The problem is while gaming with a mamereloaded after 5 minutes the CPU automatically throttles down to 800 MHz and the game lag a lot, Even if the phone is not that heated up.The problem is only with a Samsung rom. I tried Googy-Max Kernel 1.6.1 with a dual rom, CM10.1 no problem. Samsung rom have a problem. Same Samsung rom (omega 43.7) but with old Siyah Kernel 1.84 and no problem cpu stay at 1400mhz.
Sorry for my very bad english.
that's odd, does same thing happens to Sammy stock kernel ?
it is only due to Googy Max kernel , then you should probably post your problme in the kernel thread and the DEVer should help you

Unfortunately is my first post and I can not post in Googy max kernel dev. I follow the post Googy kernel for a long time and every day I see the news, I see that you post a lot on the Googy kernel dev, can you do me a favor to post in the Googy dev this problem. I really like the Googy kernel for me is the best but this problem bothers me a lot.I did all the tests (using Perfmon 1.10 for cpu monitor in real time) it does so with all the stock kernel also. only one who has no problem is the Siyah Kernel 1.84.And up to version 1.5.0 Googy max kernel down to 1000 mhz but now goes down to 800 MHz. Googy_anas I wanted to ask if he could put an option in stweaks that controls the throttle cpu type (throttlemode: Smasung default or cm10 mode)
i have post your request and hope your problem could be solved ASAP.
by the way , just a little thinking.
did you set Touch Boost ? because default TB value is 800 Mhz which is coincidently coincided your 800 Mhz, well , that's highly unlikely.
and do you have any CPU apps that overrided the Stweak CPU setting that without yourself knowing it ? because i have been under similar situation once but with firewall locked up my apps not the CPU frequency of your case.
did you try use clear sammy rom ? better the stock ROM without any Addon
just flash clean ROM , the kernel or try stock kernel first.
install only 2 things ! the monitor and any heavy application like Game or something

What a strange problem.
I know for sure that most custom sammy roms have some tweaks included which might interfere with some of the features of Googy-Max Kernel. That's why I personally use and recommend stock rom for ~0 problems experience.
So, instead of changing kernels to test, please try with a stock sammy rom along with your preferred kernel.

Hello master googy thanks for your kernel. Try with your rom and monitor the cpu with apk PERFMON play some games and you see the cpu go down at 800mhz after a few minutes. Is not the rom is something in the kernel. with syah 1.84 and same rom no problem. with your kernel 1.0 since 1.50 and same rom the cpu going down to 1000mhz.I thing is something in the kernel routine (Samsung side) that have cpu throttle too sensitive. you can do something that controls the clock with temperature and set it in stweaks?
This problem has been treated Thu time ago on post of Syah kernel:

I just tried with some 3d games with mg4 stock rom and didn't have that problem...
Can you provide a log so that I can investigate more?

Test with a heavy cpu application ( antutu test only cpu more time 3 or 4 time) with overclock the problem appears more quickly) i have set my gpu 266, 350, 444, 533, 600. I can send you the logs by email?
Or by pm

Hello, i send android log and my max googy kernel settingI believe that is not a problem but a limitation of the kernel Samsung i9300 update sources.this was also the problem with icecream sendwitch a year ago but already with the first versions of siyah kernel worked better then up to 1.84 from 1.86 at the limit temperature drops to 1000 MHz. with your kernel was 1000 MHz up to 1.50 over this version and then dropped to 800 MHz.

Hi
I jumped from siyah 1.91 to googy 1.6.2 (because of 10.2 thanx Googy) and I'm experiencing exactly the same problem.
Cpu 1600 -7500 for all freqs less then 1100
GPU 700 -50
The rest of settings are stock.
ROM is Samsung stock 4.1.2
My frequency killer is Real racing 3.

The only one who has no problems with the rom samsung is version 1.84 of the siyah kernel, the version 1.91 down to 1000 MHz and all the other new kernels down to 800 MHz. Now for the games and emulators i use the 1.84.Waiting for someone put tweak of cpu throttle in kernel utility. If you use cm10.1 and 1.60 is not affected. I have not tried 1.62 and cm10.2.

Since i install de overclocking kernel.. My sgs2 it's heating up and the battery drain very fast.. I just update to litening 3.6.. And still the problem.. I want to install the stock overclock... How can i do it...
Did you tried Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script to remove all treaks and overclocking?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363738
there isn't overclock or underclock kernel , only you who can overclock or underclock your cpu , just install any kernel with clean install , and don't use any app and it will run with it's default settings , and if you want to underclock just use setcpu or voltage control and underclock it or even undervolt it , this will help you in heating issue some how ,
but read the 1st page in any kernel thread before flashing any kernel , just to be sure about what you are flashing and what you will get and what you won't
OC/UV kernel doesn't impact on temperature. Well, maybe slightly. Even on stock kernel you will have warm phone (just turn on navigation or play GTA and you will see). Maybe try to flash Siyah Kernel (which is friendly to battery life)?

yes our s2 cpu is heating with normal-heavy use bec. of our powerfull dual core cpu and gpu in a very slim plastic case , but underclock , undervolt help in heating some extent , but sure it will heat but less than normal , i am using my phone at 100-800 mhz and uv my cpu by -125 ma and my phone temp is 39-40 max , before my cpu was about 45 while playing angry birds or browsing
You could try formatting both internal and external SD's. Sometimes different ROM's don't like changing of file structures etc.
EDIT: You can also download a CPU control app such as No Frills to check your clock speed. Our standard/stock speed is 1.2Ghz/1200Mhz.
You can also try to go to a stock firmware, you have several threads in this forums with links to download some.
Did you try 1st to use Antutu CPU or CPU master to check the over clocking and make the min to 200 MHz and the max 1200 MHz as this is the stock one
if you are having Siyah kernel it will be easy for you to change from the Extweeks.

