[ASK] ROM - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can you give an advice to choose the best ROM for my galaxy s3?? Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium

The only advice I can really give is go to the development sections and read up on the Roms, read the OP and last few pages off each thread.
The reason I say this is because best Rom/kernel discussions are not allowed due to the friction they cause, and out of respect to the developers

Stick with stock until you have read the faqs and guides and can answer the question yourself .
That will save you bricking through ignorance .
Do not post what rom threads as per the rules .
jje

Best ROM threads always turn into Pissing Matches. Best thing you can do is go to Dev section and read a few OPs. Pick a few that you like adn read the last 10 pages or so for bugs. Narrow it down to one you want and start reading.
Oh and make a Nandroid before flashing or your next thread will be "Help!!! My phone won't boot".

A. You're not allowed to post a "what is the best_____" thread
B. Radio is location dependant, so you can start trying them out. (they take a few cycles for them to settle, just like flashing roms and kernels)

Why is there minimum posts requirement to post in developement forums? It seems stupid to me, man needs to post his messages in other OT forums.
Well, there is a bug about BLN in latest 4.0.1 Siyah S2 kernel, backlights stays on even if turned off in ROM manager.
Thanks.

This really isn't the place to ask questions... And you could ask that question in the siyah discussion thread. Rather than the development thread.
Ok m8
I am using Dorimanx v7.33 for JB.. on android v4.2.1 - cm10.1 I am using this so I can undervolt to get the battery to last longer. Doing the same thing I can get 2 days on ICS.
I dont know about radio but try out GetRIL so the RIL and Baseband are the same on every one they never match.

It's better for new guys to read for themselves, so they know what they are flashing. Otherwise you get dozens of annoying questions afterwarts about their rom, because they blindly follow advise about roms that are based on personal preferrences (which maybe don't match their own expectations).

Why you can't read stickies threads for 10 minutes it's not hard ? Isn't it ?

Your Favorite ROM?

Did a bit of a search, couldn't find anything like this for the Samsung Galaxy S3... question is simple - what is your favourite ROM for the Galaxy S3, and why?
Until some of the recent Jelly Bean ROMs from Samsung have leaked, my favourite has been Cyanogenmod 10 nightlies. As much as I love the Google Experience with AOSP, I can't deny that Samsung have done a freaking good job on their Jelly Bean ROMs. I'm currently using the latest Omega v22 ROM and it's amazing. Some of the features in it are really breathtaking, and they have really make a good effort to make it easy to use for the end user, which doesn't help me, but it's a step in the right direction.
So what is your favorite ROM right now and why?

Sorry about that, didn't realise that it's against forum rules? Care to link where it says that? I've seen them in different device threads...

Look through the forum and see all the locked best ROM threads.
They bring out fanboys and can end up as flame wars.
I don't know where it says it in the rules, I just know that they aren't allowed here.

comparing and rating roms is against rules of xda...
go to the rom thread and check features!
Do a search before posting!
As this thread is useless, i'm reporting it now!
It's like asking: what is the best car?
Just make a test drive and decide

why so rude dude?
Stupid thread. Just try loads of Roms. Use the one you like the best. I like MindCr And CM 7.2. But look around in the development section for many different Roms.

sorry
but what is the right forum?
Hi. The questions and answers section would be the best place for your post. And honestly there is no best rom. It would be rude to say one was better than another.
I say try three or four of them or all of them if you have time.
You should ask a mod to relocate this but likely someone already has.
I know whats its like to not know lol so no worries. But this is the development thread and nothing belongs here unless you created it.
Enjoy the flashing and remember to read before you flash.

Please remember that the development section is only for threads on development.

We also typically do not allow "best rom" threads because there is no one answer in most cases. Many users will have different views on this and it will often spark a pointless debate.
My suggestion to you is to make a backup and try a few ROMs for yourself.
Thank you

[Q] any good rom?

Try yourself then. Or take a look at the specific ROM threads in Development and Original Development section as they are some reviews for most of the ROMs there in each ROM thread itself, so you can decide yourself what to flash.

Please look at forum sticky in general section. We encourage you to try roms by yourself as all those "best rom" (and I don't care if you asked for best or good ) questions end in very subjective answers ans subsequently in flames.
