Since the hardware of i9200 and i9205 are identical...is it possible for me to flash a i9205 rom into my i9200...so i can get lte ????:silly::silly::silly::silly::silly::silly:
Nope. They are not identical, the i9200 is 3g only and will not get LTE signals.
To be perfectly honest, I lol'd.

You should flash the leaked note 3 rom.. You get a lot more out of your mega that way..
Full HD Super Amoled, Snapdragon 800 and 16GB Internal memory instead of 8

you guys are being very helpful!:crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
Instead of being smartass can someone explain why this is such a stupid assumption? I mean if both devices have the same SOC and if the LTE radio built into a SOC, why there's no possibility for it to work? I mean in theory? We cross-flash kernels and they work...

Because they are not identical. The i9205 uses Snapdragon 400 MSM8930AB while the i9200 uses Snapdragon 400 MSM8230AB.
The 8930 supports LTE and the Snapdragon 400 8230 does not. Kernels might work but without the support you won't magically get LTE.
according to this post they both have MSM8930:

I got my info from pda.net: i9205 i9200
Also, the i9205 has a secondary cellular module for LTE that's why it works for both 3g and 4g while the i9200 only works with 3g.
A modem 3G have a size about 12 MB. A modem LTE have a size about 48 MB.
My question: The modem partition on i9200 can be smaller then the modem partition LTE on i9205?
Must compare size of partitions. Look here the i9205 have the modem on 3 partitions. You must see also on i9200 if is same:
lrwxrwxrwx root root 2013-01-01 02:26 hidden -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p22
lrwxrwxrwx root root 2013-01-01 02:26 modem -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
lrwxrwxrwx root root 2013-01-01 02:26 modemst1 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p11
lrwxrwxrwx root root 2013-01-01 02:26 modemst2 -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p12
lrwxrwxrwx root root 2013-01-01 02:26 pad -> /dev/block/mmcblk0p8
Valente
PS: Can You se for me on i9200 whit Root Explorer --> dev -> block -> platform -> msm_sdcc.1 -> by-name...
here, how modem partitions are there?
Thanks
I thought Galaxy Mega 6.3 i9200 is similar with Lumia 920. Just change the firmware using LTE supported firmware, then the LTE can be activated hehehe

Ok, I Just got my MK808 mini pc and I found a huge problem because I was planning to replace my tv box for at least 10 months and if I dont solve te problem it ill not las that longer...
The chip is a RK3066 (many tabs have the same chip)
It was sold as a 1.6ghz dual core... and the problem is not that it doenst go any further than 1ghz, it just doent scales down.... (stays on 1ghz indenpendent of what you are doing, and thats to much... i gets hot and without any need....)
I used this app and 2 others to confirm this...
And if I go to CPU I see the time it spent on each clock speed... and it is always on 1000mhz... (100percent) BUT the app also shows that it has the 1600mhz available... so it seems to me that the cpu is set to 1ghz/1ghz or 1ghz max with the performance kernel.... (why the f would the manufacturer do this??)
So I tried the finless ROMs 1.4, 1.5 and 1.5A and 3 different kernels on the 1.5 and I get the same result
If I change the max or min speed on a cpu app (tried NO FRILLS and rom toolbox PRO) nothing happens, it still showing 1000mhz (1008 i think)
Tried to set another governor and still the same...
set on boot and reboot but still the same...
any solution ??
thanks

The Android OS, pre-load apps occupied same storage, and the system need to seperate some memories as ROM ( for install apps and stock app data,), and the GPU default occupied about 40M-50M as cache. so it's only show about 4.8GB
Flash Firmware
I think Flash new firmware can resolve the problems.

Yes, I know it is a China phone and yes, I know it is probably a pain in the but to root and find custom roms for, but still. It is damn CHEAP!
Anyways, I have tried to root this phone without success. I have tried SuperOneClick and other funky scripts I found online, but still no go.
I was hoping someone could give me some pointers when it comes to rooting these "no-name" china phones with custom firmwares.
This specific phone has some CD-R KING custom rom with Android 4.0.8.
They claim it has 1500mhz CPU, but I'm skeptical.
It's most likely has this CPU:
MT6573: ARM11 (ARMv6) CPU at 650 MHz / GPU: PowerVR SGX 531 / 3G,HSPA compatible
But I don't see any signs of 3G.
However, the phone is running pretty fine overall.
This is the info I get from "Android System Info":

Any help getting this device rooted would be appreciated.
Ok, I managed to root it
Now it's clear that it has a 650mhz CPU. However, it seems it is pre-clocked to 806mhz.
No luck with ClockWorkMod though. Is there some other recovery software that can be used with these China "no-name" phones?

I'm not allowed to post URLs on this forum, but you will probably find it if you search for "RootTool_setup.exe" on Google. The icon should be blue with a shield on it. The program is in Chinese.
Please post all your findings in this thread, like when you manage to install a Recover tool or if some custom ROM works for you. Thanks.

Hi will it be possible to unlock the FDD LTE baseband B20 (800) on the 32gig Pro Version ?
The used this chip, is a SKY77643-11 and he did all basebands. http://www.skyworksinc.com/Product/3065/SKY77643-11
Teardown there u can see the inbulit baseband chip
i think is posible... wait a few weeks...
Really, you can unlock basebands? If someone can unlock 700 Mhz (Band 28) that would be insane, they would sell like hotcakes in Australia.

Looks like you need to:
1) Root your phone
2) install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobileuncle.toolbox
3) go to "Engineer Mode" -> "Engineer Mode (MTK)" -> "Bands"
But I don't know if this tool is for changing or just checking bands ( but that's where the screenshot was taken from)
I don't want to check it because we know that it don't have the lte 20.
You don't neeed to root yout MTK phone to run the buillt in Engineer Mode app. Just open the dialer and enter *#*#3646633#*#*
Be very careful what you do in Engineer Mode.

Any news ?
And then any news?its possible this or want any code?
you don't need to try and the engineer mode can not add any band even wcdma or LTE
Would it be possible to flaseband from 2014819 (Brazil Version) in order to open different bands? Isn't this something that would be controlled from the baseband layer?
Edit:: 2014819 has Qualcomm SOC, no doubtful
This MTK chip support any band (worldwide) but Xiaomi need to pay a lot of money for just one band. So they just bought 3 for int version.
The best way is to open a Thread and collect money. I think our chinese friends will help us ^^

method but with SM-T220 specific software NOT the
SM-T500/T505 software, it worked for meAlso there is an unofficial TWRP for 10" SM-T500 here https://www.mediafire.com/file/khmq9jajz16gidq/SM-T500-TWRP_3.5.2.tar/file Perhaps this can be modified for the smaller 8.7" SM-T220 model ? I do not have the skills, if you have any luck please post a reply here, thanks.
