Searched and researched. All says old Volume - and then plug in device and it will enter flash mode.
But I get nothing. Nothing happens at all.
I already have Flash 0.911 installed and I started flash64.exe and pressed flash.
Waited for flash pop up appear and tell me to unplug, turn off device and press back button (in this case Volume -) and plug device to PC.
The flash pop window still there and nothing happens at all.
Please advise.

Have you tried following the instructions from Sony, here :http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/.
This may also be useful : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2287881.
Worked for me. There's also info on which volume button presses do what.
Please do a bit more searching before posting questions. I found all the information I needed in these forums and on the Sony Developer site

I have read the threads and links and still can't find the solution to my problem.
I press volume down and plug in and then Flash tools says I need to install the drivers.
But I've installed the drivers so many times.
I don't understand what's making it to fail and make flash to abort.
Please help.

Don't know if this will help, but have you tried installing the ADB drivers? Follow the links in the table here: http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/ for you device (311, 312 = WiFi only).
Also (sorry if this is a dumb question) you are connecting/pressing volume key with the tablet powered off?
Try To power off your device, and while still shutting down, with USB cable connected, press VOLUME -

No not a dumb question. I have the tablet off at all times before pressing volume and then reconnect the tablet.

If it doesn't work u should post a screen or a log to see exactly what's wrong.

Flashtool-drivers.exe inside flashtool folder "drivers".
The only way I got my Z4 Tablet into Flashmode was by using the suggestion on the first page. plug it in, while its turning off hold down the volume button, only then did the LED go full green and flashtool started flashing. Strangely the normal instructions to get into flashmode, holding volume down while plugging in USB cable while OFF, did not work. This does.

Xperia S Issues. Bad Flash
Hi, I read the 'existing users' installation instructions on the Sspeed ICS rom and installed the rom without installing the ics rom and kernel (I was tired). When booting, I go in a bootloop with the doomkernel screen. I can access recovery fine.
When holding vol+ and connecting to PC the phone goes back into it's bootloop and does not boot into fastboot.
When holding vol- and connecting to PC the phone flashes the green led and then boots into bootloop.
If I wait until the phone vibrates and lights up blue I can press the button to access recovery. I thought I could then just copy a gb rom over using USB mount but it is not detected on the PC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Thanks but like I say fast boot and flashmode don't work so I can't access this option
I have the same problem too... I was hoping it would just work, but apparently it doesn't it needs a base rom.....I'm at work at the moment so i cannot fix my phone(i flashed it while at work which i shouldn't have done...) i noticed you can put it into fast boot in recovery - go to reboot options then fast boot can you see if that works

Hi thanks for your reply. I've tried going to fastboot

im not the expert here but I have bricked other phones before but never an xperia phone before. I have been reading up, the doom kernel has some mounting options, try to mount the sd card as mass storage so pc can send files accross to the phone. It should be mount and storage menu -> mount usb storage, then leave it on that menu and connect to computer, see if that works

Hi is this by the mount USB storage optuon ? I tried that and it wasn't detected on the PC. I could try another PC later. Recovery went into mount mode fine but nothing happened on the PC. Not even a blank drive which I know some people have had
If it blinks the LED for a second and reboots, that means that you don't have the drivers. Install drivers that are bundled with flashtool and try again. Or use Linux / OSX.

Just Press VolUp and Power button until you get (one vibration followed by 3 consecutive vibrations) ... it will mean phone is shutdown.
Once shutted down, you will be able to press VolDown while plugging phone to PC and it will enter into flashmode.
Then you will be able to flash a FTF using flashtool
doesn't work...after the 3 beeps i let go and the screen turns black but then the boot loop happens again, i cant turn the phone off

Hello. I've got familiar problem. My phone blacked out after one day having about 35 % battery full. I was trying to reset it by holding power and volume up buttons - nothing happened. Just once showed up Sony logo but then again black nothing. Then it vibrate 3 times quickly and from that time it is shutted down, won't turn on even in flashmode. LED is not working too. I was asking for advice in local store servise and guy told me, that new phones have to be at least 30 min on the charger. So it's here now for hour, no result. :/
Just fixed this issue.
Follow these steps
1.hold vol up + power until phone vibrates 3 times.
2.open flash tool and point towards your stock file.
3.hit okay
4.wait for flash tool to prepare the files then it will prompt you to connect device in flash mode( vol down + power)
5.wait for it to finish. Unplug reboot and there you go fixed...
Hope this helps

Use the bundled wallcharger!!! not a PC, pc has too less power to charge it now!
After wallcharger is placed hold vol+ and power for a few seconds until 3 vibrations, then let the phone on charger for atleast 2 hours, if all is good phone will bootup to the "charging animation"
Regards

