Hi,
I recently put Siyah s2 v6.0 -Rom to my S2 that has stock Jelly bean running in it.
Installed also rom toolbox pro and tried to change something in the status bar, now the statusbar is completely gone.... i think the rom toolbox did greate nandbackup but not sure about it and can't find it.....
Any help?
THX!
Reflash rom. Nand. Will be in cwm or twrp folder look in int sd for cwm bkup and ext sd for twrp bkup
Do you mean by that, that i just flash the rom again with odin?
Didn't work...
Yes. What Rom you on? 4.1.2 sammy rom?

But how do i fix this problem?
By avoiding that app.
Some guys reported similar issues as I recall.
You can check the dev's thread.

Yes but i tried to reflash it but it didn't come back?
So now i try to get the status bar back...
You reflashed stock and the bar is not there anymore?
You're gonna have to wipe dalvik as well.

Hi
Tried a quick search but got overwhelmed with the info
I've had my gs2 since launch and I rooted it and run check checkrom v6 at the moment. I want to upgrade to ics but unsure which way to go as there is a lot of conflicting info
Any advice would be appreciated

Do you want stock ICS or a custom rom ?

You just need to decide if you want a stock or a custom ROM.
As your running checkrom you're obviously not a stranger to flashing ROMs so just do a bit of research into some and flash.
Make a back using clockwork mod and if you want to go back to your old set up you can
A few custom ROMs to try are:
Ressurection Remix
Slim ICS
Elite Rom
Cyanogenmod 9
Will probably try cyanogenmod.
Is it pretty much just flash through cmw as before?

I would suggest rootbox. There is an ICS version and a JB, which is actually really stable
Thanks for the reply
This is where I got confused lol so is root box the new cwm? Or do I use cmw to flash root box then use root box to flash an ics rom?
I'm getting to old for all this

Rootbox is an version of ICS. You use cwm to flash Rootbox (an ics rom)

I would recommend flashing a stock ICS ROM first and from there on flashing the ROM you actually want.

Yes, that is all it is about. Make a nandroid backup first. Then wipe it clean, cache and data, and then flash whatever ROM you choose.
I can relate to your problem, s2 seriously has a lot of ROMs so try them and stick with that which YOU like personally. If you want you can try CM9 only first or any other. Just go to that ROM's thread and they mention how to flash in the OP.

Why? There's so many people like this on xda who say this, but when I asked the Devs, its not even necessary or doesn't help.
I never ever flashed an ics rom and I went straight from stock gb to custom ics without a problem.

I am familiar with flashing. I had the LG Optimus LTE before this and flashed quite a few roms, This phone however has me awfully confused. I have been researching all day. And so far i am under the understanding that the touch cwm are not good and the use the 4.0.1.5 recovery. But what i don't understand is how do you install roms without wiping data/factory reset through cwm? don't most roms require this? and isn't that what causes the superbrick? Sorry for sounding like a noob. but can you tell me how you do your flashing?

Just use a different kernel, like siyah (www.gokhanmoral.com and make it's for the s2 not s3). Then you can wipe data. Just didn't not be on 4.0.4, and have a samsung based kernel (the kernel dev should have info in the op). Once you're on a safe kernel you can flash whatever you want and wipe data.

Yeah, you should be able to flash through Odin. And you can flash back to stock by getting a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin

Yes I wiped data, cache and dalvik cache. Couldn't get into recovery so i just re-flashed my firmware via odin. All is good now and successfully flashed cm9 with no issues. Must have been a bug in the rom.
Hello,
First of all I'm a complete noob in S2 android stuff.
On the beginning I've installed jellybam ROM but then the problem appeared. After rebooting my phone just won't find the internal memory. Once it finds it other time not. I couldn't use my phone like that so I've installed jelly king ROM v.1.7 (by a mistake) + Dorimanx-V5.92 kernel. In this ROM everything worked fine. No problems with the memory. After that I've noticed that there's a newer version (1.9). So I decided to flash it. Everything seemed to be fine but the problem came back. So my question is: do you have any solution for it? Have you had such a problem and how did you solve it? Might it be a kernel problem?

Hmm. now I'm on jelly king v.1.7 with this dorimax kernel and it works pretty good. But I would like to change to this jellybam ROM but this internal memory issue keeps me away from doing that. Can you recommend me some good kernel for this ROM? Dorimax doesn't work. I'll have to repair it today.

Already tried them, but nothing changes. I have made some tests how to fix it and "fix permissions" seems to be working for now. However I'll see tomorrow, if the problem doesn't return.

So what I did was:
-wipe cache
-mount emmc/ preload/ sdcard/ efc
-fix permissions
This helped but this doesn't work permanently.
However I had to change to other ROM because of deep sleep issues

I installed cm 10.1 over my stock rom via SS accidentally without having a backup... Now I`m running cm 10.1 on stock alot and slot 1, but only the slot one works (as supposed).
I had eclipse v4 ICS rom installed on stock, which i did via BMM, and now I`m not sure what to do.
Since the rom installed on slot 1 (cm 10.1) is working with no issues, I`m leaving it this way for a while, but I`d really like to clean up installations in future to install JB on stock with no slots, since I`d have more internal space available.
So the question is: What do I have to do to clean up my razr gsm and start over from a clean JB on stock slot (LATAM, isn`t released yet, right?).
And finally, should I face any issues if I install EU JB release?
Thanks in advance!
If you want to start fresh you have to go to stock recovery and full wipe, the flash your stock latam firmware of choice..

How do I know which is the latest Latam? Which is the difference between 6.5.1, 6.7.2 and 6.7.3? ICS, JB (4.1.2) and JB (4.2.2)?
Sorry for so many questions

i think the 6.7.2 one, because i flashed retail eu ics and the number is 6.7.2
Well, I`m trying 6.7.2-180_SLC-35_LATAM_SPYDERICSRETBRLA_ServiceCFC_fastboot.xml.zip... All I should do is restart phone on AP Fastboot, full wipe and flash it? (RSD?)
Btw, do I have to uninstall SS or delete rom slots?

Hey xda,
A few days ago I saw a thread go by about efs. I need to fix a galaxy s3 and the only thing I can use right now is my own phone and the search funxtion is buggy..
Can anyone elaborate on efs v2 and what it is? I believe the phone was running 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 before and I need to restore a nandroid. Will this cause problems?
Also it is running a custom kernel. Will stock kernel be installed once I restore the nandroid? Any information regarding efs v2 is very welcome.

No need to make a new thread. All details you need to know are mentioned in various efs threads. Like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2393289
I dont know about restoring nandroid but in my experience flashing a 4.1.2 rom on a 4.3 rom caused me ALOT of trouble. Might be due to a change in modem in the process, even flashing an older 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 nandroid did NOT fix my problem. So i dont recommend you do that.
So if I understand right than I can only safely flash 4.3 and up? Thanks for the link!

Its not impossible to flash back down, there are certain procedures to backup and restore the efs but its better to avoid the trouble. No need to write thanks, just click the thanks button
