Well, try repairing it with SUS. I would recommend not to buy electronics from eBay. No doubt, it's one of the greatest selling sites but now I think the sellers are not trustworthy any more. Anyways, repair it using SUS or flash back to GB. If it don't solve the problem, contact SONY.

Well, my Xperia P Sim Slot was also damaged. I went to the SONY repair center and they asked me for Rs. 6000. I refused and checked on the net. You can the buy the part here:-

http://www.eforchina.com/view/14318...r-Sony-Xperia-P---LT22i--Xperia-S---LT28i.htm
But then you will have to repair it yourself or contact a mobile repair person. he will charge you some money around Rs. 500-1000 but will get your work done. I didn't hava a PayPal account so I contact a local mobile repair shop and the repaired it for me for Rs. 2500. Now it's working good. If you have a PayPal account go for the above method or contact a local repair person. Hope I helped.

Does anyone know where to send a sony xperia x10a for repair The usb port is broken Its rooted reckon be safe to send to SE
Where you bought it?
The same thing happened to me, i just contacted the ones who sold it to me and said that it wouldnt charge, and they fixed it. (That is actually a problem with the Xperia)
So my advice is: Contact the people who sold it to you, and say it wont charge

Hi,
I have the same problem. But when I sent back my x10 mi-December to SE, I got it back 2 weeks later without repair. The said that the usb connector is broken and it's not covered by the warranty. Now, I have contacted my vendor directly and I am waiting for their answer.
The usb problems seems very common with the x10. If the vendor won't repair the phone, I will try to take legal action against them and SE. I have already contacted a government service here in France and they told me that they should repair it.
Is there some else who managed to get his phone repaired?
After sony annunced :
Sony Mobile Communications has identified that the display on a limited number of Xperia S smartphones may show a slight yellow tint if exposed to temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. This is limited to a small number of units and the cause of this has been corrected. Any consumer observing this slight yellow tint on the display of their Xperia S is welcome to contact their local customer service centre and Sony Mobile Communications will resolve this at no cost to the consumer.

You only waited 7 minutes before replying to our own thread? What do you think his is, and IRC chatoom where you will immediately get 20+ replies?
As for me, here in Singapore, the only difference is the costs - local sets, with a local warranty, get the screen replaced for free. For imported sets you need to pay the servicing fee which is not much.
Remember that the purchase price in a country helps pay for the serving fees in that country.
If you want to give feedback to sony, you should do so on the sony talkback forum.
I didnt know its only changing the screen will solve it , even so Sony in Brazil wont even accept taking the xperia S , i said i pay for the fix but the answer they dont give support for imported cell, so i have to buy the screen from ebay and find some one to change it for me ( pay for changing screen ) !! thats what i am mad about 10 days i have the phone and it will coast me 2 new phones !! and its all SONY Falt !!

This is because you imported an item from other country. Sony Brazil won't fix the phone because the warranty is not cover in Brazil. I have the same situation before. There is only 2 options to fix the phone. Either get friend from Hong kong and ask them to fix it for you or find a local phone repair store to see if they can fix it. Maybe you can wait until Brazil official release xperia s and ask them to fix it(In this case, you might have to pay the full price for fixing).

If i keep it that way do u think it will damage the phone ? cos i have a friend who is willing to buy it from me, he sow the yeallow spot but he didnt care about it..
I had a z2 from which I unlocked via o2 for free ( excellent service ) but my phone became faulty so sent it off to Sony for repair. Sony sent me a replacement phone which was o2 branded and o2 locked. I asked o2 for the unlock code but have been told the imei isn't on the database.
So I want to try buying an unlock code but wanted someone who's bought one successfully to recommend someone to me.
Anyone help ?
Thanks Si

