I'm on the Canadian JB rom. Anyone know of a way to trade out for the N4 Camera app?

Try searching for the apk. I know when JB was released there were a lot of zips containing the camera along with the clock.

I tried installing the the zip with the 4.2 camera and gallery, but it force closes everytime I try to open the camera. I didn't delete the old camera apk, it still works. I'm on the JB port.

So yesterday I flashed the photo sphere that actually worked but then I flashed the zip containing 4.2 clock, keyboard and photo sphere that is not functional and replaced the functioning camera... if there a way to "un flash" the camera so I can flash the functioning one cause I tried to flash it again thinking it would simply replace it but no dice ( don't know/ want to mess with build prop) or should I just restore to a couple days ago?

the photo sphere camera is a camera.apk. just go to system/app delete camera.apk . then go back in and flash the photosphere camera you had working. Should have no issues.
The regular camera comes up and not photo sphere...or is that photo sphere?I don't want to mess with the stock camera making sure I don't delete it by mistake

if you have both installed you can use the archive explorer to look inside of it and see the name of the photo sphere app that you want to install. Also the name of the one to un-install.

Thanks I tried what you said but I'm pretty sure that's (the screen shot I posted) is the stock camera while using the archive explorer I can't up on "HTC" text and settings specific (HDR) to the stock camera...I can't seem to find the flashed photo sphere

2) Please search/ask in the Pacman-thread.

Try clearing data of gallery app

There seems to be many requests for this, so here it is.
If Photosphere is not working for you here is a CWM flashable zip that will fix it.
Once you flash and reboot, you will have 2 camera and 2 gallery icons.
Just go to apps and disable the Gallery that is 1.74 mbs. and you are good to go.
Edit: This also fixes the flash.

I am running cm10.1 I flashed this and disabled the smaller gallery per instructions. When I tap the camera app it opens and then errors out with a gallery crash error.

Via LG OG running Rootbox 4.2.2
I just flashed it. Did you hide your existing gallery or freeze it. The photosphere works with your camera. So you can only hide your stock gallery and camera.

Works on the latest Root box with Banks Gapps. Thank you so much for this!

Yep, can verify that it works great on both houstonns latest PA build and the latest carbon build. All I did was copied the old gallery 2&4 apk files to external SD just in case I decided to go back to them some time, then once copied I deleted them out of system/app. Rebooted recovery wiped cache & dalvick and installed the zip. Rebooted system and all was up and running.
Anyone get this working on 4.1.2 jellybean?

Used the keyboard-photosphere one. But it doesn't really work as after taking the pictures since it stitches it as a panorama rather than photosphere

This should change panorama to Photosphere, least it did for me. Just remember to disable gallery that is 1,79 mbs after you flash this one.
May try wiping cache and dalvik to prevent f/c.

I get "Unable to locate camera" or "Unfortunately gallery has stopped" errors. Sorry, i don't know what I could have done wrong. Although my original "gallery" app was 1.76mbs. I even restarted and am having the same problem.
I tried everything. Changing the old app names to .bak, wiping both cash, flashing rom, restarting, evrything. Still get the "Unfortunately gallery has stopped".
My rootbox version is rootbox-jb-geehrc4g-spr-us-unofficial-20130610 <----- is that the right one for my 970?

hmmmm... not sure - prolly nothing you did wrong.
My guess is houstonn will have a new build up soon.... either re-flash what you have now or wait for new build, know it can be a pain but may be time for a clean flash (if you haven't done one recently) all the best

My focus also still does not work on the camera and I believe it was supposed to by my build. I just flashed this rom a few days ago so it is still fresh. Am I flashing the wrong one?

Actually, that looks like the Sprint version.
If it is an E970, you should be using the version in the OP here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228880
Edit: Before you flash new version, wipe data, cache, and dalvik and format system.
I was trying to pull one camera apk from 1 Rom and install in another by extracting the camera apk and putting it in the system/app of the other Rom and overwriting the current camera apk and installed and even though it installs it force closes when trying to use it. First time I've done this on the DNA but this is how I did it on the galaxy nexus, is there something else I need to do to get this to work? Any help is always appreciated

Thanks!
Was this camera pulled from the leaked 4.3 rom and is there a difference between this camera apk and the apk that was pulled from the 4.2.2 S4 GE? Or are they the same? Droidlife posted the camera from the 4.2.2 S4.
Will these apk's make us with Note 2's lose any features? Also, is it easy to revert back to the stock camera and gallery?

No. The camera will install as another camera app if you're on a TW rom and will replace the camera on a AOSP rom. As for reverting back on an AOSP rom, its as easy as pulling the camera app from the rom zip and putting it back into system/app and setting permissions.

That's also a method to uninstall apps that you may have installed that were not originally downloaded from Play Store.

Thanks, I didn't notice that the new Camera app was tied to a new Gallery app. When I uninstalled the new Gallery app, the new Camera app uninstalled with it. Weird.

That may depend upon your device. Take it for a spin, although all the ones that I've seen posted in the last couple days all have the same MD5 sum meaning that they are the same app.
