if you have trouble getting it to reboot or getting into bootloader again try putting your phone under a bright light and then do the button combo then it should reboot

[Q] [q]Stuck on the splash screen

Hi all,
I am trying to flash another JB rom the other day.
I just turned off the Prime completely, and try to enter the recovery mode by holding power and down, then up within 5 seconds...
It then showed the Android laying down with the heart opened:silly:
I have to holding power to restart and boot normally into the rom.
I didn't do any wipe or flashing at all...
Later, I restart and now totally stuck on the splash screen with "ASUS", not even able to boot in to the rom I'm currently using...
Any help?!
Thanks
We need more information. What ROM were you using before this happened, what ROM did you try to flash, and is your device unlocked?

He has to be unlocked otherwise he wouldn't have had a different rom on there or recovery before.
Hold down the power button and volume down button for 10 seconds, keep holding them until the screen with all the icons on it appear (recovery, wipe, usb icon etc) look up the top at the writing and at the end of the line with bootloader in it is a long number that starts with 9 or a 10. What number is it ?

Considering he says he got Dead Andy that makes it possible that he was on stock and just tried to use stock recovery to flash a custom ROM. I understand your point, the OP is just lacking details.

Hi McJesus, before this happened, I was using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911024
and I am trying to shift to shis one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982156
I was trying to enter the recovery mode to prepare wipe and flash procesure, I remember I used to use TWRP, but failed, it stopped at the "dead Android" icon, and I could get out only by restarting.
Then I researched and installed Goo and Rom manager, yet, just installed those, not done any flashing or wipe whatsoever.
Then start doing recovery mode, failed, normal boot, totally hanged, on the splash screen with "Asus"...I coudle restart with holding the power buttom though.
The device is unlocked.
Thanks for helping,

I think your only option is to restore it via RIFF JTAG... I don't know another way...

If you haven't done it yet, pull out the battery, put it back in and try to get into bootloader or recovery. (the pulling out the battery part is important)
by the way, what exactly is happening when you try to boot? please describe step by step what is happening. And what do you mean by boot "into hboot"?
And how did you try to go back to stock? Did you even get into the stock rom. Didn't you just forgot to flash the boot.img when going back to stock?

to flash a rom I
1. Switched off my phone,
2. hold power + vol down (to boot into bootloader recovery), just blank screen no boot.
3. hold power button + vol up, again just blank screen no boot.
4. when us connected led lights up, and PC detects as "unknown device found".
not booting at all.

but did you remove the battery and put it back in or not? If so and it still does not want to go into bootloader, it really is bricked.. Bring it to a service center for repair..

fast boot enabled, locked and unable to get into recovery

I have an htc droid dna running cyanfox 4.4 its locked and i cannot get into it, it also has fast boot enabled so i cannot reboot into recovery, what do i do? Ive looked but cannot find anything like it.
Plug your phone into your computer. open a command prompt in your platform-tools folder, and type adb reboot bootloader. This will reboot your phone into bootloader, and from there you can access your recovery to do whatever you need to.

Sorry i forgot to mention but my usb debugging isnt enabled. And it being locked i cannot get into it to enable the usb debugging or disable the fast boot.
You are running a custom rom?
In any event, hold down power until it hard reboots. Once the screen shuts off, keep holding down the power button and press the volume down button at the same time, this should boot you into bootloader to access recovery.

Yes i do have a custom rom. I tried your tip but it did not help. When i tried (while the phone was on) the phone shut off and the second the screen went blank i pushed down the volume. But it did the same thing as always. Htc logo flashes twice then it boots up.

No, password locked so i cant get into the phone and change settings. And i cant do a factory reset because the phone has fast boot mode enabled, and i dont have usb debugging enabled. So im in a corner here. I was hoping disconnecting the battery would work like a hard reboot and kick off the fast boot but it did not work.

You don't need usb debugging enabled to do fastboot commands.
Fastboot oem task 28
Should wipe data for you.

As ive said before, the phone is not in fastboot mode for programming. The fast boot im talking about is the mode on some phones that makes it boot up faster because it doesnt turn the phone completely off. Because of that i cannot reboot into my recovery or fastboot.

Holding power and volume up until you detect the reboot and then switching to holding only volume down overrides that. Make sure when doing this you are not plugged in.
Soooo, why not just input the password to unlock the phone, just a shot in the dark OR give it back to whom you stole it from?

I did not steal this phone. It was stolen from me. That is why i know everything on the phone, except the password. And the volume up and power method did not work for me.

Change recovery: go to www.4ext.net, choose free download, it's an apk, install it on phone (must be rooted) and follow instruction, it'll install 4ext recovery for you

Curtana reboots before reaching bootloader or recovery

Hello all,
I hope someone can help me with this headache.
I downloaded and tried to install the EU rom from here https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/download-link-for-curtana.56901/ on my Curtana using LRTWRP. However, I got an error during installation, I pushed reboot to recovery. Now the phone reboots so quickly that I cannot reach any fastboot or recovery mode. Has anyone had this problem before? any way to fix it?
Keep holding down power + vol down. That gets the phone into fastboot
do you see the redmi logo at all?

Thanks for the reply. It is so annoying to have to send it back. Also the guarantee is void since I unlocked the bootloader, right?

Don't tell them that you unlocked BL and I think I read somewhere that unlocking BL in Xiaomi doesn't void warranty. Anyways they can fix the device through EDL flash
