[Q] Possible bricked One - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

I unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP recovery with Hasoon2000's all in one toolkit and then I was gonna adp push a ROM zip and it was taking forever so I just canceled it on the phone and rebooted. Now it's just stuck in the HTC boot screen and when I hold down power button the back and home buttons start flashing. What should I do next?

The phone completely died. Do I charge it and hold it under a bright light then? What will that do?

So I just let it charge for a bit and then do that? Or just do it as soon as I plug it in to charge?

let it charge for a while

OK, I've seen this a few times. I realize there is a light sensor on the front of the One, but the power+volume down always brings up the bootloader - that is the documented sequence (which says nothing about bright lights).
Why do people keep talking about a bright light?

its a safety feature to keep people from booting to bootloader while its in a pocket or bag. if the light sensor doesnt read enough light the phone wont hard reboot or boot to bootloader

Oh, so a bright light isn't required, just not being in darkness. Interesting. That power button is pretty recessed, at least on my build. Thanks for the info.

It actually did work for me and I fixed my htc. Thanks

Random Brick? Help!

So i have had my EVOLTE for a while now (3rd one) and currently I was running OMJ's JB Sense Rom. Everything was working fine, but in the past day, my phone was a little laggy, so I downloaded another ROM and Kernel, and set my phone down to let it download.
I noticed that the phone was getting a little hot, but thought that when downloading large files, it sometimes did. Later I went back to check on the phone while it was on the charger, and it seemed to be going fine, but when I unplugged it, the phone turned off, and now will not turn back on.
The soft button lights will flash when I hold up and power or down and power, but the screen never comes on, and sometimes it will randomly vibrate. Ive been trying to fix it using the unlimited.io ubuntu tools, but I cant get any of them to recognize it as being plugged into the USB. My laptop just keeps seeing it as an MTP device. I am rooted but not S-OFF...
Please Help!
Just Tried using several RUU's including the 3.12 JB RUU and I always get a 155 error.... Im all out of theories...

Did you relock the bootloader before trying the RUU? It won't work if it's unlocked. Can you get into the bootloader or recovery?

I've got nothing, then. Doesn't sound like a total brick, though, especially since the capacitive buttons light up. If you can let the battery die, plug your phone up and see if it will charge. This would be a good sign, in my opinion. Was your battery low when you were trying to flash the ROM?

when i hold down the up and power buttons together, the bottom lights flash until it appears to go off and then it appears to reboot, by vibrating like it usually does upon boot, but that is the last thing that happens. The screen never appears to even come on...

You need to hold the power and volume DOWN buttons after doing the battery pull reset. That should get you into the bootloader.

If the lights still blink, then the device isn't dead. I'd throw it on the charger and forget about it for a few hours, and then try to get into HBOOT again.
It was on the charger from 10 pm till 8am and still nothing is happening... Thanks for all of your help

Trying powering it on again, and connect it to a PC. See if the PC recognizes it at all. That will help determine whether the device is on, and your screen is burnt out, or if something else is wrong. If it does acknowledge a device was plugged in, try an "adb devices" to see if adb can see the device.
If the screen doesn't come on at all, you should have no problem taking it to Sprint and getting a replacement.

Vol Down + Power not doing anything.

Hi!
I am rooted, and was running Android Revolution HD 13.
Tried to install KitKat 4.4 and the status was aborted. I saved a back up in recovery. I entered a boot loop once I restarted the phone. I thought, "No problem! I'll just get into my recovery!" But every time I hold the Vol Down + Power button, nothing happens. It simply shows, "HTC: Quietly Brilliant" and the developer disclaimer at the bottom. Any ideas?

When your at the HTC boot screen hold the power button and both volume buttons.... You'll see your button lights flash like 10-15 times and then it will force shut down your phone. Once it's completely off try booting into recovery again.

So are you thinking theirs some other miracle answer to your question ?
it's a fact that holding down the power button plus vol down till you see the blinking lights (around 10 seconds)
then let off the volume it will shut off, just keep trying.

won't boot. seems responsive when I press power + volume keys (white led lights up).
edit: device gets detected on flashmode using flashtool but it gets undetected soon after and the LED indicator becomes red.
This is exactly what happened to me yesterday! I seem to have flashed a bad recovery after I finally decided to unlock the BL after much deliberation and lusting for some Kitkat goodness. Now it won't turn on. BUT:
It WILL give me a red LED (steady) when I do the Power + Vol-Up dance while connected to USB. However, the computer won't recognize it since it won't turn on at all. No SUS, no EMMA, no nothing. It won't go into Fastboot mode or Flash Mode.
There will be white-purplish LED action when I press Power + Vol-Up. First a single blink, three in a row when I hold it for a few seconds. I won't get a red light when not on USB.
That's all. I had the XTZ charged over night (with red LED on) but that didn't change a thing. This is the first time ever bending an Android to my will went sour and I have done it with dozens. Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Indeed. But since it was clinically dead, I now have a brand spanking new N7 for sale. Let see how much in value it lost in one day

Boot loop issue

So, ever since i updated to a 4.4 rom ive been having some boot loop issues. In the past i just had to plug the phone in and itd boot right up. But today it seems to have gotten into a pickle.
About every 7 or so seconds it reboots itself back to the white HTC splash screen. I can get into fastboot, but after a few seconds it reboots again, and i cant get into recovery at all because its rebooting so fast.
Any ideas on how to fix it, and any ideas on how to prevent it from happening in the future

Thanks, I didn't realize that the bootloader was rebooting as well. Sounds like he's got hardware issues.
Sounds like a hardware issue to me as well. You have a warranty? Otherwise you could try taking it apart and see if the battery has a bad connection or something. I have a feeling it's the soc or something like that though. I feel like the fact that it's happening since you updated to 4.4 is probably a coincidence.

So, i feel that it may be my power button going bad in some way. Because before it goes into the bootloop the 3 hardware buttons flash, as if the power button is being held down, and ive found that to get out of the bootloop i can just 'pump' the power button

Sorry misunderstood
Do you think, maybe, the power button is bad. I've seen a few reports of this.
Sounds to me like it's stuck, pressed. That would cause the repeated reboots, lights flashing, etc.
Edit-- I see you already suspect this is the problem. Never mind...
Well, i flashed back to a 4.3 sense rom yesterday and havent experienced the bootlooping issues since. For reference, before i switched back it got to the point that it was doing it twice an hour
So hopefully it is a software issue and not a hardware issue(knock on wood), id rather not go through the hassle of paying my deductible and getting a new phone

Okay what in the world just happened? Black screen and can't turn my phone off.

I seriously am lost right now. My phone was working just fine, running the Sense 7 rom by santod040 for weeks, and I just tried to unlock my phone just now, and the screen is completely black no matter what I do, I can hold the power button for like 5 minutes and it won't turn off. The charge indicator doesn't come up when I charge it, it doesn't show up on my PC. Nothing.
Can anyone help?
My phone is probably at a very good charge and if its just going to be in sleep this would take a ridiculous amount of time to die.

Doesn't make any sense though. It's clearly on because the notification light is green, which leads me to believe its booted into the OS but is just somehow mad locked up. Guess I'll just wait for it to die and see what happens..
