I recently physically replaced my charging port on my samsung galaxy note SGHI717. Now after the charging works, my touchscreen is unresponsive. I rechecked the the guts to see if everything is fastened and attached and everything seems ok. I also tried to reboot the system with the help of a online technical support agent. Still no response with the touchscreen. Please help. If possible, Can you email me a detailed diagram of the hardware responsible for the touchscreen. Thanks

WOW, that's a good one. definitely beyond me.
however,
there is a member by the name of SHAYNEFLASHINDAILY who has apparently done this a few times. not sure if you can, but you can try and PM him. I am sure he would respond. if you cant PM due to your post count and limited access until that point, let me know and I will PM him for you and direct him to your thread.
good luck with this one buddy
I would take it all out again and check all connections and make sure you have connected them back correctly because some of them can be tricky.haven't heard of that happening till now ... It has to be a connection.....
2$HAYNE
Thank you sir.
Thank you shane..I did that already but I will take it apart again and reconnect everything....
Compare your original board with the replacement. The international note and ours have #almost# identical parts but are not interchangable. The lcd/digitizer has three clips to check as well.
Its either bad part, incorrect part, or bad connection.
That is also correct.I'm thinking you may have bought the international part like ranger said
2$HAYNE
Thank you you very much for your help. Is there a website that I can see the layout of the lcd digitilizer chip for the touchscreen? I appreciate all the help. Im hoping to get it working soon.....#fingerscrossed
Just Google both att and international versions ..there also is a video on changing the port on YouTube ...good luck
2$HAYNE
Thank you very much. I followed the video to change the port already. Which I did and the touchscreen was unresponsive.
Then hopefully its the wrong port .. Hope you get it figured out bro

Ever since I flashed 21820 my keypad has been nuts. I am trying to figure out if I have a hardware or software problem.
I flashed 2 or 3 different 21820 ROMS all with the same results. My problem is as follows:
The buttons intermittently do not work or have the wrong function. For example, the send key does not work at all, then it works. I press the home key and it launches a call. Then all buttons are dead. Then it works fine for several hours or even an entire day.
I have tried flashing back to previous ROMS and I even flashed back to a factory ROM all with the same intermittent results. I can put the phone on my desk and not touch anything but the keys. Sometimes it works sometime not. Because nothing is moving, it seems hard to imagine a wiring short.
Any advice is welcome. Being a cheapo, I skipped the ATT phone insurance so I may have to pay for a repair if necessary.
Thanks for any help.

Sort of. They are having trouble with the keyboard. My problem is only with the front buttons: Home, Back, Send, End.
I read some of these posts before, but my keyboard seems to be working fine, so I did not pay much attention to them.
Hopefully I can fix this somehow. I hate to think about a repair bill or a replacement.
Doug M.
I just read your original post again and now realize what you were referring to the pad not keyboard ... my bad.
Assumed you've done a quick search through your kitchen on the off-chance that another keypad DLL didn't manage to sneak in somehow.
Captain_Throwback put out a post a while back for warranty replacement - not sure if it's AT&T specific or general HTC, but he had fairly good success. If you haven't the device for a long time, it may be possible to get it serviced via warranty.
Sorry, I know it's not much help but from the sounds of it, it may be hardware related since you've done all the typical troubleshooting steps.
Cheers,

You think too much of me. I am no chef, I simply enjoy the work of other talents on this forum. I have tried several different ROMS;Energy, Timolol, DaG new, old etc... all with the same results.
I also just tried a shot of compressed air and a healthy dose of WD-40 on the keypad as I pried the edge up slightly. So far it seems to be working. Hopefully it will hold. These intermittent issues are a pain to troubleshoot.
Thanks for your help.

Careful with the WD-40. don't get the moisture sensitive patch near the battery wet. If you had the phone for less than a year old, it's under the manufacturer's warranty that AT&T will honor. As long as you can show the phone wasn't abused (make sure to flash original ROM and SPL) and the phone still has those issues, then they will replace it with no cost to you. I had a problem with the main keyboard, flashed the shipped ROM and SPL and they didn't give me any heartache/headaches... Especially since you've proven that it's hardware with the prying and WD-40

Thanks for the tip. I had not thought about that patch, but it seems dry for now. So far the WD-40 is still working. Maybe I have solved this issue.
Generally I love it when things break. It is a great chance to upgrade without the need for too much explaination at home. For now however, there is no device that I would reather have. When the TP2 makes to to the states however, my phone may have an "accident"...

