Does this sort out the huge font in the notifications? If not, can you change that please?
this is just the a task bar theme for now will do more tonight, just wanted to release the taskbar theme since there were a few threads on it will do all the icons and have it done in a few days, also will do the notifications at some point in my bust week.
so far loving this theme, any chance that you will also change the clock and the settings page to look like stock honeycomb too?
Woohoo! Now I can update. I can't stand the TouchWiz theme, looks like I'm going backwards in technology.

The bar icons, the clock, and the settings page are probably the only things holding me back from sticking with the TW ROM.... I put Calkulin's deodex'd version a few days ago and was back to the vanilla 3.1 in a matter of 10 minutes! It really looks horrible and needs to be reverted!

So you're willing to give up all the speed and functionality improvements that touchwiz provides because of some icons and colors?
WTF?

I think it's humorous that people think there were so many improvements from ADDING stuff to the vanilla 3.1 that shipped with the 10.1.... show me 3 people who have had better Quadrant scores after adding a new UI, because I really didn't see it for the 10 minutes I had it on my Tab before going right back to my backed up stock ROM.
And yes, if I overclock my stock 3.1, why WOULDN'T I want to keep it over this silly UI upgrade???

I don't have a ton of apps on my tab, but I get better performance with stock Android than the TW update.
The only improvement I see is the browser. I can use dolphin to fix that, and the new look is very unappealing to me. I also get better home screen performance on standard honeycomb.

1. Stock quadrant scores are around 1500. Touchwiz quadrant scores are 2300.
2. With touchwiz, the galaxy tab 10.1 is now the only honeycomb tablet with no keyboard lag in the browser. Samsung fixed something in the webkit engine or something. Stock honeycomb on the galaxy tab 10.1 and every other tab in existence has the lag.
3. The samsung Widgets are fantastic.
The killer feature for me was fixing the browser lag. I can now finally type on sites like XDA without wanting to break my tab in half.
But the point at my previous post was that I was shocked that people who remove touchwiz because they dididnt like some icons and colors. This is a computer, not a fashion accessory. Did you buy a tablet to do stuff with it, or for it to look pretty?

This is ridiculous, but since I'm bored, I'll play along.......
Prove it - saying Quadrant scores are X doesn't mean anything to me. I said that in the reply, but you just told me what you thought they were. I ran Quadrant on mine stock and it did 22XX, so I don't know where you're getting this 1500 score..... I got that with a deodex'd and OC'd Captivate, a single core PHONE.....
Two words (that have already been said above) - DOLPHIN BROSWER.... I don't use Dolphin because I really don't see any lag that everyone else is talking about. I have a 4GHz OC'd Quad Core PC, so it isn't like I don't know what a fast electronic device is.....
Widgets..... seriously? so THAT'S what's important on this list? You're talking about comparing this to a fashion accessory (which I agree it's not), and you're talking about widgets??? Really? This is NOT a computer, btw.... my Dell Inspiron Duo tablet IS a computer. A 10.1" touchscreen computer running dual boot Windows 7 and Android 2.2. THIS, however, is something that should work quickly, which I feel it really does already, and look attractive. If you didn't want something that looks attractive, you should have saved your money and bought a Transformer - cheaper looking screen, thicker and heavier device, and you can OC that thing and have all the widgets you like without having to worry about people "complaining" on here about this being a "fashion accessory"
And look at this, I'm not the only one who thinks so:
This update brought some new widgets called Live Panels along for the ride, and honestly, what can I say about them? They're widgets. They have the same look and feel of the other features in TouchWiz UX, but using them is purely optional. I opted to [stay] with the widgets that I was using prior to the update, as I found Live Panels to be much too large for my taste.
From an aesthetic aspect, one of the most drastic changes that came with this update is the Settings menu. It shed its sleek black-and-blue Honeycomb look for a coat of white and some new cartoon-y looking icons. Much like the updated Calendar and Email apps, it's not bad, just different.

They also say all the same things you were saying about the speed improvements and what not, but I'm not interested in making something function faster than it already is while losing the form - you're a car guy, it sounds like, so what if you junked up your Evo X while making it faster? You've already got a fast car, so why not making it look cheezy AND fast at the same time? Yeah, I wouldn't do that with either of my performance vehicles, I don't know many that would......

