Hi. So I'm wondering if anyone know a way to restore a bricked Lumia 800?
Atleast I call it bricked.. Here's what happened:
I tried to update my Lumia 800 to WP7.8 and used the SevenEighter to update it.
Somewhere upon updating the .exe stopped working, so I closed it to retry.
And the phone were in "servicemode" (?) when I did so,
and now it refuses to go back to regular boot.
It just boots into "servicemode" every time I reboot the phone.
I've tried softreset and hardreset (pressing keys at the same time.)
and I've let the battery drain, then tried to charge it. But it just loops into
the "servicemode" for some reason.
And by servicemode I mean there bootscreen where it says that you should connect the phone to a computer. Updatescreen or whatnot.
Anyone have any idea on how to fix this if its even possible?
Edit: And no, I dont have a log since I tried to update again it overwrote the log.

I don't think you can actually brick a Nokia, if it's still turning on, then you can use Nokia Care Suite and restore the firmware through there by downloading the correct firmware (you can use any though, just use the correct product code) via Navifirm. Search the forum for tutorials.
Thanks for the reply.
I'll give Navifirm a try. Cheers!

Hi all,
I've got a problem with my hermes phone which I can't solve by my own I think :
My device gets stucked while booting. It just shows a "htc smart mobility" screen and displays the various red numbers on the bottom for some seconds (as usual I think). But it's not going any further (waited for about 20 minutes).
I flashed the "Hermes.DarkVisions.v5.17.23017.Manila" rom over my exisisting "Schap's 4.22" rom a few hours before. The rom was running good. Then I executed the "kill em all" app by mistake, which can be found in the accessory folder as far as I can remember. Then the phone began to work very slowly so I decided to restart it. And now its not really working any more.
By connecting the phone with my pc and trying to flash a new rom, I get the RUU Error "200 INVALID UPDATE TOOL" - what does this mean? The auto detection of the current bootloader obviously doesn't work due to no running windows mobile.
Is there any chance to flash the phone without a running windows mobile? Or what else can I do to get the current rom "Dark Visions" running again?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Michael
Press The Power, The ok button (usually found on the left side) and The reset button using your pen until this rainbow coloured thing comes up.
Plug it into your USB and then reflash your ROM, also don't forget to upgrade your radio as you will need it to stabilize your custom ROM which you will find under wiki part of this forum. Just search "Hermes Radio" and click the first thing you see.
Now your device should be back to life again.
OK, so I've been reading the Common Upgrade Problems on the wiki, and I saw this:
Important : Windows VISTA users need to make a change to their system to successfully use many ROM packages. See Mr. Vanx's guide here.

Since Mr.Vanx's website was taken down, I ask you what are the changes i need to perform and if I need to apply them to Windows 7.
Best wishes!
Any help in here?
Please, i have the same trouble. I didn't work with Windows 7. Does Anyone know a solution?
So I rooted my sister's optimus v about a month ago. Today she installed a battery mod app from applanet and as soon as she chose which battery mod she wanted she had to restart her phone for the changes to be applied, but when rebooting the phone it would only get stuck in reboot. So I tried to start it up in recovery and got the blue screen that says fastboot mode started. I looked that up online and found a fix to it but I need it to go into emergency mode to fix it that way and it will not go into emergency mode, any combination of keys only takes it to either the blue screen with the fastboot mode message or it just reboots and gets stuck. So now what do I do? I really need to find a way to fix her phone. Thanks in advance to anyone who tries to help.
try to turn on the phone & use LGMobile update tool. That should recognise the phone & install original lg fw

I managed to finally get the phone into emergency mode. I had installed the LG mobile support tool and installed all the drivers and tried to go that route but it kept telling me I only had one of four drivers installed, even though I have installed several drivers. After all of that I had finally got it into emergency mode so I went back to trying KDZ. I'm supposed to select the rom where it asks for the KDZ file right? But when I go to browse for the rom file it doesn't show up in the folder I put it in. I've rooted 4 phones and have done so many other things with them and never bricked one, was always able to figure out everything I did and never had to ask any questions but I can't figure this out to save my life and it is driving me crazy. I do really appreciate you guys for the suggestions and thanks to your suggestions I have gotten this far.
Hey, I have the same problem. I rooted my phone then I installed that battery mod app on applanet. I installed it then when I had to restart my phone for it to apply it just got stuck and kept looping the reboot screen where it says "ANDROID". Did you get ur fixed yet?

