[Q] switch baseband - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

hi i have a mt15i xperia neo, but 3g doesn´t work with my carrier (telcel méxico) my question is:
can i downgrade/switch baseband in order to work with my 3g? or how can i get my 3g working? my android version is 2.3.4

R: [Q] switch baseband
Basebands have not much difference between them. Try instead to restore stock firmware.
Anyway to change baseband you have to use flashtool. Flash baseband part from a whole firmware, from which you want your bb.

You may be more clear about this and give some information like
Do you use a custom Rom or stock firmware

[Q] At%T Baseband on SE Gingerbread?

Hi all,
I was wondering what baseband I should use if Im on A&tt with WolfBreaks Gingerbread Rom? Can I use the .54 Baseband? And I also was wondering if there was a way to strip the baseband from the Xperia Play when it launches on AT&T and we could use it on our X10s?

To use wolfs pre rooted gingerbread rom...you have to flash the ftf file that come with it in flashtool. It will be baseband .71
And yes, its ok to flash X10i firmware to a X10a. It works flawlessly.

Neo V MT11i and MT11a Roms interchangeable?

Most of the roms I have found in XDA forumn are for MT11i. I would like someone to confirm that MT11i roms can be flashed for MT11a devices which use 850mhz baseband for its 3g, where MT11i use 900mhz baseband for its 3g. Someone please help me out. Thank you.
I would think that if you tick exclude baseband there should be no problems ;-)
If it were me I would make sure I had an original Rom to hand first and then just try it, flash the one you want to try, including baseband if you have network issues flash the baseband for the original ftf

May I ask if anyone can advise me where to download the ftf file for the MT11a ICS rom? As I have flashed the ICS for MT11i on my phone already, it operates without problem. However, now I'm not in my own country, so I can't test whether the 3g network will work without issues.

Why don't you update with PC companion and use its files with flash tool to make your own ftf file
Oh now I see that you already flashed mt 11i ftf.find a mt 11a gb rom.flash it and update with PC companion and make ftf I guess

want to use your custom rom for it is very great if thats proper grammar but i dont want to mess up at rooting stage so plz i know you will point me to reading but reading all thread no one seems to answer the question clearly for noobs like myself . do use the mt11i ftfs to root and everything
Mt11i and mt11a are the same device just different 3g bands, you can flash mt11i firmware to mt11a and it will continue working on 3g 850, only that it will show as mt11i in device info. I have an mt15a working perfectly with mt15i firmware. It is always a good idea to have a backup of your original firmware.

all i have to is not flash base band or its okay to do so and flashing custom it has to be flashed on ftf its based on and baseband in order for it to work properly for i really want to try xperia pureness as my first and only custom rom
p.s. the last question to clear my nerves and go ahead with flashing
I would try with your existing baseband to begin with, only flashing mt11i if you have problems

rooting which i have to do after flashing the firmware of mt11i with baseband excluded then follow proceedure . so with using a custom rom like xperia pureness which requires a baseband of .72 what do i do ? trying to get feedback from developer of rom but no such luck.
Basebands are recommended not compulsory.

If i understand it's stocked so it have all the app of my phone have when i buy it.
I'm on ICS now, i have rooted removed sony app that i don't use, but the phone is slow...
Some app close unexpectly, so i'm thinking to come back, but i don't want to unlock my bootloader and install a non-stock rom for the warranty.
Do you think GB is better of ICS for smooth?
Tx for reply

yes you will have all stock apps back on like when you bought it. yeah if you downgrade, you wont loose the warranty. imho i prefer ICS just because of the UI, but yeah GB is much smoother and more apps work with it.

[Q] Baseband compatibility?

Hello guys, newbie here.
Recently i found out that baseband -56 improves battery life, so i flashed 4.0.2.A.0.42 on my neo V with Flashtool. The battery life much better. But now, i'm starting to miss the ICS. So,
1. Is the -56 baseband compatible with .587 ICS firmware?
2. Is there a better battery life-prolonging baseband for .587?
3. Is flashing basebands safe?
Thanks a lot.
I had flashed 77 baseband on .562 firmware.. had no problems.. i guess it will work.. didnt find any considerable battery stats though..
Flashing a baseband is risky if you dont flash it properly.. it can brick your radio and your cell will lose network forever..
Follow procedures properly given in xda development threads about flashing basebands before doing anything.. search..
Hope i fulfilled your need.. hit thanks if i did..
Sent from my Neo V using xda premium
Thank you. I think I won't flash a baseband, only flash .587 with Flashtool and check "Exclude baseband". Is that safer?
Just flashing baseband won't affect you if you use ICS!
As I've only tried switching on ICS!
You could try! But keep a backup with you beforehand

[U]Why my 3G won't work with .54 official fw?

I wonder why my 3G works on other official firmwares but. 54 won't letme access mobile internet even tho im using tje same APN.
BTW, what is the latest xperia U official fw, .54, .89, .100 ? What was the release order?
Thanks
EDIT: I solved my issue already, since .100 was the latest, I have no reason to use .54 now and I will just avoid roms that require that firmware.
