I have a Galaxy Player 5.0 YPG70 and I flashed the PAC man Kernal and Rom. Now my capacitive buttons don't work and i can't find a solution. any ideas?
What device do you have? Did you flash the appropriate kernel?
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
You need to flash kernel suitable for your device. If you have intl devise - flash intl kernel.
got the same problem, even using int kernl

To clarify, you're using the Intl kernel with an Intl device, right? Just make sure the kernel matches the device you're using.
Has anyone else actually flashed the rj14 kernel on a US YP-G70 on purpose and reported any issues, besides the capacitive buttons?
I've been using the r14 kernel for a little while and the only issue I have is the capacitive buttons not working. Button Savior helps with that.
The rj kernel seems smoother and faster than the Entropy kernel. Maybe it's just me.
Should I expect a meltdown or would it have already occurred? Lol.
I guess I'll wait and see

In the original stock kernel, the buttons are the only difference. So no meltdowns.

That's good to know, thanks for the info. I figured that might be the case but there's not too much in the way of info on what is similar and what's not between the two. I'll sake the buttons for the smoother kernel. Even if it's only in my head. Lol.

Exactly. Even on CM9 alpha, I777(GB) modems do not allow audio in calls(everything else works). Like you mentioned, seems like RIL/modem interface is broken making GB modems useless at the moment.

Ril is fixed for I9100 users(EU version), not for us I777 users yet, until we get kernel source.

Kernel source will not likely help us with RIL/modems - but it might allow us to reverse engineer the RIL interface and figure out what's wrong.
Either way - it's not looking good if GB modems don't work. Either way - without kernel source, too much is broken to even start.

We may be in luck - the i9100 users were/are using gingerbread modems on their ICS builds. I may try the latest KK6 with it today without modification.

I tried KK6, KH7, and KJ1 yesterday with no luck. Give it shot if you want. Those users are also on using the I9100 not the I777(I believe that the issue for us)

So I9100 users can use GB modems, but I777 users cant? According to the referenced post above we cant use I900 modems but they can use ours?
I saw a video of how this looks. Samsung Sucks. The TW makes ICS looks exactly the same as Gingerbread. Can't wait until a stock ICS rom works..

That's good news - if I9100 users can use GB modems, that means that only the audio output libs may be a problem for us once kernel source is released. This could be a pain to deal with, but hopefully the same Samsung Noise Reduction hacks that worked on Sammy-based ROMs could be ported to CM.

I checked out the phone.apk for the correct references in the xmls and noise suppression was gone already from what I could see. This was in the latest airbus build ala cm9.

CM builds don't have noise suppression control in the first place - so it would have to be added and then set, since the default doesn't work for us.
Come on, it's just a leak, isn't it?
I bet the official tw will be much better.

I was referring to a thread on XDA for the i9000 (NOT i9100) users. They were using gingerbread modems on their ICS builds.
But, in regards to data I had no issue with the latest build from airbus (cm9) using a modem built for the i9100. Sadly, in audio calls did not work. Has anyone experimented using Google Voice instead as a workaround?

After trying a few, which kernel do you prefer and run as your normal kernel?
For me, I have to stick with Entropy's Daily Driver kernel. Its just rock solid for me and its nice to know that we have a dedicated kernel dev who is always looking to better his kernel and when there were some problems he went through his whole patch-a-day to try and pinpoint the issues and resolve them. My hats off to him.

Im with you. EDD is my fav.
they are both extremely solid. I slightly prefer Siyah only because I tend to get better battery life when combined with the "init.doh" scripts
+1 for Entropy... been rock in for weeks now with zero issues and great battery life. I am so excited to see what he has in store for us now that we have ics source.

We dont do "POST THE BEST ROM" threads. This is a poll to see what people run.
I am using Entropy and it has been rock solid. No freezes or anything. For me with Siyah I would have multiple lockups throughout the day that I had to reboot to get past. Granted I was using Siyah on cm7 though as that may make a difference.

The recovery menus with the siyah kernal are much more compact. It's annoying have to scroll through all the -NO- options when trying to flash something. Don't have to go through all that when you have the siyah kernel.
Hi guys,
Looking for a tool or script or something to under volt the CPU. I have tried the 1.8ghz kernel but none of the oc tool apps would allow for voltage control. Any help will be appreciated. Google search resulted in general android under volt tips, wasn't specific enough.
S-on, ics firmware, viperRez 1.0.3 and currently vinylfeeaks sense4.0 kernel
Thanks
Edit:
I am extremely familiar and seasoned in overclocking, just need voltage control
I don't know if it works with vinyls kernel but I use incredicontrol with dsbs and it works perfectly. Always sticks after reboots and no problems. So I guess you cold try that

I have a 5.0 Korean (GB70), I run stock KPL korean firmware with root.
In one year time tested many roms none of them was 100% working for me. Some are promising but unfinished for many reasons.
I have a YP-G70 intl and I use stock rom with rj's kernel, the ICS roms are nice but doesn't have hw accelaration and camera so its not for me, since I use the device mostly for netflix.
Chip 1.5 on Entropy kernel (SGP 5.0 US).
Occasionally I see slight moments where the device waits before registering input (between once a day and once a week, usually while scrolling). I don't have the Google Voice APK or the Notepad that Samsung included with the Player, and I haven't spent enough time searching for ways to reinstall them.
On the plus side, games that were a little glitchy before run a bit smoother. I also really like the expanded controls on top of the notification tab.
Chip is a Gingerbread based ROM, so it could be better on an ICS ROM.

IcyFusion + Klin's R3 kernel. Going to change to one of the newer 4.0.4 roms (Codename: Nebula, Linaro, or PΔRΔNOIDΔNDROID ) when most or all of the bugs are fixed.
Slightly tweaked stock 2.3.6 with rumirand kernel.
Also testing CM10 alphas weekly.
Entropy512's kernel & JackpotClavin's CM9 and I'm patiently waiting for CM10

I've got the US 4.0 running ParanoidAndroid v1.6 beta1.1, pretty smooth for me so far, really liking having the notification bar and on-screen buttons at the bottom
I'm using terra silent kernel and icy fusion ROM along with launcher pro. Its a stable combo and every thing works. Performance isn't bad either

Is anyone out there using a non-Semaphore based kernel?
In my experience, Phore (and its variants) is fast & smooth, but for reasons I have yet to surprise, after a few days my poor refurb can't handle it & becomes a kernel panic landmine.
Again, not bashing Semaphore (why would I? It's awesome).
Just looking for something that might prove more stable on MY finicky phone besides the stock CM kernel.
