Hi all,
I did a bad work with my galaxy tab. I've flashed it with a new ROM but this ROM is not working correctly, I can't see correctly my display probably due to a bad driver inside the build. My problem is that I've no more a working ROM on my galaxytab and I can't reflash it.
USB seems not working correctly, so device is powered on but I can't access to it from Windows.
Is there a way to to upload a file to internal storage in recovery mode or download mode?
Thanks
Stefano
Stefano,
Depends what recovery you have as recovery...stock recovery no you can't, clockwork recovery yes you can. From download you can use Odin.
What model Tab do you have? Wifi, 3G? What version firmware were you on before the problem and what do you want to restore to?
Ciao
Hi, yes I've Clockwork installed but how I can 'upload' a file using Odin? The standard guide shows that Odin3 is used only to upload a .tar.md5 file to root the phone....
Thanks

That's why i asked what sort of tab you have and what you want to flash your tab to..
There are odin files available to go back to 3.0.1, to go to Early Touchwiz, both for Wifi only tabs...if you are really stuck it is often beneficial to go all the way back to 3.0.1 then go in whatever direction you like.
Or, if the tab is sort of working even tho the display is corrupt you might be able to connect and use adb to push a rom to the sdcard and then flash from clockwork. More info Stefano, what have you got by way of tab, and where do you want to get to?
Download the samsung drivers on your computer . Then install android sdk so you can use the adb if you haven't already. Then you can adb to push a rom to your device and flash.
I'll try ASAP...I'll also add ROM and device details.
I've a Samsung Galaxy TAB 10.1 GT-P7500

I've installed Twerp recovery sort of by mistake (don't ask, its a long story, I'm used to using CWM) and I've managed to wipe the OS from my tablet (7510) along with the folder containing the ROM I was planning to flash. So I now have the tablet in download mode ready to flash an Odin ROM to get me back up and running but all the links I've found to Odin flashable ROM's for the Galaxy 10.1 are dead. Could someone point me in the right direction, any help appreciated.

Can't root my tab, Heimdall can't find "RECOVERY"
Help, I'm trying to root my GAlaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi. First of all, the ODIN program and Heimdall GUI ask for gz.tar files, but all the recovery files I download are .img files....?? Well I'm trying to put TWRP on my Tab through Heimdall command line (I'm on Linux), but I get this error:
Code:
ERROR: Partition "RECOVERY" does not exist in the specified PIT.
I have tried typing RECOVERY both in upper cases and lower cases.
After this, the device just reboots into stock ROM.
The command I am using is
Code:
sudo heimdall flash --RECOVERY recovery.img --no-reboot
Any ideas?
I'm not familiar with Heimdall, so if possible try to use Odin. Go to http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=3158 and download the recovery.tar.md5 for your tab version, launch Odin, connect your tab, select PDA and choose the recovery.tar.md5 file and flash. And then you can flash the twrp zip file from AAcount's Omni ROM thread through recovery. To root, the easiest and most updated way is to simply flash the SuperSU zip from recovery. http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu

Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P5210. Root links removed!
Why are the links removed? I want those links badly
Hello! Since everything here seams to be outdated I'm going to add my own little guide right here.
I tried to put this in the main thread, but was unable to.
This worked fine for me.
I Started with Stock Android ICS + stock recovery and ended up with rooted stock + ClockWorkMod recovery.
Rooting GT-P7500 (3G):

Galaxy Tab 10.1 Root Guide by djR3Z
Hello,
I don't have a noob question, I just need the links updated in the "[GUIDE] How to Root the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 [Video Walkthrough]" by djR3Z. I have a friend who has this tablet and still uses it so I need the links updated please. He has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510 wifi only. I see dennyhhh has posted links but do they work for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7510 wifi only? Yea, he wants to update from the Android Honeycomb version, I dont blame him!!
Thank you.
Where can I find links, I need it.
Thanks!
Missing links
I feel like I'm overlooking the links...but I don't see them.
2017 update
Hi everyone, I just rooted my galaxy tab 10.1 wifi and it was difficult to find the files, hopefully I can help someone in trouble.
First of all, dennyhhh thanks a lot for the instructions, that was clear but unfortunately the clock work mode doesn't work that way now. So I'll cite what dennyhhh said:

So it was not very clear to me how to use the Caboomis script so I ended up downloading the tar file that is mention on original post:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862684556
I also used a really old version of Odin, It was 1.3
Also, If you have troubles to get in the download mode you must press Power button + low volume button and when the galaxy logo shows, inmedialty let the power button go while still pressing the low volume button.
I guided myself with dennyhhh post and also the original post, the difference is that I installed the superSU instead of Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip on recovery mode.
That's all Fellas!!! By the way the clockrom is now an app you can download from the market after the root:good:

My Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-I727 is stuck in a bootloop and I'm trying to make a backup of my data, as I am getting a new phone on Monday (woo, finally an upgrade!). It seems from my limited knowledge and research that the best way to do this would be to flash CWM recovery. The problem is, when I download the CWM recovery for my phone from the clockworkmod ROM Manager page, I can't seem to find a tar.md5 file after unzipping, to use to flash using ODIN. Am I missing something here?

I dont know clearly but clockworkmod ROM manager app includes ROM's not recovery file. If you search your devices forum you can find CWM file which you need to flash from ODIN.

I wasn't referring to the app. CWM's Rom Manager section of their website has a section for CWM recovery files, but none seemed to contain the tar.md5 file I needed. Luckily, I stumbled across one in one of the threads here which worked. XDA is great!
I have a Galaxy Note SGh-I717 AT&T. I have it rooted and running CWM and Candy5. I recently put twrp on my recently acquired Gaalaxy Tab 2. I would like to put twrp on my Note. I have searched and have read for hours.
I need a twrp tar.md5 file for to install on my Note with Odin3. I have looked and can find tar files. The more I read about zip or img file conversion to tar.md5 conversion, the more confused I get. I am not a programmer but have experience as UNIX admin. I have been searcgubg for a while. What I find is all a couple years old.
Can anyone direct me to a current twrp tar.md5 for my AT&T Galaxy Note?

Just flash the twrp zip with your existing cwm recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51194722
Or if you want an older version,
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=12964
Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Of you don't like it you can flash a cwm recovery zip back.

I was thinking of trying that. I had already put it into the boot loop a couple times.
I rebooted to CWM recovery and I loaded TWRP_UNOFFICIAL_quincyatt_2.8.3.0.zip. Took about 3 minutes. Worked great!
Now to do a backup and update to the latest Candy5 on my SGH-i717.
