Hi guys
I've been running custom ROMs on my DX since about February and I've tried almost all the ICS ROMs, Skydragon, MySense, Sense Revolution, etc. Currently I'm running Shadow and everything runs fine. However, my Camera has not been working ever since I first flashed a custom ROM. It just opens to a black screen and closes. I've tried all the different kernels to figure out the problem, but it works with none of them.
What is going on? any help would be appreciated.

If this is the case with stock ROM too, I'd send it in for repair, if it's under warranty. If however it does work for stock ROM then there's something weird going on...

It is under warranty, I only bought it in October, but I'm feeling real lazy to go back to stock. Can you think of a reason why this might be happening?

I have a suspicion that it's kernel related, try flashing stock kernel with a sense ROM and see if that works. It may be that you have a kernel (a boot.img) running which causes your camera to not function.

So I went back to full stock yesterday so I could update and I tried using the camera, no luck. It kind of worked a couple of times, but FCd almost immediately. I'm running MyOneDX JB now, and it still doesn't work. Should I send it back to HTC?

Just a question: Do you have any build.prop modifications? Mostly the model number? This is a common side effect to that, if you haven't I'd recommend you send it to HTC
I don't really know what you mean.
But there is one thing, whenever I open titanium backup, it tells me my phone ID has been changed. And I can't restore it because that's only available in the pro version. Does that have anything to do with it?

I didn't. A while back, when I flashed a new ROM and opened Titanium to restore my apps, it popped up and said that it had been changed. I don't even know how to change it.
I've attached a screenshot of the message in titanium backup

I found a rom on this forum I want to try out, but it does not explicitly say it is for the Rezound.
However according to this site, http://tips4droid.com/top-5-custom-rom-for-htc-rezound/ , the rom is compatibile.
The Rom that was listed can be located here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964841
and is about halfway down the page, 7.0.4.
Has anyone tried this Rom on the Rezound with success?
If not this Rom then which did you have success with?
I have already done the following:
Unlock Bootloader
Install Amon Ra -> SuperUser and su
nandroid backup (deleted after reading about a problem with restoring S-ON)
S-OFF (the method is a pain, but it does work)
nandroid backup
tested nandroid backup (worked flawlessly)
So now I am looking to get Android Revolution HD running as it has stock UI and improvements.
I'm fairly certain that this is not a Rezound ROM.

I was reading somewhere that four htc models use the same GB version, and with this being sensation, which I have held in my hand and looked through, case is almost the same and the OS was similar so I am not sure if I should just try it and see or not.
What is the worst that could happen?
I have a nandroid to restore if I get into trouble, but I am still worried I may need a Stock Rom to restore that to...
Edit:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425091
The worst that could happen is you brick your phone.
Be warned that GB development for the most part is dead now, CleanRom 1.7.5 and Ineffabilis 1.4 are good GB options though.
Cleanrom looks right and sounds lightweight, but the other has my attention with the extras, have you had experience with both?
Bricking is my first concern, not being able to restore stock Rom my second...
I would go with 4.0 or 4.1, but I like how the lockscreen and phone key UI look on the stock Rom and themes do not look as good...

I've used them both and they are both solid roms, I'd have to go with Ineffabilis as my favorite of the two.
Neither one is really supported any though, Scott who made CleanRom went to another phone, Chingy who made Ineffabilis is now supporting a ICS based version of the rom - Ineffabilis Deus. That's the one I currently use.
How does the UI look, is it the same as the stock as far as lock and home screen phone, button?

Just make sure you have a nandroid back up and you wipe all the internal filesystems before installing. If you don't like it, it's easy to wipe again and just restore your original rom. One of the great things about nandroid, it lets you try out different roms and easily revert back.
That's what I was hoping, all I backed up after I got s-off were the default items, so basically my stock Rom is safely backed up on my pc now?

If you're s-off, the rom installer should have installed a new kernel for you. If you're familiar with fastboot, you can extract the boot.img from the rom file and flash it.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Otherwise, try installing the rom again.
WiFi says error. Doesn't turn on. Bluetooth isn't working either. I used the all in one tool kit to root it and flashed the kernal using fastboot. I'm sorta lost

I had an idea. I did the exact same thing to my girlfriends phone. Only her WiFi and Bluetooth works perfectly. Even hotspot. So I figured since The device in question is also an HTC amaze. Did you try re-flashing the NRG ROM with the stock kernel? EDIT: I mean selecting the stock kernel when installing.
I did reflash the kernal. Seems to have taken but issues remain. Im.thinking of restoring a nandroid from another amaze with all working. Should I?
Sent from my VLE_U using xda app-developers app
Restoring a backup from another amaze fixed all.
Step one. Back up both devices in twrp.
Step two. Transfer working backup to the following directory in non working device. Twrp/backups/hlg727729<- example file name. Each phone has its own.
Step three. Take nonworking phone. Full wipe, restore, full wipe. Backup because its never a bad idea. Done.
Common knowledge? Not for me it wasn't haha
I would get rid of twrp recovery. As il not sure if it supports charging while off.
i would strongly suggest using 4EXT on htc phones, since it was mainly designed for them... and also i wouldnt use two identical backsups on different phones, i have tried it and it leads to issues later when the phones are connected to the same network.. and it my cause other system files to malfunction after awhile when using other apps
4ext sounds cool. I'll check it out. Thanx as for the backups. You are probably right. Wouldnt doing the wipes solve that aswell?

Maybe you guys can help me. Ever since flashing CM 10.1 2/09, my camera hasn't worked on any ROM at all. I put a stock ROM on it and took it to Sprint thinking it was just a camera error. They replaced the camera, still didn't work.
Here's where it gets interesting. After leaving the store, I restored my CM backup and THE CAMERA WORKED. They didn't RUU it since I still had a custom recovery and it was still rooted. Fast forward three days, it stopped working again and hasn't since.
So, what the hell?

Get the ROM I linked, you still get all the features of the stock ROM and way better performance and batterylife, and you still get WiFi Calling on the phone. I love the ROM and it has the camera and GPS fixes that T mobile hasn't given us yet.
yeap what he said. most of the international roms are bug free and lean as **** now. almost all of them have setups for ATT/TMO/international. (sorry sprint you got ****ed)
i'm on ordroid 4.2.0 and se7en kernel. and everything works fine. the nice thing about the international roms are they are rebased on the international 1.29 version of the rom that HTC has already pushed out. But since carriers love to push bloatware and test the roms to make sure they dont break the phones it will take a while before TMO or even ATT to have the 1.29 version of the roms out.

Google's servers are almost instant. I don't see why you would have an issue with that.
So I had the problem where my phone was stuck in roaming and ended up having to RUU back to stock and everything was dandy. Now... when I install a custom ROM again (in this case, the Google Edition for HTC One) the problem happens again.
Any suggestions? Am I flashing wrong or something? I've flashed ROMs sooo many times on my DNA and other phones that I can't imagine it's something as simple as that... but I can't think of any other explanation.