I'm having the same issue right now, although at least you have managed to get it into emergency mode. How did you do it?
The other issue I'm seeing is that there is no .kdz for the Optimus V LGVM670. I found a .cab file that is supposed to be the newest update, but not even sure that will work with the the kdz manager.
It was my sister's phone and I had the same problem with kdz. Had the cab file so couldn't use it with kdz. My sister left her phone with me for a few days to try to fix it and when I couldn't she took it home and managed to fully brick it to where it would do nothing at all so she had to get a new phone. I got it into emergency mode by holding down the volume and it was either the back button or the home button I pushed at the same time, can't remember which. As I held those down I plugged in the USB cord that was connected to my laptop and it went right into emergency mode. Just make sure you disable that LG modem in the device manager on the computer before doing anything because my sister forgot to do that and that is how she fully bricked her phone. Good luck to you guys and if anyone figures out how to fix it I would be interested in knowing how you did it.

hmmmmm, I don't remember completely how I did it, but there was a very helpful guide floating around XDA. I bricked my Mom's Optimus one as well . I actually had to go to the LG support site, type in my Phone serial number and find a list of all the firmware available. From there I right clicked the page and got the page source. From there I got my firmware and I entered it in the KAZ or LG B2I Agent ? - Dont quite remember. Anyways, it ended up working out for me, but I accidentally flashed the German firmware, but in the end, everything was all good LOOL.
I just bought this phone TODAY because I got excited about Mango.
So, I followed the Zune trick to get Mango (disabling connection to get updates) because I got only 7008 on my phone.
It went fine for 7329 and 7403 but when I tried updating to 7720 (Mango), Zune is stuck at Step 8 of 9 (restarting phone) and my phone just vibrated a few times with HTC logo stuck on the screen.
After a while, I just cancelled the update and then when I tried to switch on, it vibrates a few times and stuck at HTC logo AGAIN.
So, is my phone bricked? And how to solve it. Pretty please. I'm a super newbie here. Day 1 as a proud WP7 owner.
No your phone is not yet bricked.. you can step into bootloader mode and load custom rom on it.. and then get update.

How do I do that? I'm sorry, still super newbie. I just read about RSPL/HSPL. I'm new to HTC. Before this, I got Samsung.
I'd stay away from RSPL/HSPL for now if you're new to this, there are too many ways to brick your phone down that route.
Firstly I'd recommend starting your phone up and leaving it at the HTC screen for a bit, it can take up to 5 mins to start after a huge update has been installed. If that gives you no luck, head over to this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915827
Find the rom that matches your carrier, for example I'm Orange UK so I will scroll down to part D and pick one of the Orange UK roms.
Now turn off your phone, and switch it on holding volume down. You'll see a tricolour screen, it should say 'serial' at the bottom. Now connect this to your computer, windows update will auto install the drivers and it will now say 'USB' instead of serial.
Run the romupdateutility.exe from the file you downloaded (and extracted to somewhere on your computer). After various tick boxes and OKs it will give you the old wm5 progress bar and soon enough you will have a factory installed windows phone build 7008
let us know how it goes.

Is it OK for me to install ANY ROM? Because mine is not branded.
Update: Nah, all ROMs gave me invalid vendor ID and I have to find a goldcard which I'm not capable of. So, Service Center it goes.
Hi,
If you haven't gone to a sevice centre already, then I would try the RSPL/HSPL (it is very easy to do)...then flash an ansar ROM. This will certainly fix you current issue.
Is there already RSPL/HSPL for Mango Bootloader?
Okay i was trying to force update the latest 8107 update on my mozart and suddenly my computer went dead, and now my phone is bricked i guess, tried pulling out battery, tried hard resetting but it always goes back to the "Plug in to computer(when its installing updates picture).

My wife did the same by pulling the cable out on my mother in law's mozart. Unfortunately I had done the upgrade as a guest and as such didn't have a restore point as soon as she took the cable out.
So I unbricked by restarting with the power and vol down to get into the SPL and then flash a stock rom see thread with all the ROMs, then got windows (zune) to do all of the upgrades again.
After I got most of her data back from the cloud, the only real thing that she lost was her text messages, a few emails and some pictures that she haddn't sync'ed.
Let me know if you need more help via PM and I will see what I can do.
Hi all.
I have a Nokia Lumia 800 which one evening I was powering off. The next moment I tried to turn it on, it appeard to be stuck in a boot loop or something. It vibrates for two seconds, then after a few seconds, a short vibration comes. This will go on in some kind of loop.
Don't know if the bootloader is trying to get the main FW up and running, without succeeding.
The local smartphone repair centre was trying a new battery and a new screen without getting it on. They simply wrote in their report "mainboard dead".
They did not have the possibility of flashing the FW.
Obviously the phone has some corrupt firmware and it needs to be reflashed.
Here is what I've tried:
I downloaded the Nokia care suite but it seems it does not support flashing a dead Lumia.
I also tried Nokia Software recovery tool, but it cannot connect to the phone - sometimes reporting "cannot read device" and sometimes "the phone is not supported"
I'm running Windows 7 and my PC. Does it perhaps require WinXP?
What can I do?
Thanks in advance, really appreciate it!
