Has anyone found a work around on accessing the sd card when tethering with mac? I know I can pull the card out , but I would rather leave it in.

Click skip, or if you are rooted delete the .iso in /system

THIS!
It annoys me to no end.
I don't want to go deleting things in it or anything, but I really don't want it.
I deleted the iso, now no more annoying popup

OK so I took some pictures and when I rebooted my phone the next day half of them was blank in my gallery anyone know what's up with that.
Have you actually mounted to a pc and looked on the SD? Are you stock or rom'd? Have you used any 3rd party file managers like Astro to check the contents of the card?

It happened again tonight they were there and when I connected to my PC 6 out 12 became damaged or corrupt well at least that's what my PC says and then when I disconnect from my PC the pics. are blank in my gallery

SD card is prolly on the fritz. Or your ROM has read write speeds to high. And if u want to be sure the data is really corrupt put the SD card into the comp with a SD reader if possible not pass thru the phone.

Until you fix the problem you might want to try Photobucket and set it to automatically upload your photos that way you at least dont lose the pictures?..

thanks again I don't know why I think of using PhotoBucket since I too gave a account with them for a couple years now.
I can't believe you can't sync or transfer files via usb. Someone please tell me I'm wrong because I've been googling for an hour and looks like the transfer program from asus is for pc only. I can use dropbox for smaller files but video transfers are going to be a pain. Any ideas?

There's no reason to have to use a transfer program. Just mount as SD device
ASUS probably expects Mac users to be using a iPad.

Care to explain how? It doesn't mount as an SD device, or give the option to do that. It shows up as using MTP, like the Galaxy Tab.

Thanks, worked like a charm.
AirDroid is the bomb! Try it. Mac or pc & interface & functions are phenomenal.. it is what I use daily. Plus it is free.
Android file transfer has a file size limit! What the heck? Any ideas on transferring large files?
Good Evening
I have just rooted and installed the above ROM from the development section of the site. But i cant post in that thread with this problem as i dont have access.
My problem is that i want to use a Titanium Backup i have on my computer and re-install all of my apps etc, but i cant access the tablet as a USB device. It does not work in USB debugging mode or with it turned off (which worked fine with my honeycomb ROM (stock ROM))
Any ideas as to why i cant access it? Or any help on how i can would be appreciated.
Thanks

any idea on how i can get this to work on xp pro? i installed the stand alone samsung driver (not kies) and when it's connected via MTP, i can only transfer media files and not regular files.
What do you mean media files and not regular? When you transfer movies to it, it will ask to convert, just say no, and it will transfer the raw version.

no. what i meant is that it will just say "this is not a media file type" and will just ask whether to skip the file or cancel. meaning non media files (i.e. everything outside of music and video) will just be refused.

It's an illusion to distract developers or such, to remind us that we have nerdy hot sizzling women where our brains are stuck figuring out android stuff
foliage, I don't know how your getting that, normally when you copy stuff via USB you get only 2 options in MTP "Convert" or not.

it's weird cuz it only happens on my work computer which is xp pro. mtp works fine on my w7 laptop though. just thought someone would know why. oh well.
EDIT: i got it to work by simply upgrading my windows media player to ver. 11 in case anyone else runs into the same issue as me.

Does anybody know, why the 'Mass Storage' option is grayed out in the Storage settings | USB computer connection (three dots on top - menu) while MTP and PTP are available?
CM9, Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I know there are certain apps out that will auto-mount your SDcard as external storage, but I was looking for something more along the lines of an Init.d script to get that same job done, I've done some searching and I can't seem to really find something that does what I'm looking for, any help appreciated, Thanks.
Edit: Evo3D CDMA btw.
External storage for when you connect to a computer? When you connect, select the mount as disk option and select don't ask again. It should then automatically mount the sd card as external storage each time you connect via usb.

I know you can do that, I'm looking for a script to mount it while it still being accessable to the phone. It can be done, I just don't know exactly what to do.

Sorry for giving the obvious answer earlier, but you'd be surprised how often that is what is needed.
If I understand what you need to happen, you might want to try one of these:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.protocol.x.USB&hl=en
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rafoid.multimountsdcard.widget
Haha yeah, I've seen that a lot too, I'm just looking for a script that does what those do, w/o having to use them, mostly curious.

Haha, I see that now in your op. I'm a math professor, so reading comprehension is not our strong suit. I wish I could help. Maybe post in the thread of the Rom you use since the devs are far more knowledgeable.

I want to be able record at 120fps straight onto an external drive, but I note when you plug a drive in the phone doesn't give s option.
is there anyway round that?

I don't think it will be possible with Sony camera app. To tell you the truth its first time I hear about recording straight onto OTG device. All I can think of is to somehow deceive camera app that OTG storage is an sdcard. Some link for example.
I don't think it's possible, but then again, is there any need when you can use a high speed sd card?

yes there is a need, that's why I asked.
annoying the xperia cant do it when the htc m8 can
Try a third party camera app? not sure if any can do it but just the first thing that came to mind.
May I ask why an sd card won't suffice?

well you could use Foldermount if you are rooted and redirect the DCIM folder to your OTG hard drive
that's the sort of advice I was after.
to be a pain and needy got any more info on rooting and re directing dcim??

Rooting guide (as always at your own risk): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900
Foldermount: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192122 which basically lets you symlink any folder anywhere.
Hope that helps!
excellent many thanks, I will have a read of that during the world cup final later
(not opened either link) is there no way of adding the external drive to the camera settings? you have the option of internal and SD cant we add another option for external?
Nope, no option for that. You'll have to do it the hard way!
Edit: An alternative would be to use another camera app, like ABC, which lets you save to a custom folder.
but does the app let you record at 120fps?
I cant even find abc, is it just called abc?
I get everything but a camera app

My bad. ABC stands for A Better Camera and you can get it from here. I don't really know if it's able to record on 720p 120FPS but you can try it and see what happens