1) The speed improvement on touchwiz is undeniable... I'm sorry, but Touchwiz is WAY faster and a hell of a lot less buggy. On stock 3.1 (again, right out of the box) I had my browser crash no less than 20 times during around and hour of browsing. It also soft booted 3 times during this period. None of this has happened on Touchwiz. I did not run any quadrant tests, but immediately after installing touchwiz I noticed the speed improvement. No scrolling/transition lag, etc.
2) Dolphin for Tab did not fix the typing lag on 3.1 - Right out of the box I installed it any tried it out. It lags as bad as the stock browser.
3) Why do you care if he like the widgets? If he loves the widgets, that is reason enough to go with Touchwiz
Not it may seem like I am defending Touchwiz. In fact, overall, I really dislike the changes. What I am saying is, touchwiz is, in fact, faster than stock honeycomb. However, the redesign is absolutely terrible. Honeycomb went from modern and sophisticated, to blocky and cartoonish. I would absolutely love the speed and bug improvements without the new UI. As much as I want to go back to stock 3.1, the bugs are forcing me to stay with touchwiz.
EDIT Just ran some benchmarks:
Stock 3.1 Honeycomb: 1448
3.1 Honeycomb Touchwiz: 2267
Like I said, Touchwiz is faster
+1 to better quadrant scores with TW. Stock was in 1500s, TW 2200s and TW plus pershoot's kernel hit 2800!
But seriously, can we get back to the thread title: stock theme for TW. Many including myself would find TW rom + stock theme the ideal for the moment.
I mean, with roms and themes and all, it is for each his own, and this thread is about stock theme for tw.
Hi,
I'm kind new to SGS2, coming from a Milestone background with mostly CM roms (kabaldan is an amazing XDA member!)... it's a very different world indeed... =]
Right now, I got my SGS2 for 2 days, already rooted with CF and just returned to stock KE4 kernel to compare/test battery life and other stuff before choosing a kernel to stick... I'm liking the device a lot, it is powerful and compact, maybe it could replace my standalone music player too (O2)... but one thing really catch my eye in the device's screen and it is hard to ignore, the screen sharpening that happens in the, otherwise beautiful, samoled+ screen... is there any way to disable this "feature". I know many of you may like it, so I'm all for choices, but specially working with feature films and images/display background, this kind of effect (sharpen) really bothers me.
So, if anyone has any info about changing/disabling this effect, I would really appreciate.
Tks.
Hey,
After seeing the Nexus S, Im really liking the overall theme and feel of the stock android experience. Don't get me wrong, touchwiz is really nice, but I i prefer the nexus S variant.
Has anyone made or is there any rom that is anything like it? Ive looked at a few roms, Litening, Villain, Sicopats, some 2.3.4 stock roms etc and none really seem similar.
Cheers!
Cyanogen(mod) 7 ?
The only real difference is the launcher. While the stock launcher is not available, you can use something like Go Launcher or Launcher Pro, which you can make look exactly like stock Android.
Both are freely available from the Market, but Launcher Pro does have a paid version as well.

johncmolyneux,
I will check it out, are there any themes you might suggest? i may have to dig around a little to find out how to change the icons and the notification icons etc for 2.3.3 KF4, i did upgrade to 2.3.4 KG6 but wasnt too impressed with the battery drain i was receiving.
Thanks again =D

There's plenty of themes for Go Launcher, but most are paid. Okay, they're only cheap. As for changing icons, it's a doddle with Go Launcher too, but not notifications - only app icons (including the dock icons at the bottom).
As for battery drain, how long have you had the GS2? Mine seemed pretty bad at first, but with regular full charging it just got better and better. I recently got 3 days out of it (with very minimal use though), and I'm currently at 86% after 13 hours, but again, that's with very minimal use. (I don't really get time to play with my phone at work )
I noticed that the battery was considerably better after maybe 2 weeks, so it obviously improves through use & charging.
Hey guys,
I've looked into all developement threads for SG3, all seems good by text but i can't find any video review for'em to see how they actually work.
I'm looking for a fully operational ROM that will be as fast and sleek as an iphone for example (you know that menus and scrolling sticks to your finger like flies to dog ****...), it is really important to me.
currently im running RGUI v5 and it is "fast" (animations are sleek and button response is decent) though the UI responsiveness is not as I expected, Again, when scrolling up-down or moving home screen right to left or even unlocking the device, it seems as if there's a lag between the finger and the actual animation.
Did anyone had such experience with any actual rom on SG3 ?
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance !
best ROM
There is none yet. I agree that stock is full of bloatware and the setting menu is tasteless as well as the SMS,E-mail and phone applications which are horrific. The newer CM-10 bulids are now pretty stable for a daily driver and represent the "smoothness" you were looking for witht he JB animations. I am very happy with it accepting an occasional bug/crush here and there. The greatness of Android is the ability to choose and change so after a nandroid backup you can always revert back to stock or whatever youre used to.
Omega is my daily driver. It's stock without the blot. + other cool features.

Closed, the only way to know if a rom will suit you, is to try it for yourself.
I have tried a lot of latest roms based on XXDLIB JB. For some instance if you open your settings and open a field in your settings, you can sense that when opening that menu, opening takes swiftly a sense of lag, slowness...Not always though, sometimes I open the menus in the settings and the run perfectly smooth. And just trying after a minute, it kinda slows.
I even tried using Custom kernels with that, yet same result. Is it a kind of defect from Samsung's touchwiz rom? Any solution?
Does turning off animations help at all?
Settings - Developer Options, set window animation scale, animator duration scale and transition animation scale to off.
This happens to ma, and is much more noticeable when i open up the dialer, with a second or two pause, with just the bluish bar at the top (where your keypad, logs, favourites and contacts are). I have animations down to .5, but the problem still persists when i have animations off...
The Samsung based DLIB ROMs that I tried all had crap performance compared to earlier ones, so I went back to a DLI4 I think it was (before moving on to AOKP).
Then its with everyone, this is probably my last samsung device. Im moving back to the Nexus line, I bought it for the sake of a better hardware, and here is ? Nothing that special. As well as that we're not capable of running AOSP roms smoothly because of their Exynos close-sourcing thing....What a shame....I have owned S1, S2, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus, and now the S III. Never used Their Touchwiz Rom anyway, always with AOSP; and now with the devs unable to do anything with Samsung's policy, it's better to own a Nexus.

I feel you man. I feel you. On every single XXDLIB rom! No amount of flashing of kernels, mods, etc. fixes this! I also bought the S3 because of the wonderful hardware it offers, only to know after having bought it, that it's lacking proper support by Samsung.
I'm hearing a lot of gossip about an upcoming nexus. I to am feeling switchy-switchy I think? =\
But if it's LG, as the rumors suggest, I don't think I'll feel so 'switchy' anymore.

My bets are on HTC Nexus 5 A 5 inch rocking screen ! And a NEXUS ! That would amazing ! Purely amazing. Especially that I still suffer today from screen sizes ever since I held a Note, my S III 's 4.8 is average for me hehe ! I would SO LOVE a 5 Inch screen Phone!
