new one?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=8243020
Answers are above, including the link with guides.
Hi I did this the first time via odin, but was unable to unroot.
I used an insecure kernal and had the original kernal but when I flashed the original kernal back it was still rooted.
So this may be a silly question but why do I need to flash a rom as some people seem to suggest?
Sorry to sound thick ( I am I guess ) but so much info has really baffled me.
I thought you downloaded an insecure kernal and flashed via odin and that was it, rooted, then if you want to unroot you flash the original kernal, use usb jig and job was done.
Or am I way off lol
Again sorry if I am that bad
Regards Shaun
If you flash back stock firmware, busybox and superuser are removed, so you won't have root access. Also stock kernel as part of the package will instal stock recovery.

The actual rooting process changes (adds) things to the system, that's why you need to flash a "clean" one to unroot.
The unsecure kernels only provide the means to perform the root, they don't do the actual root.
Kernels like CF-Root or mine (see sig) do perform the actual root on boot, but as said above, it involves adding things to the original system.
First and foremost, thank you all for your info it is much appreciated and I mean that.
But I am totally lost and still have a screwed of G2 in the drawer.
I have followed advice to the T and some how I am no better off.
I mean what has firmware and roms got to do with rooting or unrooting.
I just want to get to grips with rooting before flashing firmware or at least someone to say what I did wrong.
On my new G2 I did it via superoneclick is that wrong?

Thats usually in most cases not following the relevant instructions .
This method works but if you cannot understand it then leave your phone unrooted and start reading the Guides and FAQS .
Root + CWM .

Basics are choose your kernel flash through Odin phone is now rooted .
Ignore the yellow triangle or just buy a USB recovery jig to remove it .

Just re-flash official firmware from Intratech's thread [ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH, KI, KJ, KK1/2/5, KL1/2/3, LA2 Download (mentioned in an earlier post).
Follow his instructions exactly, and you shouldn't go wrong
After you've further researched and read, follow the above mentioned rooting methods to the letter. Done

Flash a fresh/clean ROM like suggested in this thread, that should most definitaly fix that phone and get it back to fully working state.
So just before I do this flashing the firmware, just to make sure you understand!
I do the flashing the firmware as if I was flashing the kernal?
Also I'm on 2.3.4 will it stay as that or will I have to use another firmware for that?
Again sorry if I am getting this wrong and thank you for your patience
Get a USB jig.
Flash your stock rom of choice from the intratech thread.
Flash speedmod kernel or whichever you want to gain root.
PS. You shouldn't be flashing anything if you don't know what your doing.....

The intention is to get the phone in a working state, so you can just about flash any official firmware you like. Your Android version will also upgrade if you flash a newer package.
Good reports about XILA2. May have a few Italian apps on it, you may wish to keep them or uninstall later. You may have to flash a seperate CSC later, or just manually enter your APN.
Follow Intratech's instructions and go for it!

Is it possible to root without flashing insecure kernel like the SGSII?

I know it's early days and the phone isn't even out yet, but on the SGSII you could root the phone without flashing the insecure kernel, thus avoiding the Triangle or a counter increase on the custom rom count.
The method for achieving this was posted on the thread below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719&highlight=sgs+ii+root
Does anyone know if the same method will work? or be achieved?
Thanks,
Bruno
That sounds like a question...therefore should not be in development
Afaik not yet!
But if you got a S3 you could try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24882250&postcount=1
Looking into the .bat and files I couldn't find something that is xperia specific.
Edit: Or this one (might be the same trick)

Search engine or program for root files

Hi.
Is there any search engine or program that we can insert the full rom letters(Like XEU-I9100XWLSW-20130530173418.zip) and bring us the best/latest/safest file that is offer ONLY root and nothing more.
And we can install to any s2 mobile from recovery menu?
google.com
Ha ha ha ....
Very funny....
Can you please answer with a SIRIUS answer.
Thanks
There is no such thing. Perhaps you could code an app like this ?
If you want to root your phone, choose one of the usual root methods.
Ok then.
Is there one root file that fit to any rom?
If doesn't then is there any root file for each rom version like
android 2.3.x
android 4.0.x
android 4.1.x
android 4.2.x
e.t.c.
If you're talking about CFRoot, you need to matchup the stock kernel you're currently running with the relevant CFRoot kernel as closely as you can (doesn't have to be an exact match tho; read the thread carefully), or you can flash the Odin version of a custom kernel like Siyah (read the first page of the relevant thread to work out which build you need to flash depending on which version of Android you're running). And there are root methods which don't involve flashing a kernel for some older Android builds. It's all in the General & Development sections.
No, there is not a 'one root file' to fit any rom.
What exactly is cfroot and what you earn if you install your phone that root file? Is there different cfroot file for every rom or it is the same?
And what is the difference with the simply root files?
Search (This is my final post to this thread).
WHY is you final post to this thread?
Are you so hard to explain to a newbie some things?
If it is so hard to you to explain some things to any newbie then you DON'T post at all to newbie people is so simple.

The Binary counter will get triggered if you flash anything unofficial, your only option is to either keep it or reset it, there are no super safe simple one click all firmware supported rooting app's, if you're too scared to do it then ask someone to do it for you, or better still keep stock.

Official Roms won't trigger the counter, and in JB for i9100 Samsung has enabled flashing signed zip file's from stock recovery (which can be used to root the device), in ics you should try rooting with exynos abuse(which is the easiest method), rooting anyway would trigger the binary counter.

This is not spoon feed central, If you want to learn at least have the ability to search and read first. Instead of asking what exynos abuse is and expecting people to try and explain it to you why dont you do something simple like type the words into google or search box at top of page??? Those will give you threads that have plenty of info for you.

Stuck with the yellow triangle, unable to use power key in recovery

I was trying to root my phone when I got stuck in the yellow triangle screen with a GT-i9100 (even though I have an AT&T SGH-i777 device). Now before you guys all gang up on me and say I should use the search button on google/xda, I'd like to say I did read up but I couldn't find anything on my problem - I can't get into download mode and although I can get into recovery, my home button will not work there (Bummer ) I tried to connect to Odin in the yellow triangle screen but Odin will not push the .tar file (Stops at Setup Connection). Please help me!
You need to provide more detailed information before anyone can help you. How were you attempting to root? I would guess from the result that you tried to flash a kernel with odin? If this is correct please provide details. If not correct, then please explain exactly what you did in detail.
For future reference, questions should be in the Q&A forum.

Thanks creepyncrawly for the quick reply! Okay, I had flashed a rooted stock rom to my Galaxy S2 (I don't remember the stock rom code) and then I don't know what got into me, but tried to flash another kernel from www.galaxys2root.com which got me stuck in the Yellow triangle screen. But now I'm fine, I used portable adb and got into recovery mode and finally installed a stock unrooted rom (UCKH7). So I'm back to normal! Thanks again! For your help. Next time I'll read more and make sure I post the full details.
I really appreciate your help!
Glad you got it sorted. In case you haven't seen a warning elsewhere, I would advise you to avoid anything from the galaxy s 2 root website. Many users have had problems using those tools, and some were severe. You should probably be able to find anything you might need right here on xda.
By the way, UCKH7 is now two years old. You might like your phone better if you installed the latest stock firmware, UCMD8. If you want to do that, you can get the files you need from the Download Repository. Then if you want root, you should use the Framaroot application. But definitely read up first so you know exactly what you want to do, and also ask questions here if need be.
