New RUU for phone - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Is there a new RUU for our phone? I have to return the phone to sprint unrooted with s-on.
Thanks

Miss football. Sadly now that he is mia. We may never see one.

Why don't you just use the boot loader modify script to make the phone appear s-on with the latest hboot. I think that should satisfy the sprint techs

[Q] Ota then use RUU to downgrade hboot?

I was just wondering that if I did the OTA, someone said you could use the RUU in the development section. I was thinking that it couldn't downgrade the bootloader too though right? Since its been updated to a newer version?

nope it throws an error complaining about the bootloader version.
Yeah currently there isn't any way (that I know of) to downgrade the hboot from 1.40.
Well this blows...I have been noticing some bugs that are probably fixed with the OTAs...but I don't want to be screwed if the Devs figure out a way using the hboot 1.3. I know two others who have the OG Evo and the lady updated it in the store. They're screwed. Have been for 3 weeks already ssince the hboot ia secured and there's no exploit available. so I just don't want to take the chance that they did with updating the hboot.

<Warning> People on Evo 3D getting the new OTA: do not update yet, unless you've already ran Revolutionary to S-OFF.
Yezzir, just saw that
(I am Un-Rooted, But I want to root today!) Am I reading this correctly? do NOT update with the OTA (8/18/2011) update, UNLESS I am already rooted?
So if I root today is it safe to update with that OTA update that came out today *8/18/2011?
I think the update does patch the current root method.
Plus for piece of mind don't ever accept OTA updates from sprint or HTC if you like your root and s-off.
I don't know why some people insist on running a update knowing in the back of their mind they'll possibly/probably loose root, and who knows for how long. Just wait a day or two for the devs to implement it in their ROMs.
You can still take the update because HTC just released the bootloader unlocked method for the HTC EVO 3d.

I'm not telling people to update I'm just saying if they did they can still unlocked it with HTC method instead of waiting for revolutionary method.

HTC unlocker = clusterfuck
Revolution = the correct way.
yea not understanding htc way ... unlocked bootloader but you still have s-on ?
Nobody even knows how HTC's unlock even works. There are Sensation users with S-Off and they used HTC's method. Unfortunately, there's about 10 posts like those above to 1 post of actual information about it.
Its looks like its a partial unlock.
I'm sticking with revolutionary, I have root, everything is working awesome, n I didn't lose my warranty
So your saying since I have s-off with revolutionary, I can take the update and still have s-off? Also will this update break root?

If you take the ota through system updates and if you have a custom ROM and recovery it will not allow you to update. It will give you an error message. If you decide to lose the custom recovery and go forward with the ota it will lock your phone with S-on and you will have no way going back to 2.3.3. You will be stuck with lastest ota 2.3.4 with S-on and no root. Then if you decide after that you can't get back to 2.3.3 and think since you can't go back might as well go forward with HTC's bootloader unlock method. It will unlock the bootloader but you still will have S-on and noway of flashing a custom recovery which means no root. If your dying for this update check out the dev section and I believe you can update the prl, kernel, firmware mins the hboot. Check it out. If it was me I would wait for revolutionary or a team that knows what they are doing to release an rooted ota.

Hboot 1.5 and s-off?!

My girlfriend's ego 3d, which we purchased on release day, and used revolutionary for s-off, recently was damaged from liquid. The touchscreen did not register correctly any longer.
She took it into a local sprint store today, and a rep threatened to void her warranty because it was rooted. I didn't have a chance to unroot.
They ended up replacing the screen, and in the process, flashed her phone up to Hboot 1.5 and locked status. However, the phone is still s-off...
What are my options to reroot? HTC unlock, since it is s-off, or just load recovery from fastboot?
Thank you in advance.

Since it's still S-off, all you need to do is flash a recovery, then flash a ROM. If you want to keep it stock rom but rooted, then once you flash recovery, just find an old SU.zip to flash. You can even downgrade your bootloader back to 1.4 if you wanted to.
Count your blessings that the assholes at sprint didn't revert your Evo3D to S-ON. Just flash a recovery in hboot and then flash a ROM from recovery. You're good to go.
Thank you! I had her on various roms, like Olympus and warm (warm was my fav), but I have never seen the battery life like the new HTC update and dual core script..

The crazy part was seeing 1.5 Hboot and "locked" at the top in fastboot!

I don't think you can S-Off yet with the latest. DirtyRacun may support it now I could be wrong. Watch Qbking77's videos on YouTube to unlock and root your device. Good luck and welcome.

If you are already on 2.09 hboot, I think you have to use the hboot downgrade method to brick your phone and install an earlier hboot which will let you run dirty racun. It is by no means easy, and I don't know if there is still support for that method.

Downgrading your Hboot doesn't brick your phone. I've been doing this with my OG evo

The only way to downgrade your HBOOT on this device IS to brick your phone (if you're S-ON, that is). I think you misunderstood. This device is much more locked down than the OG. "Forget everything you think you know."
But at this point, the downgrade method isn't supported (yet). I already bricked my Jewel trying it (granted, that was after the downgrade was completed successfully, but still).
The team that put together the downgrading tool is still working vigorously on confirming a method that will work reliably with the new HBOOT. Stay tuned.

^^^ This. The OG EVO and this phone are not the same. What worked on one won't necessarily work on the other. Just wait for an S-off exploit for the new Hboot, otherwise you'll end up with an expensive paperweight, like the Captain did:banghead:

Once you have S-Off can you go ahead and RUU to the latest one.
I'm experiencing a bunch of problems since S-Off and thought this might fix them?

If you keep it rooted at least, you can fix problems that way. Good luck.
From my Evo LTE, yup.

Gotta give more info then that. If your 3.16 then your screwed because no RUU is available YET. Other then that relock and run the proper RUU for whatever version your on.
