Hi guys, a friend has got this tablet. Is there a guide for this to install recovery(cwm) and honeycomb?
I had a look but there so many models on this section but i need the hannspad sn10t13r1653.
Cheers
Normally you just need to boot in APX mode (Volume down + power for 2 second while powering it on) and download the package indicated in the post indicated at the bottom of this post.
Verify the number of partitions by doing:
./nvflash --bl bootloader.bin --getpartitiontable table.txt
Find in the table.txt file the partition number of SOS partition
For example if partition SOS is 11:
./nvflash -r --download 11 part9.img
For example if partition SOS is 9:
./nvflash -r --download 9 part9.img
if you screwed up your hannspad, just follow this thread (same zip file):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15884321&postcount=10
Got this budget tab as I am waiting on quad core cpu tabs and yes there is some guides on how to install honeycomb. Go to wwwdotslatedroiddotcom. I wish we would have a sub forum for the hannspad. Guess hannspree is pissing off the devs as they are refusing to release the kernel. Is it possible to extract the kernel somehow?

hi folks, i'm hoping someone can help.
i'm very interested in getting this tablet but i wanted a few honest views off users.
i'm not worried about Froyo, tbh there isn't a real difference to ginger, but the twin core build intrerests me more thatn the single core tables that are comming out.
have hannspree removed the phone apk's (etc) to improve power and memory management?
i don't play many games so i'm not worries about split second responsiveness but i've heard it can sometimes lag a bit, honestly how does the stock rom perform?
i wondered if anyone had tried go launcher or launcher plus and how the responsiveness compared to stock? screen responsiveness, typing etc?
also i'd be using this for video on the go, i don't watch HD but normal avi/divx, do they play ok?
i'd be very grateful if anyone would be willing to record a short video if the tablet in use so i could get an idea, the marketing vids are always a bit false
i'm been out of cooking for others about a year due to family matters (but still been home building for my HD2) while there are some mods over on slatedroid, theres nothing on XDA. if i get the tab i'll probably start playing with the rom and post a few slimmed down recovery versions. to see what we can start
regards and thanks in advance

the tab is decent, browser is good. launcher pro is a bit lame on the tablet. For watching videos, do not buy anything with tegra unless samsung.

I emailed Hanspree and I got a reply!

Hello, is there any ETA on when the Hannspad kernel source will be released?
There was a rumour suggesting you wouldn't release it. But I'm sure that's just a rumour because under the GPL which the open source Android platform is released under there must be a kernel release for legal reasons.
Look forward to your reply

- battery is one of the best among the tablets
i don't play many games so i'm not worries about split second responsiveness but i've heard it can sometimes lag a bit, honestly how does the stock rom perform?
- stock rom is crap, replace it with either one of the honeycomb(those are not finished yet), or Hannstitan from Slatedroid.
i wondered if anyone had tried go launcher or launcher plus and how the responsiveness compared to stock? screen responsiveness, typing etc?
- Responsiveness is fine, no problems with typing, although Zeam launcher looks better on the tab.
also i'd be using this for video on the go, i don't watch HD but normal avi/divx, do they play ok?
- Plays without problem, also HD, just make sure you use hardware accelerated player.
I would say this is the best tablet in budget price! Almost the same as the transformer, and that costs £350!
i'd be very grateful if anyone would be willing to record a short video if the tablet in use so i could get an idea, the marketing vids are always a bit false

Thanks for clearing some questions guys, i might considering buying one then.
But i've got one question, this tablet doesn't come with any webcam, right?
Is it really needed or not?
Hi,
A friend of mine has bought one of the Hannspree tablets but can't get the Bluetooth GPS APK to install on it.
He wants to connect the tablet to an external bluetooth GPS and I suggested a bluetooth GPS app that I'd used on a Samsung galaxy 1 because the built in GPS was crap.
Running the APK gives a dialog saying the install was not succesful.
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Cheers.
i dont think this tab has a GPS unit, though maybe wifi GPS would be the way to go.

Thanks, I know the tab doesn't have a GPS that's why he's trying to run the bluetooth gps app to connect to an external bluetooth GPS but it won't install!

Can you recommend a hardware accelerated player? I have tried 5 or 6 from the market, some that claim hardware acceleration but none of them have been capable of playing 720p smoothly.
I thought it claimed to could do 1080p H.264?

They didn't specify any sort of bitrate it could play unfortunately. Overclocking apparently makes it play fine enough but the screen isn't really high enough res or good enough period to play them on it imo
Hey guys,
I've looked all over the forum here and haven't definitively been able to pinpoint the best ROM for Flash Player support. I was hoping to get some ideas for my Gtablet.
Thanks!
P.S. I need this for work so it's pretty important. Thanks again
C&C Combo V6 works pretty well with Flash. I haven't come across anything other than some bloated Facebook games that it has trouble handling. For what it's worth, those same games can make my netbook and desktop struggle now and then.

As far as what? Playstation games? Its fine the controls Crash and Pinball work real well. If you mean regular android games they work great too
Performance is acceptable.
Gaming is decent. Comparable to other android tablets, however I feel as if gaming in general is slower compared to comparative models.
In my experience Ipad2 is better at gaming, tab 10.1 is better and Jetstream is better (which is surprising).
But overall... gaming is acceptable.
Can I connect a gaming controller to the Tablet S?

