Well I looked around one of the posts said that HTC finished the ICS and is now sent to sprint for modifications. Aka adding bloatwares, sprint boot and etc. So if your going to complain to someone make sure its to Sprint. And once they are sent out it'll be in order by your Serial Number so that the OTA (On-The-Air) server doesn't overload. So your neighbor may get it while you don't. So don't worry. I'm going to remain locked and s-on until ICS comes out or somebody makes an ICS ROM based on the official release. So if your not rooted I recommend you do the same. Well its nice sharing all this that I know. And remember, this is all I know from twitters. Facebook, posts, sites, and everything else. Well with this I say goodbye and try to forget about the update so that time goes by faster.
------EDIT------
One of the reason for the thread is to express our knowledge about the ICS so that people don't have problems and they're questions are answered.

OF COURSE!! it would be out AFTER THE WORLD ENDS on 12/21/2012 lol waaaay to go HTC...way to go
I would say the majority of folks on this forum probably DON'T want to upgrade to ICS over-the-air.
1. You'd have to wait until an unlock method is available, so you're pretty much stuck with what ya got (which may not be a bad thing to some).
2. You may or may not be able to "downgrade" to 1.4 HBOOT if you're on 1.6, if you have any intentions of obtaining S-OFF in the future.
3. Once it's available OTA, it's not going to be long before a full working ROM will be available on the board.
Just think hard and twice before you decide to take that OTA, and don't make the same mistake I did of accepting last time around with 1.5. I have performed the downgrade recently thanks to the hard work members on here have contributed.

Mmm takes Sprint 6 months to totally screw up a ROM with all its crap and it takes our great devs on xda a day or two to fix and redistribute a work of art.

Well, now that you mention it I guess I'll downgrade before updating. And yeah you're right. Once you update to 1.6 you should forget about rooting for a while. Gonna go home and downgrade and root. thanks for making me realize this

Well the lack of info being provided is not going to go over well for long around here and right now its pointless till you post some info backing up these claims...
We already have countless ICS threads with debates and such on when its rumored to release...

Hi everyone,
I'm sure you're enjoying your new OS ICS
So, Are we getting Jellybean for the Amaze 4G or not....Why please would be great!
Thanks much,
Stefnuts
To early to say. Since Jelly Bean is not even official, I will say no.
I don't think so, we couldn't even get a stable ice without the leak :/

This phone will be long gone by then... Technology.
I thought their new guarantee thing said phones will be updated to any Google OS release that's within a year of the phone being put on the market. So as long as jelly bean is official before October, supposedly we'll get it...but I agree it's doubtful.

we not getting JB, at least it wont be official
Looks like your question was answered. In the future, search the forums before creating a thread (chsnces are, its already bern posted) and please keep all question related threads in the Q&A section, and all off-topic threads in the off-topic sub-forums under General Discussion. Thank You.

There's no need to ask, it just creates cruft. When someone gets it, they'll post. And if people stop posting "Mom, are we there yet?" messages, everyone won't have to wade through pages of them to see it.

Dude? He was probably just asking because he wanted to flash back to stock or so he could download it. You do not have to post if you have an issue with him posting "Mom are we there yet."
Not to be rude people like you are the reason noobs hate posting/reading to/from forums.

You think an update like this would be available for OTA and no one would have said something though? If it's a matter of him wanting to flash back, then just wait until the forums explode with people posting about whatever problems they've run into, then flash and pull it.
I'm with him on this one, let's not flood the forums with "are we there yet" posts. If common courtesy keeps people from posting, that's not a bad thing.

Well let's just hope that we get the OTA tomorrow or sometime this week and that it's not another 3 to 6 months to see it pushed out.
If I have not missed anything..... Verizon still has not officially said anything about the update being released? We are all still just assuming that the support document that was found was meant to be posted close to the update time? What if the posting of the document was just another mistake in the long line of mistakes that is the Thunderbolt?
The PDF files are publicly posted to me that's an announcement. Should be only another week or so.

and its only another hour or two
Those of you itching for the ota should just wait for the rooted version to be posted. Does anyone know if this will come with a new hboot?
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
Well that's what I'm waiting for is the rooted version and hopefully desensed and eventually kernel source for aosp.

I believe it will have a new hboot. And I believe it will be noticeable, like on the newer phones, if its ever been rooted with an unlocked bootloader. (Showing locked, unlocked, and relocked)
But that's just my guess.

I ran across a thread the other day that listed a bunch of fixes for things that Verizon disabled/blocked on the S4. I can't find that thread now, or even, frankly, remember what forum I found it on. I've searched here and on Rootzwiki and haven't found it yet.
Anyone seen/remember a thread like this?
Thanks!

You're a genius searcher...thanks very much!
Sorry if the title gave you all false hope.
But I wanted to create a thread we can all subscribe to, where we can share our future solution(s) to this problem.
Solutions, up coming updates or even the culprit. Anything we hear from Samsung, Sprint or even the sales guy in the middle of the mall.
Don't know if everyone would like this but I'm tired of checking the different forums and threads excited with hope every time I see a notification, and only to find more complainting or non - sense of how many times you've changed your phone.
