now this one really bugs,
i just upgraded to wm5, not only its an amazing experience, its like being in the future with a xda ii in my hand,
but the problem is while using it as an external usb modem
after clicking start in the wireless modem option,, it shows error :-
" COM OPEN ERROR (8).
i had been using the device as a modem with wm2003se it worked fine.
i am not a techie. but would be glad if some one can help me out on htis one plz

Delete all com ports under bluetooth set-up.
I have deleted all the port on bluetooth set-up but i still cant make my xda ii as a modem.. :'( there still error while opening com port (8) as USB modem... :'( help me please.. :'(

if you get an error on the pda i would look if "auto recieve beams" was turned off
if it's on the pc i would remove all old hidden comports defined in devices
I 've unchek the incoming beam, I also has deleted all the old comport on ny PC, even i 've try it on other PC, but still the com port errors (8) appear. i've also hard reset my XDA ii but still have the same problem. finally I chek the device modem with some kind of tweeking app on my XDA ii, and there's only 4 modem I have on XDA ii,
1. Bluetooh Modem
2. Bluetooh FAX Modem
3. Serial Com (1) Modem
4. and 1 other thing I forgotten
but there is no USB modem built in my Hyma upgrade wm5...
:'( help me please... any one.... :'( i 'll be so greatfull for it... :'(
Notes : i've use Bluetooh as a wireless modem and its works fine unless the speed is so... so... so... slooooooooowwwwww......

when it verifying the device ,the phone turn to green ,blue ,red n white screen ,then disconnect from activesync ?
i have to flash the device cos it have no gsm service when powering up .

I have upgraded to wm6.1 from wm5 on my O2 xda atom. Now my phone modem is not detecting on my pc after I connect in internet sharing by usb.
When i select usb and click on connect, nothing happens on my pc.

U can use direct internet . Do not use mode. it's internet share but u want activesyns 4.5. sorry for enlish language.
I got the solution. Just turn on modem in internet sharing and conect to the computer. In network connection a new connection will show just like lan. Browse the net. It is slow on my gprs. I don't know how to set the tcp/ip. It is automatically detecting. So it is slow. Have to find a solution.
Hi all , need ur help urgently , i am spending almost a mth doing this , searching all available thread , but just can't get it working , tried 3 laptop running 3 different platform , window xp ( running activesync 4.5 ) , window 7 ( running Window Mobile device center 6.1) & Window Vista ( running Window Mobile device center 6.1). My htc leo ( t8585) has spl 2.10 installed , no rom , no hspl . Tried to flash hspl 3 from bootloader , but altough under the tri color screen its show " usb " but ended up still got the error when i tried to install hspl 3 . Window Mobile Device center / Window active sync 4.5 detect m htc hd 2 as "unknown device . Long ago , when i just bought this htc hd 2 it was wking fine , what hv i messed up ? somebody please help me !!!
