Your problem has been posted before.
Searching will find it.
From what I remember the voltage powering the screen is different between s3 and note 2.
In short your screen is now broken and needs a service repair.
Maybe somebody can correct me if I'm wrong.

Took seconds to find, you need a new screen by the looks of it. Send it to samsung or get it done at a repair shop.
Sorry to give you bad news

tried to leave the battery out for a while but nothing
tried to put on charge but nothig
tried my wife's battery but nothing
no lights on the screen at all, completely dead.
just for info i was dualbooting cm9 and official 4.0.3 three operator ics with success, had no problem at all used it for a few days.i removed yellow triangle and reset counter with triangle away app about a week ago, not a sigle problem bu this weird this yesterday.
any suggestions ?? i have a jig but it doesn't do anything (maybe it because i'm on ics??, don't know)
please help guys..
It sounds like a hardware problem and I don't think that you are able to solve it yourself! The SGS2 is a tough phone and very hard to brick and when you haven't changed anything there is no other option than a hardware problem.
Have you tried to enter download mode? Volume up + home button while booting. When this doesn't work there is no way out and you have to send it to a repair service. But that shouldn't be a problem, because they won't be able to boot your phone, too.
Hope that helps!

yes i tried download mode, but nothing happens
will try to send it to repair service if there's no other choice.

Be aware if they manage to boot it up and see cm on there it probably will void your warranty and possibly be a costly repair if the fault isnt hardware just a thought. Hope it doesnt come to that for you though

what other choises i have ? it seems it's nothing i can repair on my own .. if paying is the only solution then guess i'll have to go that way..
Its a question = Q&A
Jig boots to download mode in ICS as well as GB.
JTag repair can be cheaper route .

but insn't jtag only if you have software problem ?? how do i know it's not hardware..because as far as i know jtag can be done from a guy in portugal and it was posted somewhere else on xda but before sending phone on another part of the world i would like to be sure of what i'm doing.
dont waste time, these phones r hard to brick frm my exp i got sgs1 too i flashd it more than 170 times now and sgs2 u don wanna kno jus take to repair ur mother board is gone....
Okay, Im an ass so I say that up front. I flashed a bad kernel and I hardbricked my 5 day old galaxy s3 fro Tmobile. I took it to the local repair place that does JTAG repairs, which btw, does not work on the weekends. according to them the JTAG'ing takes 40 hours which I think is more because I kept calling and seeing if the phone was showing any signs of life. Anyone know how long the actual JTAG procedure actually takes cause 40 hours seems like a long time to me. Even after they said there was no guarantee that it would work and bring my phone back from the dead.
I am not new to rooting or flashing roms and kernels and things of that nature. So for the record I did not read first about bad kernels floating about so again Im an ass.
First mistake was flashing anything from this forum, this is for the international version ONLY.
Secondly a jtag should bring it back to life.
I'm not sure of the timeframe but 40 hours seems like a lot of time to do anything.

Could you describe how exactly you hardbricked your phone? As far as I know hardbricking is pretty much impossible on the s3 and probably extremely rare (this is the first case I've heard about it).

A kernel won't hardbrick a phone. If you flash a correct kernel it should boot. A way to brick it is to flash a wrong firmware from here. Cause the first thing being flashed on a firmware with odin is bootloader. Then you will have an expensive paperweight.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
afaik s3 has separate kernel and recovery where flashing a kernel dosent touch the recovery , so practically it should not be hard bricked
If I were you I would approach to XDA forum first! where all the " DO DOES " happen!
are you 100% sure its bricked?
I dont really know about it, but from my experience bootloader flash and emmc bug are the only ways to hardbrick S3, flashing wrong kernel should make your phone unbootable, but shouldnt do a **** to your download mode (if flashed right, put under pda in odin), however if you put it under bootloader box, than it might flashed kernel on bootloader partition which deffinatly makes hard brick.

Ok, what I don't really undertand how all people got the idea that he's speaking about the US version. Yes, he said he got it from t-mobile, but if you buy in germany from t-mobile you'll get the international version also.

Why he or she doesn't give us the answer?
Really weird guy.

I bet its not hard bricked, it would just be soft bricked, if the correct firmware is flashed it shud be back to life...

I tried the three combo until my fingers went numb I tried so many cables and computers and then I was like this thing isnt doing ANYTHING no vibration NOTHING. The JTAG didnt take the first time around so now they are still "trying" according to them ofcourse. I tried ODIN but it did not recognize my phone so that was no good. I tried everything I knew to try and that why I finally caved and gave it to the JTAG guys.

this happened to my phone. and yes i can enter odin but idk what to flash!
Since yesterday I am facing this problem.
Last evening the touchscreen of my phone just stopped responding. It happened so: all of the sudden the touch wouldn't respond. Pressing the power button to switch of the screen for sleep mode was not happening. The last thing I had done was pull down the notification bar so that so it was stuck there. I pressed and held the power button to restart and it worked fine. After a few hours again it happened. Restarted again. Worked. But now everytime its happening. It stops responding. I restart then it works for 2-3 minutes and stops responding and again Ihave to restart and again it stops after a couple of minutes.
I tried going into recovery mode and download mode and it enter and it charges properly also.
Also, last night I switched the phone off and I left it on charge annotd today morning when I switched it on the problem is still there.
please help me out
My galaxy s3 is rooted and its running on stock rom 4.1.2 and siryah kernel.
Is it a hardware problem or software? What can be done?
Another thing just happened now. It stopped responding while I was watching a video on youtube. The screen didnt respond but the video was working and after a while the video stopped but the audio was still playing!

Have you tried removing the phone's battery and waiting for a half hour or so?

Its not 4.2 It's 4.1.2 Using the official one. And I have been using the siyah kernel for over a month now. Never seemed to cause a problem and never updated anything.
And no I didnt take out the battery. I just kept it switched off. Anyway I will do that too now.
R: HELP! S3 touchscreen not responding.
Okay....so you did nothing? Perhaps you're stressing the cpu/gpu too much and kernel does not totally support 4.2.x yet....try flashing perseus kernel also, it cant hurt...

Should I flash stock firmwire then try rooting it again and then flash the kernel?
The thing is I used to use my phone while on charge. A friend says the circuits must have gone haywire but this doesn't seems like a hardware problem.

If u use your phone while on charge that only harms the battery (it will make it last less...but it is inevitable anyways who dooesnt use phone whike on charge)...
What would be the very best option would be to factory reset through recovery (u have clockworkmod right?) (U can save apps with titanium backup) and flash a new rom and THEN a new kernel.
If you flash foxhound it comes with kernel already backed.
BUT before doing this (nobody likes to start off fresh) just try flashing another kernel first(or try and get an updated version of siyah kernel, maybe you got the s2 variant, which has a higher build version than the s3, making it look obsolete).

Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to rooting and flashing roms on phones, but have done it succesfully a few times now. I ran into a problem though, I had to many files in one folder and picked the wrong one! I flashed a rom for I think a Samsung Galaxy S3 onto my Samsung Galaxy Axiom....
I think I "bricked" it...
If you plug it into a charger, the red charging light comes on in the corner, but it will not turn on at all.
I'm sure I pry toasted it, but if anyone knows anything that might work to fix it, please let me know.
Greatly appreciated by your newb friend,

It is technically possible to separate the screen and digitizer, but very difficult. If you search here you will find many people who destroyed either the screen/new digitizer/both in the process.
Repair shops usually only replace the complete assembly, for good reason.
