Hi guys,
I have been noticing that for the past few days, my battery has been acting quite strange...
For example, after about 2 hours of the phone running (started at 100% fully charged battery), and sending 1 text, spending about 10 minutes web browsing, and 10 minutes playing a simple game - the rest of the time in sleep - I have 87% battery left... is that normal? And why is the battery dropping so fast and suddenly?
I have the "Microbes" live wallpaper on, and WiFi was connected the whole time.
I have just calibrated it with the "Battery Calibration" app, and I specifically tried calibrating to get rid of this problem... I'm so confused...
Live wallpapers and wifi on all the time are battery eaters. Also ive noticed that after a calibration the first charge drains quicker than normal.Wait a few charges and dont turn on anything you dont need.
So, should it get better after
a few more charges?

hi , i just want some feedback from you guys if this is normal ?. i charged my phone up to 100% then used it till it was 95% . went to sleep woke up its 81% so thats 14 percent overnight. keep in mind ive been having alota battery drain so i kinda modified my s3 with the siyahi kernel and used his better battery profile so my phone is a bit under volted right now.
everyone in dubai seems to be happy about their battery except for me
please help:crying:
Your android system is using way to much battery, it shoukd be using 10% or their abouts....15% at a push. I recommend a fresh start from scratch bud.

install better battery stats and let it run overnight after a full charge and unplug, then have a look under kernel wakelocks and partial wakelocks and see what the results are, post back here if you need help interpreting the stats(post screenshots)

I have ~1% - ~1.5% per hour drain
Turn off Wifi, Mobile data, GPS, bluetooth, Sync when sleeping that's the key to lessen battery drain overnight. my drain for 8hrs is 3-4%
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie Android user. Currently I'm using:
DEVICE: Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300
ROM: Android Revolution HD 14.0
KERNEL: Phenomenal 4.0 Medium
I've got battery problem after flashing both ROM and Kernel. I read in the both thread that they (supposed to) have excellent battery life. And there is also a thread about calibrating battery after flashing ROM/Kernel.
I lost 10% battery/hour , medium usage for Twitter(Tweakdeck) and XDA Forum ONLY...
I've done this step to calibrate:
1. Charge until 100% and 0mAh (Current Widget)
2. Wipe battery stats in Recovery Mode
Does the battery completely calibrated? Or I have to use it until 0% / 2% and charge it until 100% again? Am I missing some steps?
Thanks in advance everyone, happy Sunday and may God bless you

Above is nonsense battery re calibrates itself with use .

No need for battery calibration, the android system manages it itself while your charging your phone.

Okay then, thanks Senior! I'll be using BetterBatteryStats after fully charged to 100% :victory:
It is good practice to let the battery hit zero and recharge fully every now and then, but this applies to all Li-Ion cells. I've had batteries last me years with reasonable capacity thanks to periodical full cycles. Otherwise yeah, the actual specifics is automatic.

Total and dangerous rubbish a fully drained battery will not last as long as one that is never drained .

L-ION batteries never reach 0% or 100%. Even when your phone dies and won't come on, the battery isn't at 0%. When you leave your phone on for hours after it is full, it still isn't at 100%...
Hi all,
I've got an unbranded non JB stock rom SG3 for what I think is broken. When I perform a full charge cycle (100%) in an online state the battery drain is horrible, phone gets hot and battery charger is reduced by 1% every 2 minutes or so.
But, when I shutdown the phone, 100% charged and completely offline/off, it also discharges so the next day my battery has 0% juice in it.
As I said, it's a stock rom with only juice defender installed. No apps that could drain the battery of the phone.
I must say that it feels like it became after the last update Samsung pushed to the phone.
Any suggestions before I take the thing to the KPN business center? I've got the feeling my battery is fubar but why does it got worse after the update.
Regards,
Korny

Probable battery drain = Juice Defender see multiple posts .
Drain when off usual is battery not holding charge .

I installed Juice Defender while the drain already occurs. But, the second thing you write should indicate that the battery is broken, isn't it. I will drive to the KPN business center for a replacement.
Tnx for your comment, really appreciated.

As you are saying that your mobile seems "hot"
First you need to confirm that its charger/device issue or only with battery.
First do battery calibration with this method: (In this method you need custom recovery for your device
This may help you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616598
Dont forget to thank him there on his thread.
IMPORTANT: You can skip this step>> "Wait 20 min after you are sure it is 100% (phone should stay plugged in)" - As i dont know much about LG devices and their batteries
Now some advice from me-
If you can cover it >>> Never charge battery again and again before 15 or 20%
Always charge your battery to 100% at once and use your device till 15% or less than 15% and then again charge it full and so on...
This will make your battery backup good as well for battery life

According to the Battery Doctor app, you shouldn't leave your phone on charge for more than 9-10 hours(MAX), otherwise it WILL harm your battery.
You should try hibernating some of those apps with Greenify.

BetterBatteryStats
Use better battery stat (check play store) or similar app to track draining application.
In this way you can find a culprit

Yes, over charge can reduce battery life.
