[Q] Problem with flashing ROM(s) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have tried to flash warious ROMS on my unbranded Allwinner Q88 tablet, but every time I try flashing a ROM with livesuit, it says "Upgrade fails : 0x162". I have tried 20 different ROMS now and i'm always getting that error.
Now for some reason I installed CWM recovery, which gives me the problem that I can't boot the tablet, it will only boot into CWM recovery. Is there anything i can do, or should I just throw it out? Hope you guys have some ideas..

so boot into CWM and then flash a rom..
Or restore the stock rom via backup and restore..

You should flash back to stock ROM for testing.
Make sure your phone working well with stock ROM, then make everything again for custum ROM (Root, flash CWM Recovery, ....)

Rooted i9100 ics rom fail, please help

Hi I have rooted my UK i9100 with odin and successfully installed resurrection remix previously. When trying to flash an updated version I stupidly forgot to factory wipe and now my phone wont boot, it gets stuck on the rom boot screen and i cant get into cwm.
I can get into download mode and from there have tried flashing another rom via odin (litening rom) to see if that would boot to get me into cwm but that freezes on the boot screen also. I tried to use Galaxys2recovery as shown on zedomax youtube channel but then realised that is done from gingerbread only. I tried reflashing "CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LP6-v5.2-CWM5" via odin and then the litening rom again but that still hangs when trying to boot.
Is there something obvious I should be doing? ..I am (unsuprisingly) a noob
Thank you
you could have asked at the first time itself, before various yourown attempts ?
if you are able to get CWM now, try to install the ROM after data factory reset and all the wipes + system format from Mounts & storage.
if it didnt help again go to CWM do all the wipes and format system, and switch off and get into the download mod and flash a GB stock rom from ODIN
I can get into download mode and from there have tried flashing another rom via odin (litening rom) to see if that would boot to get me into cwm but that freezes on the boot screen also

that's the thing, i cant get into cwm, or at least i don't know how to. Is there a file I can install from odin that will put me straight into cwm without having a working rom?
why do you wait to boot the phone to get into the CWM,
didnt you try Vol-up+Home+Power while phone is off

not-flash-able P7510, help

hi,
i got a P7510 working fine, flashed to AOKP Milestone4 4.0.3 (or 404) ... today i was trying to revert back to stock 3.x, but ODIN couldn't flash all the way, it always stuck somewhere when flashing system.img
i tried many ways, with or without PIT file, no luck ... tried on many different version of stock rom, same problem
it can still go download mode, it can still be flashed to CWM recovery ... but when flash stock rom, it stops ... anyway to put custom rom to the internal memory to flash thrugh recovery?
by the way, if i go CWM recovery, i can mount every partitions except /data ... bcoz the partition is broken? how can i repartition it?
thanks in advanced.
thnx for watching, it is solved by just using another pc ...
weird, but yup, it flashed all the to the end, and phone just reboot itself into setup screen ...

[Q] acer iconia a500 recovery verified failed

I have an Acer Iconia a500 which last had ics flexreaper. It worked great for many months but suddenly my tablet stopped booting up. I tried to install a different rom thinking maybe it just had errors and it still would not boot. I then decided to try reinstalling flexreaper but when i tried to boot into recovery, it says recovery verification failed. the problem being that it still won't boot up either so i am unable to reinstall clockmod recovery nor am i able to install a working rom. I am at a loss on how to boot it up now.

i have actually solved part of my issue. i now have the standard stock recovery, but now i need help finding a rom that does not require cwm to install. i have searched everywhere and the roms i find either require cwm or are a broken link.
How to fix.
Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816560 and download one of the stock images for your a500. Then name it "update.zip" make sure it is typed without any capital letters or it will not work. Then put the update.zip file on an SD card and boot up your tablet by pressing power + volume down and it should start installing the update.zip(you may have to try different stock firmwares from the website before it actually works).

Don't let it auto reboot after the recovery flashes. Either uncheck auto reboot or just hit the combo for recovery when the phone reboots. Many newer Samsung phones have a script that reinstalls the original recovery if it realizes that you have changed it. You have to install another rom or root it and remove the script and reflash the recovery and it'll stick if you just want stock rooted.

didn't worked...... after i flash the recovery (i'm in download mode) i boot directly into recovery.... the same problem
try to instal the recovery via rom manager.....seems to work.....but when i want to boot from rom manager into recovery it show me an error ("an error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands !" )
what should i do now ?
http://galaxyyoungs6312.blogspot.com/2014/01/clockworkmod-recovery-for-galaxy-young.html
6310 + 6312 use the same recovery.
yeah....but i tried that rooting method and it didn't work....
maybe i can flash a new rom from ADB but i can't pass the signature verification
any ideas ?
Well I can tell from your pictures that you didn't follow the suggestion of trying SuperSU, but that might not help anyway. That Framaroot version is an older one. Get the updated version from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276 and use SuperSU instead of Superuser. Sometimes you have to run it a couple times before it'll go through. Reboot in between tries. Here are better instructions for the rest of the process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460029
man ...didn;t work... ... tried at least 5 times .....
or....i can flash a rom from ADB but i can't pass the signature verification....
a have an ideea ....maybe i can flash via odin a rom whit a custom recovery ...from there i can flash an old backup of mine .....it's good to proceed right that ?
