How it can be done that?

go to the recovery settings, find the one that says md5 check and disable it. flash philz recovery if you don't have that option

Although the mismatch may be because the backup is corrupt so be aware once restored, it may not be in a usable state

did you rename your backup folder name?
if so, simply create a backup,
using computer to move th files that you wanted to restore into the newest backup folder, than try restore.

[Q] Changing backup name

Hey all. I wanted to know if it was ok to change the name(s) of my backups in my CWM file from my PC. I'm not a fan of ROM manager and usually do my backups via CWM but it names it by date/time and when I get home I'd like to rename it so I can remember which darn backup it was.
If you rename nandroid backup that was created by CWM, you might get some MD5 errors when restoring that backup.
What you need to do is use ROM Manager for backup, and when you select "Backup Current ROM" you can name your backup and it will be fine.
Next time, use the Search

Sorry, but I did search and the only problem I read about was you couldn't put a space in the new file name. I just renamed my 2 backups and restored with no MD5 errors. I just wasn't sure with the newer CWM version.... Thanks for the reply though.

I have been renaming my backups with spaces with no problem. i think its a little weird that you might have an issue if you were to rename them with a space

Did you start the backup from the app itself? md5 checksum mismatches happen a lot when you do... nandroid backups should ALWAYS be done via the recovery menu to avoid this problem. I'm afraid md5 checksum errors are non-recoverable, but do not take my word for granted
As for the titanium backups, check the /extSdcard/data/com.keramidas.titaniumbackup folder is there and has not been moved or modified in some way (remember titanium backs up to the internal phone memory by default, if you flashed another ROM and didnt backup this folder the backups wont be able to be restored)

Restoring SMS stalls boot

So I just wiped and installed a new rom, now when I try and restore my backup in titanium "messaging 4.2.1-en...(SMS/MMS PREFS)" and I reboot it fails to restart and gets stuck at the loading screen, so I have to re-wipe and start again.
Is there any other way I can restore my SMS? Something strange is going on here seeing as it's still a 4.2.1 ROM!
Thanks