I started a thread about the digitizer problem in Janauary about things suddenly scrolls rapidly, especially when browsing webpages.
Then on the Jan 15th, I took it to warranty, but without being able to demonstrate the problem clearly, all they done was reflashing the firmware.
I've already tried to fix the bug in the driver, but it is damn hard to filter the "noisy" touches without side effects. (like ignoring movements that are too quick, then i can't type in swype quickly)
I should have known *#0*# earlier, as I'm now able to reproduce the problem right in front of them.
On March 15, I took it to them again. Today, got my phone back with replaced touch screen. Then, tested it in front of their CS and reproduced the bug as shown in the attachment again.
I suggest anyone who owns an ace, please go into *#0*# to test your phone. Keep circling around the lower-left box for at least 10 minutes. Reply to this thread if you're able or not able to reproduce this. I may print this thread to Samsung on my next visit to them.
I've also uploaded a video to youtube to show this. (it's around 1:51 for the bug to appear)
We need to get Samsung to fix this!!
Yup I've got the same problem.
Notice it a lot with Draw Something.
*#0*# doesn't work for me, probably because I am rooted and have a custom rom. (ICSunday by Jusada).
That probably means I lost my warranty
Yes, I have this problem to. The first time occurred with less than 30 seconds of testing and the second around 1:20 min.

Yes, it's Samsung's own test menu in stock roms. But it should be reproducible in whatever drawing app.
Thought i ONLY had this PROBLEM!!
Its not only in STOCK browser also in DOLPHIN, OPERA.. And others. The page suddenly moves to the end with a slight touch!! Wat does the SAMSUNG ppl say about this??
Hope we GET a EXCHANGE of THE SET!!
it always happen when I scroll the long page slowly :/
I hope Samsung will fix it soon
They said they will be replacing my phone's motherboard, as they have already replaced my touch screen.
I wonder if it's fixed in S5830"I", otherwise even exchanging with a brand new ace won't solve it. I would try to ask them to exchange with an ace plus, or maybe I had to escalate a brand new ace first, and take it to "repair"
Well, since its a hardware problem, I don't think they can fix it with an update. I've experienced it my self countless times as well.
I noticed this when playing Air Control...
Also the rapid scrolling in Dolphin Browser is familiar to me!
I have that probably too
Yaiyeee!! New phone

Well I faced that problem too while using DiskUsage App. Just a slight touch and it moved to right end corner.
i have the same problem.
I've had this happen to me as well, can be quite annoying.
I'm not sure there's anything we can do about it unfortunately, but it doesn't affect the phone all the time. If it did, I'd be asking for a refund
Although, those Galaxy Ace Plus' do look nice...
is ther a pertition we can sign? or something? obviousley its a fault, so now what for us ace owners??

Hi Guys,
I bought a verizon s4 2 months ago and everything was running smooth
Suddenly for the past three days, my screen has progressively deteriorated until just a few random coloured pixels remained
I thought of reporting it to verizon when i found a small crack adjacent to the volume + button
I have uploaded a couple of photos but im not able to share them as im a new user:
h-t-t-p://imgur.com/Yp0TIPN,MxdoNk0
h-t-t-p://imgur.com/Yp0TIPN,MxdoNk0#1
When I accepted my fate and started blaming myself, my friend then looked it up online and found that many people were having the same problem
It seems that the reason is hardware malfunction. I even tried master reset suggested by some people online but it didnt work.
Im pretty sure that if i'd send this in to samsung they would've said this was a hardware damage and charged me money for their mistake(from what i've read this did happen to many people)
I just want to report this issue and being a huge samsung fan im greatly disappointed.
If anybody else did have this problem please post under this thread. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Duly noted. I wonder if I can get squaretrade to send me a check instead when my phone decides to take a 600 ft drop.

