Hi,
i have a little Problem with my Prestigio MulitPad 8.0 Pro Duo (PMP5580C DUO).
When i use Quick System Info PRO it shows a total RAM of 870MB (instead 1GB in tech specs) ??
Is there anyone with this Tablet who can try this APP and show me the result of the total RAM ??
Or shpuld i think this tablet is broken?

Don't worry your tablet isn't broken, android automatically reserves a portion of the total memory for low level system related tasks, so while there technically is 1 GB of RAM because of the reserved memory it shows up as 870MB total being useable.

Does anybody know something about developing roms and mods for brilliant tablet carrefour ct704 wich is equipped with a processor A9 cortex of 800 Mhz, 512 Ram and 3d core, capacitive ?.... i'm wondering that...i have searched all the forums and google it ...but in vain...please, if anybody know something about that let me know...or even we can open a new thread forum for owners of tablet carrefour ct 704....hope i will get any advice or answer...thanks in advance to anyone willing to help!
It happens that I own this tablet and maybe somebody will find this useful...
You can find this device under many names, like Carrefour CT704 or Win Accord CT 704, so this means it's built by some other OEM manufacturer under a dozen or so brand names. I haven't tracked the original manufacturer yet so I can't say more about this.
It's hardware and software aren't impresive but they do their job well. Here are they:
Screen: 7 inch, 800x600 capacitive multitouch touchscreen
Processor: 800MHz ARM Cortex A9 with 3D Core
RAM: 512MB
Internal Storage: 2 GB
OS: Android 2.2.1 Froyo
MicroSD slot that accepts cards up to 32GB (I use a 8GB one and it works well)
It's equiped with a accelerometer, mic, stereo speakers and Wifi. On the box it sais that it's capable of 1080p HD video playback (I haven't tested this yet)
One thing you must know is that the usual Google apps (like market, docs, maps) are not included, they prefered to use Getjar instead. You have to install the Google apps yourself (Took me about a day to do this since I'm a noob but the whole process takes only 20 seconds).
I found both the original ROM image and the Google Apps update but the forum doesn't allow me to post links...so if anyone needs them I'll pm the links to both files.

Hi, guys!
Please don't lynch me for being a noob, I have used search button and I have looked in the threads the forum offered when I wrote in the title, and still found nothing that'll help me.
I recently bought a generic media streamer from DX.com (SKU 112201).
It's compact, light and runs Android 2.2 on a 1GHz CPU, 256MB RAM and 2GB flash memory (though if I looked in the right place there are only about 200MB of storage space).
The little box is not only full of magic but also many chinese apps (some of which open up the same interface) that I have no use for, not to mention the whole OS is chinese/engrish with errors popping up every minute.
The streamer runs slow and often hangs and I can't for some reason find certain apps in the Play Store when they're on the top of the list on other devices (probably chinese censorship or something).
I can easily find a guide to reinstalling firmware on my htc sensation xe, but I got nothing on this device.
My question to you is: does anyone know how to install a clean-no-third-party-apps Android 2.2 on a streamer or knows where I can get the guide?
Also, do you think I should even bother getting this thing working at its optimal capacity given its specs?
Thanks in advance and again sorry for my noob!
Ok, nevermind rewriting the thing, I figured out it's just a weak mainboard that looks like it was taken from a phone and (poorly) molded into a Media Player interface. The programs that bug me I can remove or disable, all I have to do is find a proper TV app that would work on this hunk-a-junk.
I still have an issue though - the device is supposed to have a 2GB internal storage memory and indeed it says "2GB" under "FLASH Memory" in the storage settings, but I have absolutely no access to it?
Can anyone please help me with this?
Hello,
I am working on an Acer Iconia B1-A71 at the moment.
I managed to unlock the BootLoader, thanks to @FireDiamond ) & I also managed to root it, thanks to @entonjackson ).:highfive:
Now I'ld like to increase the memory dedicated to applications.
I know that I'm able to swap internal & external storage, but what I'm willing to do is increase what in the settings is called "applications memory".
Talking with a friend we thought that repartitioning internal & application memory, & then swapping modified internal with external memory, would grant lots of application memory & lots of internal memory.
Is this possible ? what should I use or do to achieve this ??
Thanks to all the comunity!!!
P.S.: More specifically:
App 1GB, Int 5GB, Ext 30GB =Partition=> App 5GB, Int 1GB, Ext 30GB =Swap=> App 5GB, Int 30GB, Ext 1GB.
My useless opinion:
So, what will you do with that increased memory? I thought only about games with large cache like Dead Trigger (about 0.7 Gb) or apps that require a heavy amount of memory like cSploit+MetaSploit Framework+Ruby (about 3 Gb).
Did you know we need another resources to get apps working, like RAM and CPU? That's why I bolded RAM - we need to increase it first!
I did a little research earlier:
(tablet status) — (free RAM in standby mode, total is 480 Mb)
1. Full stock RV04RC04 — ~90 Mb
2. Stock, DVM heap 30 Mb, Smart Launcher v2 — 130 Mb
3. Same as 2, but with removed bloatware and stock launcher — 150 Mb.
Now let's check minimal and optimal requirements for some apps:
Minecraft PE — 64/128 Mb (passes)
NfS: MW — 100/250 Mb (passes on minimal graphics)
GTA: SA — 300/1024 Mb (passes veeery laggy on minimal graphics then crashes)
DJ Studio 5 — 500/1024 Mb (btw it passes, so strange!)
Firefox (even Beta) — ?/? (crashes on second opened tab)
Also, when playing some heavy games you can see that ugly LOW MEMORY sign in edge of screen.
What we need to make:
1. Custom kernel with another compression and enabled 2nd CPU kernel (it's disabled forever with stock one).
2. ROM with a high RAM economy, so we can use free RAM in heavy apps.
Unfortunately, I don't think we are able to do it, because there are no many developers who ready to work with Iconias; anyway we have devs, but in the most cases we can't co-work because of "language barrier". I know some guys from 4PDA, they can look on the B1-A71 if I ask them, but we need more than only 2 russian devs to make all that stuff...
Now about your problem with memory swapping
Use google: android create vold fstab
@FireDiamond
I know that RAM is needed & I noticed it had quite a low amount.
The owner ( a friend of mine ) wants to have a bit more app memory because by installing the few apps she uses, it fills up pretty fast.
She uses it to read some pdf, browsing & play low level games as Fruit Ninja or any Saga game.
I'm searching now on the keywords, thanks for them.
Probably it would be enough to set 3GB for App & 3GB for Int storage, though if possible, it could be more usefull if I also did the memory swap, in which case the "Ext" storage ( = Int memory left out of App storage ) would be useless since there would be an "Int" 30GB.
That is why I thought of giving everything to App memory.
EDIT: I searched a bit about thevold.fstab & I recognized that it is usefull for swapping, which I will do following an other topic. What about resizing interanl memory partitions ? Does anyone know what I could use ?

