is there a way i can change the network name Example : My Phone is from Fido and it says Rogers Wireless
If it says Rogers then you are connected to Rogers. You must be roaming. Isn't Fido and Rogers now one in the same? And about your above pics.....Can you not select the LTE/WCDMA setting?
Lol those screen shots... getting the combo right without lowering the volume takes practice

Hey guys is there a way to turn off 3G and run on Edge only? When I go into settings >> Wireless and network >> Mobile Networks it only shows "Use packet data" why isnt there a setting to turn off 3G and run on Edge?
Try the network mode....switch to gsm

It doesn't have network mode in the list.
choose gsm only in the network mode. You can also use extended controls and have a widget to switch between edge and 3g

Hi, I own a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830L, my carrier is Movistar Argentina. I bought this phone originally with Android 2.1 (apparently, the firmware was S5830 OKPUFN), which I upgraded just this morning to Android 2.3.4 using Samsung Kies. Point is ever since the upgrade I haven't been able to access my carrier's 3G network (Wi-Fi works fine, by the way).
After said upgrade, I followed this post's (movilzone.org/manuales/como-actualizar-samsung-galaxy-ace-s5830-a-android-2-3-4-gingerbread-en-espana-argentina-eeuu/) instructions to install S5830 DDKQ5, which went by smoothly, although I still can't use the 3G service.
Is there any way to fix this?, or at least go back to the firmware it came with?
Any help will be appreciated,
Julian.
Try to "Reset To Default" From This Window....and make sure that green circle thingy is selected...

Did you check your Apn settings? You could also try flashing another baseband, that's what I have to do to get the 3g working on mine.
Pres dialpad *#*#4636#*#* n u see phone information n select radio select wcdma/gsm auto...

I picked up LTE in the Kingstowne Center at the Giant over there. Only place I have picked one up yet. I read somewhere, perhaps on here, that someone was getting LTE in Alexandria as well. So I guess it just matters where in Northern Virginia you are. I know I don't get one around me at all.
Under mobile network, there's an option for Domestic voice and data. Just curious if they actually do anything. Tried with on and off and they work just fine. Everytime your select it though, it states that it may incur charges.
So any ideas on what it means or does?

I flashed a ROM called Custom Rom Ceberus V5 (S3 Edition) by Frang
but the packet data connection does not appear in status bar when I touch it and I can't connect using packet data connection.
is it the ROM's problem or there's something I need to do?
Here's the screen shot of it..

Check the accespoint names in the 2nd screenshot. Maybe the entries have be deleted. If you need to get them back, you can check online if your carrier shows them somewhere.