Unlocked both my z1 and z2 from this ebayer. It will take a few days but it'll definitely work. Read the description first.
At £15 yes it's a lot but cheapest I could find and with eBay you could always refund if something goes wrong.
As for Sony repair service I need to send mine in too maybe you could take a look at my thread and help me out too.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I am in the same situation.
I have a z2 which I bought from vodafone, without a sim. I got it unlocked back in January no problem via an ebay seller.
Recently, I had to send my z2 back to sony for repair due to a charging problem, which was fixed (by replacing the board).
Great, but they also sent it back locked to vodafone, with different IMEI.
Vodafone will not unlock it even though I'm willing to pay.
Several ebay sellers have failed, saying things like "server problems" and "not found in database"
I'm really stuck, I'm on my 5th ebay unlocker now but not very optimistic about it.
The phone is not barred, it's only showing a network lock with tries available in the service info screen, as expected.
Does anyone know of a service that will work? I've had my z2 back for 3 weeks now and cannot use it
Hello XDA,
I am in a bit of a sticky position. I have a Sony Xperia Z2 D6503. I purchased the phone from a 3rd party seller on Amazon. The purchase was made around 3 months ago. With the £350 purchase i got standard earphones, charger and original box with the phone. The best thing the phone came with and i assume came with every Sony smartphone is a 2 year warranty.
This warranty entitles me to give the phone back and they repair the problem. Problems only being something i could not have caused, like overheating motherboard.. Or whatever.
The problem i have is my phone wont allow me to use any SIM card. It did when i first got it then after a couple of weeks the phone stopped sending or receiving phone calls and text messages . The weird thing is the 3G internet still works when i have my SIM inserted in the phone.
I obviously got worried and started searching why it happened & how can i possibly fix this. The research i done gave me the conclusion of my phones IMEI is blocked. So straight away i contacted Amazon and they gave the money back and i still have the phone (strangely)
I am now wondering weather i can use my Sony warranty and see if they will repair the phone even though it may be blocked. I have found out that i will not get in trouble as i have legit receipts that show i bought this phone before it was blocked and i have a reasonable reason why i have it.
Would Sony repair or replace my phone even if the IMEI is blocked? Considering the phone is in warranty and i have receipts to prove the purchase.
Please can you give me other possible solutions to this annoying problem.
Kind Regards,
HaroonZ2
I don't see why you shouldn't go for it, the alternative is to end up with an expensive media player.
But hasn't the seller contacted you yet? I find this pretty strange, but there's no reason to have any legal troubles if the third party didn't do anything about it.

The people I bought the phone from stopped replying over Amazon. So as policy amazon had to repay the money. However, they don't care what I do with the phone.
That's what I had in mind. I have a great media player. And £350. But imagine if I had a working sony Z2 and £350. You can't blame me for trying..
Cheers
Go to Sony and tell them about your problem, you've got nothing to lose.
Your point is valid, you've done nothing wrong, and even if they refuse to repair it on warranty, you get to keep the phone.

Have you tried going to Settings> Wireless & Networks > More...> Internet settings (Download settings for internet and MMS). Also SIM cards do fail from time to time. I would get another from your carrier and then check that your APN settings are correct.

Yes, this was one of the many things I have tried. Ive even considered changing the IMEI.. But I won't.
I have ran in to a dead end with this problem.. It seems like there is not much more I can do apart from taking a risk and giving it too Sony.
Cheers,
Haroon
I have a warranty concern as well, though it isn't an issue with a blocked IMEI.
I tried to pull out the sim tray today and it got stuck and in my frustration (and having no other solution) I used tweezers to pull it forcefully out. Pretty sure it got stuck on the contacts of the MB and bent them, since the tray won't go back in now. Now I can see this as kind of my fault, but not really right? I didn't do anything to make it get stuck and I'm not sure how else I'd have been able to access the sim slot. I obviously won't tell them I forced it out, but any chance they'd fix it on warranty?

I'm sure they'll charge you for that.
They consider these type of fault, as user misuse.

Yes that is something you will have to pay for. Like I said, Sons free warranty deal is only applied when the phone has an internal or external fault cased by the phone itself. Something a consumer damaged breaches the Sony warranty. Therefore you would have to pay some fee.
I don't know what you would pay; it may be something like a charge for sony looking at the phone then extra charge for it to be repaired.
Just received my Z Ultra Today, and had some issues. Firstly, it was randomly powercycling. The 4.4.4 update seems to have fixed the worst of that.
However, the issue remains that the device will not read a sim card. I've tried four different sim cards from four known working devices and two carriers. It just reads, "Invalid Card- Emergency Calls Only".
I've gone through and repaired it several times using the PC Companion and i've tried several resets as well- nothing.
At my wit's end.
HALP!
Edit: Yes, i do have a valid IMEI. Knowing that, should i return the item to the seller?
I would return it.
Is it new?
Send it to Sony, if you can. Mine was defective, purchased on eBay. Called Sony, sent to repair center in Texas, they paid for shipping. Exactly one week later, device returned. WAS BRAND NEW, IN RETAIL PACKAGING!! ? Totally ? . Writing from it now. My problem was with the headphone ? jack not working at all, and a few other issues . So, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a totally new MOBILE PHONE ? !!