Something similar happened to me. I have the bugged version of chargemon (only can charge with phone on) and accidentally discharged completely. The phone didn't boot, didn't charge and didn't do the 3 vibrations thing. So I put the battery off, conected the wall charger, putted the battery and it booted
It's really easy to remove the battery, you just need to be careful
While updating a new Xperia U to ICS the PCC had an error while flashing the new firmware. Now the screen lights up, the sony logo is shown for ~3-5 seconds and then it reboots.
After that I have been unable to get it recognized again by either PCC/SUS or flash tool.
I also checked my log files in Linux and no device appears.
I've tried 3 different machines (2x Windows 8, 1x Win 7), multiple USB ports. Also leaving the battery out for ~30 mins didn't change the behavior.
The green light for download mode comes on, but after about 5 seconds the light goes out and it goes into the boot loop again.
So by now I believe the device needs to be sent in, but maybe some one has a few more things I can try.
Try pressing the volume down plus volume up plus power button all 3 simultaneously till u feel 3 vibrations

Can you make sure the Flashtool drivers are installed ? Go to Flashtool Directory, open drivers directory and start the setup.. Make sure to select the Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are also selected. Then, reboot System and folow this order.
Startt flashtool, select f/w, wait for Flashtool to tell you to connect to device. Then, holding the Volume down button (while phone is switched off), plug the cable into phone (The usb cable must already be connected to PC before starting the Flash Procedure )
The Order is very important.. I had same issue with U (althoguh mine crashed with Flashtool and same as what you observed. When I followed this order, I was able to get it detected and flashed )
Hopefully, you wont need to return to Service Center

I tried that right now, Flashmode and Fastboot drivers are installed. Flash tool is ready, device is plugged in with volume down pressed, green light comes on. Nothing is found on the PC, after about 5 seconds the green light turns off and the phone shows the sony logo. Green light also comes on if i simply plug in the usb without volume down pressed. So I'm thinking, the download mode has some how been corrupted?

After several tries (a lot of...) I manage to enter flashmode and SUS is now reinstalling sony ROM.
Honestly I don´t know how it works this time and not the others but i'm happy with it independently of what happens.

No worries. The phone turns off because it doesn't receive any signal from the PC - many people make the mistake of connecting the device in flashmode first, and then they start the flashtool etc.
Instead, load the flashtool first, go to flashmode, select a complete/full stock ftf for your phone (whichever version you want, but do double check if the ftf has kernel.sin file in it) and press the flash button. Only once you get the pop up with the animation telling you to connect the phone in flash mode, connect the phone in flashmode (volume - button pressed when connecting cable). As soon as you connect the phone, the flashtool will start its magic and your phone won't turn off.
if you can go in cwm wipe system then you will only be stuck on sony logo then use this guide http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPPWRXcsz7g.....it will work because this same happened to me and i fixed it with this method!

the flashtool popup was a window that asks you which phones drivers to use...in this case, because the XGO isnt listed there you choose the U,Sola,P drivers. Why would you click cancel? I think you didnt know what you were doing there..........
Take the battery out.
Leave for a few seconds.
Hold down vol down
Insert battery, keep vol down pressed
Quickly jam the USB cable in.
You should get back into Flashboot.

You have to install the drivers first in order to get your phone recognized. Try pressing Vol Up + Power to shut down the phone. Hold it for 10 seconds and then enter fastboot mode and flash using flashtool.

Hi all,
I'm glad to see the XDA Forums are always here to help noobs like myself.
I recently re-locked my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact's (E5803) bootloader and now I can't unlock it again via adb because as soon as I connect the phone via USB while pressing the VOL UP key, I get a blue notification light that then turns red. This makes the phone reboot into the normal Nougat (build 32.3.A.0.376). Any idea how to fix this, please?
Additionally, Flash mode does not work either. When I press the VOL DOWN key as I connect via USB, the light turns green only for one or two seconds before booting into OS.
Many thanks in advance!
Make sure that you have the drivers installed. Did you try using a different USB port?
Hard reset - press and hold, power + vol buttons, till three vibrations, then try again.

No problem.
You may find the right drivers in the flashtool folder, usually located at C:/Flashtool/drivers. If you're on 64 bit, you may have to disable Driver Signature Verification before installing, or else it will fail.

Thanks for replying! Well, I don't know if the drivers were installed already, but what I did was to keep the VOL UP key pressed after I inserted the USB so I could enter fastboot mode. Since the light was alternating between blue and red, I just let go of the key when it turned blue.
Thanks again!