Sorry i forgot to mention but my phone has 512 mb ram, 1ghz cpu with broadcom videocore IV proccesor
Pokemon GO requirements
Hi there,
i found this,
Supported devices
Android
Android 4.4 to Android 6.0.1
(Android N will not supported until the official Android release)
Preferred resolution of 720x1280 pixels (Not optimized for tablet)
Strong internet connection (Wi-Fi, 3G, or 4G)
GPS and Location Services
Intel CPUs are not supported
Source : "https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/221958248-Supported-devices"
Personaly i know that you need at least 2gb of RAM to run this app
Best regards
Well you are right about that, but im asking if there is a way to run it with low end phone with kitkat and maybe somehow reduce the ram usage so it can launch correctly not crash
EDIT: guys i actually found a good settings for gl tools to launch the game try you guys too, this may help the crash
P.S. idk xda app doesnt let me to upload screenshots so i will type all of this (oh boy this will be long :c)
Disable anti alliasing
Force 16 bit rendering
Optimize glsl shaders
Enable texture decompression-all
Enable texture recompression-all
Downscale textures-0.5x
Enable simple mapbuffer emulation
Enable use packed stencil buffer
Enable fix fbo attachment sizes
Enable decode sRGB
Enable Lower depth buffer size limits
Thats it! You can thank me later and tell if you still have problems
I again forgot to mention, dont worry about the long loading and it might crash the first time like i got when i tried to enable gps, but i rebooted the phone and wolla!
Doesnt recompression actually take more CPU? Because it has to compress graphics.
Might be better for RAM but worse for CPU.
Please correct me.
Well yes and no. You see pokemon go has a big requirement to run the game, and you also need more ram to just open the game. So the only option here is to use the recompression that will free more ram to launch the game, but the only thing i need to solve is how to fix the lag for now :/
Hi everyone.
I recently bought a Tab S6 with 128 GB storage space and want to share it with my wife. The problem is the following: With my "primary" user account I can use all of the 128 GB. But the "secondary" account of my wife only has 8 GB allocated to it. And unfortunately, it is already full. Is it possible to increase the disk space she can use (e.g. to 32 GB)?
Thank you very much for your help.
I'm facing the same problem on this device. Has anyone found a solution yet?
