Ok, I got a question what to do now.
The following happened.
I updated the nightly CM10.1 from the settings menu. Normally this works fine. I forgot to make a backup (DUMB). When CM10.1 restarted it never came further than the boot screen (Samsung logo). After waiting for more than 30 minutes I decided to restart the device (get rid of battery). Now CM10.1 won't start again.
Luckily I had a backup, but it was from CM9 (at least I can call). I already tried to install CM10.1 again, but whit no result (bootlooping again).
How to install CM10.1 again? From CM9. What did I forget?
Hope someone can help.
Cm10.1 is no good. Unreliable I think. Try aokp milestone 2 for a solid Rom. If you really want it
Mounts and storage
Format
Data
system
Cache
Wipe dalv cache in advanced
Flash Rom
flash gapps
wipe cache
wipe dalv
Reboot
Enjoy.

I've only just installed CM10.1 on my S2 today. I encountered the same problem with cm-10.1-20130722-NIGHTLY-i9100
However, 0723 worked fine for me. Give that (the latest at time of writing) a go perhaps?

Easy way to put it is cm 10.1 unstable aokp milestone 2 stable. Simple as that. Also more changeable things in aokp. Cm fanboys wont like what I put but they no its the truth  glad you sorted your problem

So I have seen quite a few threads about installing ICS but I have yet to see anyone install it over MIUI. Is there a suggested method for this?
I couldnt get it to install over MIUI, it kept throwing me an error, I restored to cm7 and it flashed fine
Thanks for the reply, I don't have a backup of cm7 as the wifi never worked for me on it. Is there really any reason to goto cm7 first?
To answer my own question I guess I could run a Titanium Backup restore of MIUI on CM7 then upgrade... So that should be one benefit

I installed cm9 over miui. Did wipe dalvic, wipe cache, wipe data/factory reset, installed from sdcard. Worked fine.
Note - I hadn't done a lot in miui, so I didn't mind wiping and reinstalling apps.
Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for the reply not sure doing a wipe then fresh install really counts as installing over miui but good to know it worked out if it comes to that... I am still on the fence about installing alpha 0.5 as I am really happy with how I have miui setup at the moment...
I'm a huge MIUI fan and have been running it on my Mytouch 4G for a couple months now. I put it on my HP Touchpad and couldn't stand it after a couple days. It was just way too buggy. I installed ICS a few nights ago and it is running beyond what I expected! You could try both and back them up then switch back to the other if you don't like one.

What I meant was, I was running miui. It was my 1st android install.
When cm9 alpha0 came out, I installed it as I said by cwm wipe; then flashed cm9.
I like cm9 a lot better than miui. Feels more like a real tablet app. Please don't ask me to define that .
I am currently running the CM9 4/8/12 nightly. It was the first ROM that I have installed so far since getting my TP less than a week ago. I wanted to try the 4/12 nightly and just had a quick question before I do so.
I am using cell phone ROM flashing logic here, so please correct me if I'm wrong. Do I just need to download the latest CM9 nightly zip, put it on the root of my TP and just flash the zip through CWM? Of course I would clear cache and dalvik first. That's how I would do it with my phone but I just want to make sure that it's the same with the TP before I bork something.
Thanks!
I went from CM9 to AOKP. It was my first ROM switch. All I did was clear cache/dalvik and did a factory reset. I wanted to do a factory reset just to be safe. I dont know how it acts yet when you just clear cache. But the way I did it worked just fine.

You are right... just download the latest nightly zip to your internal sdcard and flash away... wiping Cache and Dalvik in the process... nothing really different here as compared to the methods you used on your phones.
Thanks fellas!
I need help please!
I have a Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman wt19i, I had cyanogenmod 10.2 nightlies dated 8/Oct/2013 installed on it and it was working just fine, no problems at all, so today I thought I should check if there is a new nightlies and I checked and found one dated 4/Dec/2013, I downloaded it and installed it the usual way through Recovery --> Wipe Cache --> Wipe Dalvik --> Install Zip --> Install Gapps, and it went fine.
I rebooted my phone after installation and I couldn't turn the WIFI on, it just doesn't turn, I re-installed again, then I wiped data and re-installed again, then I re-installed the older nightlies that was working fine, but nothing worked.
So in short WIFI was working fine on a October nightlies and after installing a new nightlies it doesn't turn on no matter what I try.
Sorry for my bad English.
Help please!
Try to go back to your old ROM. After flashing always backup tour current ROM.

I didn't backup my old ROM but I did wipe data / cache and install it again, but it didn't work!
Maybe it is a problem with a kernel. Try flashing the latest kernel, if there are, that comes with every nightlies zip that you flash.
If you are using other JB kernels then maybe there is WiFi modules on its thread.

Thanks.
This phone is currently outdated anyway, and it has taken a lot of beatings and needs to replace the charger port, so I decided to retire it and buy the Huawei Ascend Mate.
This event was a hard lesson for me, I always took installing custom ROMs lightly, but from now on I will only do it if the ROM was tested and stable.
I've run into a problem flashing the VANIR & COMMOTIO rom for the e970. I was originally on slimkat beta 3.0, then I went to TWRP and wiped data, system, chache, and dalvik. Then I flashed B64-Commotio-geeb (the latest nightly) and finally I flashed standard Banks gapps 4.4.2. Now I rebooted, and my phone has been stuck on the bootup screen saying "COMMOTIO" for the last 2 hours.
I am pretty sure everything I did was right, but I'd appreciate it if someone pointed out a mistake or fix. I don't want to restore from nandroid if I don't have to.
1. commotio has had issues since 20th nightly
2. Use up to 22nd for vanir
3. Try march 01 of vanir without the kernel b64. Then try the kernel afterwards

I ended up having to restore via Nandroid, then download an older nightly and flashing that. It worked, and now I can flash the new nightly with no problems. Weird that the newest nightly was unable to boot up alone.

Very good. Barely any bugs and the customization was awesome. However battery sometimes felt short, theres no theme support and no halo.
Hello!
My phone was lagging so hard when I used Samsung's stock ROM, and I decided to install CM... All good... I've been using CM 10.2 (stable) 2 months, it was running smoothly and it really impressed me. But when I started to install snapshots and newer versions (10.2 is pretty old) the lag has returned and my phone has switched back to running like [email protected]#t...
What can I do to get the smoothness back?
I'm currently running :
CM11 M12
TWRP v2.8.0.1
No task manager installed on my OS.
Thank you!

Try backing up all your data and start fresh with CM11 M12. My S3 is on CM11 M12 and its blazing fast, so something went wrong during your upgrade.
It should be back up to snuff after a fresh start. If it isn't, there is something wrong with your hardware.
Hopefully this helps!

Try a full mega wipe ie not a normal wipe
Format System,Cache,Data,Delvik Cache,Preload,Internal SD card.
Warning this leaves you without a system in recovery so (1) Make sure you backup anything you need (2) Make sure you have a rom on ext SD card waiting to be flashed. You can do this manually or there are scripts that you can flash in recovery to do it for you look here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/tool-mega-wipesuper-wipefactory-t1832326 <<
Not guaranteed to work but when I ever got severe lag problems this used to work from me I used to do it about once a month.
