[Q] Nexus 4 - source of nightlies is latest stable? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
maybe it is not a good question but as I just had the stable 10.1.2 with latest masterkey fixes I´d like to ask if the nightlies which are produced after its release are build on 10.1.2 too?
Because I do not see any update on my Nexus 4 if I choose "new versions (incl. nightlies)", which confuses me now a little bit. Only if I choose "all versions (incl. nightlies)" or just look the internet page.
Thanks for a short explanation.

CyanogenMod 7.2 Cooper versions

Sorry for the noob question.
Whats the difference between the following on the cyanogenmod download site
Nightly Cooper 02.09.12
RC1 Cooper
RC3 Cooper
Stable
I thought our device wasn't supported anymore but the nightly cooper is dates 02.09.12 ?
Thank you.
at first i was like: lets post a picard and riker double facepalm
but the i was like: no OT here. give serious answer!
the stable release is -very the suprising- the release labeled with "STABLE"! here afaik (used till 2 weeks ago) everything works fine.
the RCs are just "better betas". most of it works but sometimes it could be a bit buggy
and nightlys are either the first development steps/milestones or -like in this case, where there are nightlies newer than STABLE- they are just created by a bot every sunday. they are automated builds and sometimes contain new things. but as coolya said, there is nothing left to do on CM72 for ace.
tl:dr: dont care about the nightlies. use stable if you want a stable system for everyday use, where everything works without any problems!
No, Stable has some known bugs such as not able to answer call with earphones , the newer Nightly versions have solved that.
But true, seems like Coolya has given up our device and there is no new development for Cooper....
And btw, this is not the right section ,poat these kind of questions to Q & A plz

[Q] Which CM should I choose? (Xperia S)

I saw that my device Xperia S (nozomi) has CM 9.0 and 9.1 under 'stable' category at get dot cm (I'm not allowed links, this is my first post).
Seeing the development forum here, I see CM 9.1 is being worked upon... so does that mean 9.0 is stable & released?
I'm not much aware about CM's release cycle, etc. also couldn't find a question here. If it exists, II'm sorry.
CM9.1 is the latest version for ICS, CM10 is the latest version for JB. The CM9 code base is stable, which means only bugfixes go in there. The CM10 code base is in development, which means new features and bugs can and will be added before release. Also, camera doesn't work on CM10, but it works on CM9.
Thread moved to Q & A section, post in the relevant section next time.

[Q] Question about 4.2.2 and Chrome

I know my TAB 2 android version is 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (CyanogenMod RC5) but I still have few Questions
1 What means JDQ39E ?
(this row of letters and numbers cames after OS version number at Google Chrome's about Chrome list)
2 I know what means Stable and Nigthly after CyanogenMod's version number but what that RC means ?
3 and why on the CM 10.1 RC5's Changelog is writed "this is first CyanogenMod for device GT-P3100" but still I got RC5 when I uptade RC2 so I think RC1 is first ?
4 then why Chrome is not open sourced but all else GApps are ?

First, I'm a noob too, so just can answer couple of your question
RC means Release Candidate. Those are "last builds before stable release, few minor issues, mostly stable and safe for daily use" In the wiki page of cyanogenmod says that.
Maybe the didn't change the log. "this first CyanogenMod for device GT-P3100" or is the first the published, really don't know any more

The difference Is, that the nightly versions may contain some bugs and the release versions are final and approved. I would suggest you to use the Release version as new Nightly versions appear every couple of days and may not be as stable as the release versions.

Official CM11 nightly, I think....

I saw today that the CM website has a nightly build of CM11 available for the Inc4g now. It's the first nightly build they have posted as far as I can tell. I don't know if it's different than the unofficial CM11 build posted on the development forum so I don't know if it requires any special recovery version like the unofficial build did. I'm also assuming it uses the same gapps version as the unofficial build does.
Just thought i'd mention it for anyone interested.
