Hi,
I'm off to Portugal on the weekend (lucky me!) and I need to navigate about 150 klicks from the airport.
I don't really want to spend hundreds of pounds on mobile roaming data so wondered if there was a way to download the entire route in Google Maps or Navigation before I leave?
If not anyone know of a free, or at least very cheap, alternative that will allow me to do this?

1). Rule 1: Search before posting.
2). Nothing to do with the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Apologies I posted here as sgs2 user sorry if wrong.
I was more after recommendations from people in the know as I already knew from Google there is a frankly bewildering array of options.
I have no idea what is the best course and usually find XDA a great place to ask, thinking other sgs2 users may have dealt with something similar in the past.
Many apologies that this is not OK. Will remember for next time.

I'm not saying XDA isn't a place to ask (if you've already searched and couldn't find anything, which I find hard to believe). But there's loads of forums on XDA and your question is not specific to the Galaxy S II. For example, there is a general Android Q&A forum, amongst others.
Navfree on market you'll need to d/l the map.
Good free offline satnav...

Hello all,
I am finally back after being on apple after 9 months and it feels great. I had a question about if there is a root avaiable for the galaxy s3. I havent rooted any devices in months and trying to get back into the groove to it again. Just wondering does anyone recommend a link that can answer all FAQ's about the phone? Thanks in advance. Also is there any recommendations on apps , ROM's , etc?

You're using a Sprint GS3, different model/hardware.
Flashing anything firmware related from this forum will probably brick your ****.
Check here for more infos before you wreck your brand new gs3.

First post your firmware details; Goto Settings - About phone, and post everything you see
If you're talking about the Galaxy S, you're in the wrong forum, mate. Irrespective, there isnt any 'good' or 'bad' ROM, try some of the more popular ones from the Android development section.
As for video walkthroughs, there are a fair few videos on youtube. I'd post links but I'm not sure if thats against the forum rules. PM me if you want em. Although, the guides provided here on xda itself are good enough. You've got root and CWM, thats probably the biggest hurdle overcome right there
Read up about
Cwm
Odin
4.0.4 brickbug
then rooting and flashing kernels/roms
Ill post my details when i get
Because i have come from a iphone im struggling with it,i did look on youtube and could only find videos from the states at&t and sprit and didnt know if it would be the same for me

So I've searched all over the net for info on this, but I can't find any solid guides explaining how to do this. I am trying to get a rezound on to boost mobile, but I'd like to learn how to do it for any phone (specifically Android phones). So any information regarding this will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Flashing the phone to another carrier usually involves, APN changing, chipset programming, and other modifications. While there are similarities in the process for each phone and carrier the exact process is different for every device and carrier. I would recommend taking a look at this guide as well as this guide if your interested in learning more about carrier programming.