Okay. Im buying one when Ive had my Birthday

I connected my USB Adapter + Logitech Gamepad, works in the PS Games, Market games seem hit or miss.
To me this is a Tablet first, a simple device for browsing the web, reading emails and running simple small programs. Gaming is just a bonus, I find it fine for simple games but if it's a real concern you should be looking at a dedicated platform or a gaming PC.

Uhm guys... just noticed something weird - Maedhros, please let me know if this is the lag you mention:
Playing my youtube link on the sony tablet gets really laggy / skipping whole video sections if I play it in a Browser tab!
But then it works just fine if I choose to play it directly in the youtube app!
I haven't chosen a default app to play youtube videos yet, so there's a prompt for me choose...!
Can anyone else on 3.2 confirm this, please?

Hmm... yea ur right this is what happens to me. I hadn't realized that the youtube player app was fine.
In the browser it isn't as good as the app.

I can confirm this on both Tablet S and Galaxy Tab 10.1, did a research and found out that it's Tegra 2 processor issue

Man... there is litterally no reason to keep this tablet
Have had nothing but trouble with it.
Honestly, no reason at all to pick up this tablet over the Jetstream
I was disappointed by the Xperia phones and now by this tablet. Last time I purchase any Sony mobile devices.

This thread seems to indicate otherwise, as it is likely to have its fair share of issues as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281420
Regardless, the issue noted with youtube here derives from not using the proper tool, when available.
Either way, good luck with it, hope it works better than the Sony for you on all counts!

Dude you are literally staring to spam this board and thus starting to get annoying. If you got rid of your tablet S then great, bye bye. To say "Man... there is litterally no reason to keep this tablet " is beyond idiotic. It is general consensus that the Tablet is is easily one of the best Android tablets out right now. It is also arguably more functional, useful and robust that an iPad with its severely outdated OS. To mention the Jetstream is just an insult. Battery life is fine. The video playback issues you had are EASILY fixed by downloading a proper video player with a codec off the market. I was skeptical when purchasing this tablet but have had no "issues" at all with it that are not related to the bugginess of honeycomb. None.
Hi guys, i am thinking about to buy me a touchpad and install android on it. Now, my concerns... is it stable enough to use it as a daily driver that way?
Mostly i am watching video and playing games on my tablet right now, and i wonder if the performance with android on touchpad is good enough for my needs?
I also need to know if it has hdmi out?
If there are any big warnings please advert me now, before i make a misstake..if it all right im getting it =)

I'm using my touchpad daily with the CM7 last released alpha build. I use it for videos, games, web browsing, etc. Android runs smooth and I have no issues at all. If you score a touchpad at the right price its an awesome device. If you want to spend more get a galaxy tab or an ipad. As for making a mistake, no one can either encourage or discourage you from that. Good luck with your decision.
Edit: No HDMI out port.

I've installed it and so far I like it... The sound is choppy and I don't know how to fix it.. However, everything else works great!! I have lots of games like plants vs zombies and it works great!! I also installed dolphin browser and works great!! I have the HTC IME mod keyboard and the landscape looks good and covering the whole screen the horizontal is half screen but works good too.. I like the Android better due to more apps and more things to put..

Very few issues here as well.
Daily driver, no problem.
I play Contract Killer...and lack of real buttons (home, menu, back, etc.) sometimes gets you locked in the game...however, ending the task gets you back to where you need to be.
I love WebOS, don't get me wrong, but Android has the apps and games I like to play.

Video performance is bad, unless you stick to watching youtube vids.

I use both CM7 and WebOS. For Flash video and Netflix I boot into WebOS. I use both WebOS and CM7 for music and CM7 for most games, transcoded video, and web blowsing. Love Dolphin HD on CM7, much better than the default browser on WebOS.
You can't go wrong for the price... the harware is very good.
I don't think Netflix works in webOS, but in CM it works great. I got mine not knowing how much I would use it, my wife likes webOS so it was mostly for her. Turns out I use it alot more than I thought I would. I use it to search the web, music, movies and games instead of my laptop most of the time now. It was well worth the purchase.
While it has some minor quirks, its plenty usable as a daily driver. The biggest issue is that the battery life in sleep mode is terrible compared to webOS. It'll get you through a full day of use with moderate usage, so its not a deal breaker.
battery in sleep makes me barf. I wake up friday morning use it a bit, go ona weekend trip and it's dead on Monday.
Meanwhile I wake up on Friday with webOS, leave for the weekend and come back to see my device at like 77%.
Is this just how Android devices are, or is it because the Touchpad still needs some tweaking? And if by tweaking you mean we can get 10-20% better battery life in idle, that's not much. Power consumption needs to be cut in like 1/5th if not 1/10th its current state in idle.
Keep in mind folks that Gingi isn't even officially released. There are a lot of development being done in the shadows. I think it will all work out in the next few months. The source for ICS is released, which does officially support tablets. I would not mind them moving to ICS and skip HC/Gingi all together.
I use Gingerbread on a daily basis. My TP is on the Touchstone 90% of the time, so I don't see the same battery issues as others.
Hey all, I have a bit of an odd request.
I am curious if I can screencast my SGS4's screen to my computer with a high enough FPS rate so I can then stream this screencast onto Twitch.tv...
I know screencasting is pretty easy, but I don't know if I can get the FPS high enough so make it possible to stream it on Twitch, I saw a guy using his iPhone to do it, and I feel like there should be a way to do it on Android too.
Thanks,
