Well, this is my friends phone. Basically it won't turn on, however, when I hit the power, and 2 volume keys at one it says
"Firmware update
Step 1/2
Unpacking
Update failed"
I was going to install a custom ROM, but I can't even get the phone to open on my computer as anything.
Can you please help me?

Well, I do not know what the call button is, and I have held the power button instead. Anyway, I downloaded the drivers, says it was installed successfully on my computer, however, when I plugged in the phone, it says "Looking for Huawei Drivers, Unsuccessful". So, what am I doing wrong? I think the driver pack is for Windows Vista, and I am running Windows 7?
The button which is exactly on opposite side of power buttion
The button through which we can switch in the dialer menu
When there is an incoming call we can also press the button instead of sliding on screen that is the call button
We can switch incoming calls using call button
I think u might have understood
Pressing power button while connecting USB will not do anything
IF I HELPED DON'T FORGET HITTTIIIING THANKS...........

I don't know which button it is. There is one power off button, volume rocker, and the rest are touch capacitive.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I too have a Huawei U8652 phone and I have no idea what he means by call button on opposite side, the power button is on top and is the only button up there.

Hi everybody, I have 2 htc genes and in the past I had successfully flashed my rom, but however today when I flashed my rom on my other htc gene, I think the phone is BRICKED!
I downloaded the rom from here and followed the instrucitons on the installation http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396744
However I think what my mistake was I flashed the SPL and everything else rather than just the ROM. I should have clocked the second link
So here I am, nothing happens when I hold the camaera button and power button it does not go to boot loader
Nothing happens when I hold down the power button
When I click the reset button using my stylus which is next to the USB , the two take call and hangup soft keys blink and THATS IT!
Please someone help me out here!
Thanks in advance
try this
press camera, dont release it, and press reset....maybe this will help.
good luck
No its not working
i think u didn't read Warning at that thread
why u flashed official rom???
ok u can try this
remove battery and then press and hold on/off button for 3 seceond
then put battery back then hold camera button and press on/off button to start device in boot loader mode
if u r getting boot loader plz tell here then we will discuss about further steps
No, its not working I tried it.
The two buttons blink when I hold the camera and the on/off button but nothing happens when I just press the on/off button while holding the camera button.
Please help me out here, its really critical
Thanks for the reply

Rom 2.5 ???
Never mind, try to flash Stock rom again, but first place your device in boot-louder mode. (wile device is turn off, pres and hold volume down button, press shortly on the power button)
Connect your device to your pc, when you see "USB" mention on the bottom of your screen launch the stock rom application by Administrator.
PS Used the stock rom from the HTC website by using your own S/N!!
Try removing both memory card and your sim card and then doing a hard reset.
Switch HD2 off . Hold BOTH up and down volume keys and then power on.
Then volume up to restore
Hope that helps

had the same issue of not being able to connect my phone to pc to repair with seus. thanks loads the "press both midle and right button at the same time and press the power button" trick!!!
I tried your solution but seus just tell me my mini it's up-to-date and there's no more the button for installing anyway android.
The phone just reboots over and over
I seem to have a slightly different problem. I tried the process and right after it said that the phone is connected, the green light on the phone goes out and it looses connection to the phone and prompts me to reconnect. My phone is stuck on the sony ericsson logo, will not shut off and will not boot, can not be detected by the computer. I think I have little more than a very expensive hockey puck.

Hi,
Here is my problem.
I have Xperia x10 mini/ yesterday , but mistake, I installed the firmware of the X10 mini PRO !!!
Now, once I understood the mistake, I want to flash with x10 mini firmware.
In order to flash I need to have FLASHTOOLS and need to press the BACK button - the problem is that since the phone is using now the wrong firmware, the BACK button (needed for the flushing ) doesn’t do anything and thus, I cannot install the correct firmware. I tried pushing all other buttons without any luck.
Any idea how I can overcome this problem ? I can’t use my phone now.

The flashmode is initialized before any firmware is loaded, so that isn't your problem
It should always work when your phone is turned off, you press the back-button and attach it to your usb-cable, it should enter flashmode.
If you can't turn it off, connect your phone to your pc, press home and power together till the screen goes black, and then press the back-button.
Well,
I managed to turn the phone off ( using the home+power button), then release the two of them, pressing the BACK button and connecting the USB cable .
nothing hapenns till i release the BACK button and then the phone starts to load with the previous problem.
before installing the the wrong firmware, using the BACK button was OK.
any idea?
update
I managed to hold together the HOME+BACK button and then pushed the POWER button and flashed the E10i 2.1.1 A.0.6 firmware!!!!
while doing it, i noticed for a meesage that the phone is not rooted.
upon finishing the flashing, the phone doesnt boot up, i managed to see the green light and thats all.
i also downloaded the S1 tool in order to root the phone but it says that it can not detect the phone....
what should i do now?

update #2
phone doesnt boot up.
when i connect the flashtool i get the message "Device connected in flash mode".
how to continue from that point ?
Yesterday i rooted and tried to install a Rom and used Rom manager to go into recovery mode. I thought you had to do the down+home+power and now when I try to do anything it wont work power button 20 sec , power+home , up/down+power+home,nothing.When i tried plug it into the computer it makes that sound when something failed to connect to the pc. When i tried holding the power button i hear the sound of the device successfully connect to the pc but when i look theres no phone on the computer and when i let go of the power button it stops. Any help would be very much appreciated and i will never do anything to risk my device being broken again... :crying:

Searched and researched. All says old Volume - and then plug in device and it will enter flash mode.
But I get nothing. Nothing happens at all.
I already have Flash 0.911 installed and I started flash64.exe and pressed flash.
Waited for flash pop up appear and tell me to unplug, turn off device and press back button (in this case Volume -) and plug device to PC.
The flash pop window still there and nothing happens at all.
Please advise.

Have you tried following the instructions from Sony, here :http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/.
This may also be useful : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287881.
Worked for me. There's also info on which volume button presses do what.
Please do a bit more searching before posting questions. I found all the information I needed in these forums and on the Sony Developer site

I have read the threads and links and still can't find the solution to my problem.
I press volume down and plug in and then Flash tools says I need to install the drivers.
But I've installed the drivers so many times.
I don't understand what's making it to fail and make flash to abort.
Please help.

Don't know if this will help, but have you tried installing the ADB drivers? Follow the links in the table here: http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/ for you device (311, 312 = WiFi only).
Also (sorry if this is a dumb question) you are connecting/pressing volume key with the tablet powered off?
Try To power off your device, and while still shutting down, with USB cable connected, press VOLUME -

No not a dumb question. I have the tablet off at all times before pressing volume and then reconnect the tablet.

Tried that. Still says Error flashing Aborted. Drivers needed to be installed for connected device.
windows 8 ? Try Pda.net drivers
If it doesn't work u should post a screen or a log to see exactly what's wrong.

Flashtool-drivers.exe inside flashtool folder "drivers".
The only way I got my Z4 Tablet into Flashmode was by using the suggestion on the first page. plug it in, while its turning off hold down the volume button, only then did the LED go full green and flashtool started flashing. Strangely the normal instructions to get into flashmode, holding volume down while plugging in USB cable while OFF, did not work. This does.