Still with heating problem.. I tried ultimate cleaner and flash again litening rom 3.6, and install no frills and setcpu but i don't know how to use it.. Here i let you 2 screenshots of no frills..
Hmmm, could you install CPU Spy, run it and continue as normal for 1-2 hours and post some sceenies please
This will show how often and for how long your cpu is sitting at each frequency step.
So, I've upgraded my Siyah Kernel to the latest version and set the CPU UNDERVOLTING to -100mV(default is -No Undervolting), governor to lulzactiveq, max frequency to 1.6(default is 1.4) and voltage control to 1325000 uV (default is 1350000)
Is this safe ? No crashes so far.
Yes there is no problem..,..
Read siyah kernels information its very helpful to you.....
If you face some sort of problems go to siyah setting and hit on default setting.....

I just had a freezae and needed to remove the battery to reboot it again. Advice of going one step lower to 1.5 ? or increase a few voltage @ 1.6?
is 1400000 good for 1.6?

P.S : I think the problem is my rom, because its freezing, except for 1.5(stable). Rom is OMEGA 33.3
Well i rebooted my s3 , 1.6 oc and voltage control to default and uv @ -100mV. Its stable. Stay with this?
Hello! I wonder if there is any way to change your GPU speed on your Galaxy S3?
I just changed kernel to boeffla, to be able to clock my CPU. But if I flash to another kernel, will my CPU clock diminish?
Currently using Resurrection Remix 5.1.1 KK 4.4.2 ROM with Boeffla Kernel v2.3-beta3..
I've noticed alot of people having their signatures saying they have 1.6GHZ CPU and 700MHZ GPU.. My question is how?
Edit: Nevermind, while lying in bed and just before putting away my phone I saw a picture of something called Boeffla-Configurator..Problem solved!
Just for clarification, you should use Boeffla config v2 not just Boeffla config on playstore

To open this thread again; My phone crashed a while ago, and I forgot about The kernel. Now when I try to reflash it (downloading the zip, opening width bfk2 and flashing, my phone is zeroed at boot). What am I doing wrong?
Hi guys,
Really thx to the Z for CM11 I've couple of questions.
1st-)
Do we have an GPU/CPU Overclock kernel like CM10.1, or How can I do it myself if possible? or anyone working on it? also can I use one from CM10.1? (but probably kernel is out dated)
I think it had 1200mhz on 1175mv and 400mhz on GPU if not 500 I think it was 400.
2nd-)
I think we do not have any CM12 besides Mokee (which stopped) and I've heard Z is working on it, is it right?
I really need an OC kernel or a Tutorial to edit and replace kernel, I'll use values from CM10.1 kernel or even old Faust kernels.

looks thank you for opening this topic also have this doubt about overclock A4G because it is already a little slow with freq stock , more would be sensational if there was any work of a cm12.1 or cm13 of daily use for our device
THX Sorry my bad english
Well, me, as well as other people, don't need full speed of our cores and we could gain some hours by underclocking both GPU and CPU, but, I don't know why, underclocking apps doesn't work.
@cile381 used to maintain an underclockable (by aroma installation) kernel, but only for CPU, and I'm wondering if someone could build (or direct us to a guide to how to build) a kernel, for example:
450MHZ max GPU
1440MHz BIG CPU
1248MHZ LITTLE CPU
I would like to build one but I have no idea where to find or modify these values (I could learn how to build a kernel but not how to underclock).
I think you can do that by apps like Kernel Auditor

this is the first time ive seen this all othe kernels are all stock with som optimizations and user could overclock as he pleases... its more convinient to have it that way..whoevers wants more performance overclock. but leave all setting stock..:good:

Try choosing a frec below the max in any kernel controlling app, then see the usage of the different freqs, it still gies up to the max, somehow the kernel ignores and overwrites whatwe choose withthe apps... dont know why or how

I think that issue actually has to do with certain thermal controls in the kernel. Might I ask which kernel/rom you're using? I actually have my kernel underclocked manually and don't have such an issue right now, and I've tried both llamasweet kernel with the Resurrection Remix and CM13 roms and Imperium kernel with Genesis and vanilla stock roms.

stock 5.1 kernel :/
CM based roms have other sources, something is hardcoded in stock kernels... the kernel rewrites every modification you do on /sys so you cant change max freq ever
guys what are the stock settings of CPU and GPU.?