Galaxy S4 problem
Hey Dude,
Sarcasm Received, but the phone was perfecly running at 3 p.m. but when I went to a meeting, came back and opened the phone again, it blacked out. There was no chance for the phone to have dropped 3 ft. let alone 600 ft. The pixelated colours started showing later. I apologise for not attaching the video of the other guy having the same problem, it is in my second post. Please take a look and let me know your opinion.

Hey Guys,
My girlfriend is having alot of problems with her phone lately.
It was turned off occusionaly during the day.
I've replaced the rom on her device and though it would fix it.
I bought the akku polarcell 1800mah for her because I had good experience
on the past with polarcell battery for my previous galaxy s1.
Guys I don't really know what to do and my girlfriend is counting on me to fix this ..
I told her to put some papar near the battery to have it better grip with the electricity circuit.
Maybe there is a Corrosion- how to fix this?
Guys,
Please let me know your input on this and how to solve this.
Looking forward for any input- thanks in advance.
All the best!
thanks you guys
Be nice and get her a new phone. Keep the S2 for your ownself. Problem solved!
You can't really fix corrosion, because it tends to spread slowly throughout the device over time. It depends on what's damaged, if you're lucky it might only be the USB board which is cheap to replace, if it's components on the motherboard then replacing that is more expensive, if it's through the whole phone it might even be a bin job because it's probably going to continue to get worse over time.
Only way to know for sure is to take it to someone qualified (I.E a mobile repair shop) & have them take a look.
Edit - Or...You could replace the USB board yourself & see how that goes. It's easy/quick/cheap (~US$10) to do yourself, search for KeithRoss39's guide in General (search for 'replacing USB charger board' or similar), and if you're lucky this solves the problem. If it doesn't, then you take it someone qualified for diagnosis (and in changing the USB board, as you're pulling the phone apart, you'll be able to see if/how much corrosion is there).
Thanks for the quick replies.
The issue is we don't want to invest money in this and would rather staying with the phone as it is if needed.
How can I make it better?
Any Idea?
Did you even read my post ?
You can't. It's obviously something hardware-wise going on. You can either take that advice & possibly fix the phone, or put up with it in its current state. There isn't anything 'easy' you can do.

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge G925F with custom rom, i have a problem with my sensor.
I turn my auto-brightness in ON and nothing chang, it's always stay at the same level of brightness, i tested it, if it was a hardware problem with calling "*#0*#" but not, it work perfectly in that.
and for the proximity sensor, when i call someone, the screen turn automaticaly in black, same think, i tried to test hardware, it's work, when i call someone with What's App for exemple, it's work, but it's not work with phone dialer.
(Sorry for my bad english, i'm french)
Can someone help me ? I tried an other rom, same problem, other bootloader / modem, same again.
Same issue here! Don't know what the problem is. Sensor is working when being tested, but somehow system is not receiving that info. Factory reset did not help either. I am on stock everything (5.1.1).
and you have no problem with brightness in mode auto ?
Auto brightness is not working either. It is always at same output value, no matter what I do. And also navigation buttons are not lighting up anymore.
Phone is all stock. Not sure if I should try with other roms...

Oh, we have the exact same problem, I just noticed that, my softkey lighting doesn't work too.
Have you got a problem like that, you put your headset's jack into your phone, and It's not detected by your phone ? İ have that issue too, I bought a jack, dock replacement for replace this part, I will tell you what happening next.
I saw your thread, did you disassembly your s6 ? By you or other guys.
If you find any solution to this problem please report it here and I will do the same. Hope we will be able to fix it .

I just checked this, and unfortunately it's not working...not recognized by the phone . Guess it's identical problem.
I did not touch any internals...just sent this phone for repairs, but they did not fix it because they found out that someone was already open it before. Now I do not know what to do.

Yes, as I wrote in my original thread phone had a problem with faulty battery. It was refurbished phone and seller stated that it has 2 years of manufacturer warranty, but as it turned out warranty was void because someone damaged that battery before and tried to fix it with some tape.
btw. everything else was working fine before we sent the phone for service. When they returned it all these problems started. I have ordered new battery and will replace that by my own I guess because Samsung is not responding to our messages. I guess my girlfriend will have to live with these issues if we are not able to fix them...
if you think your auto brightness is not working check out this app. If that doesn't work then your sensors are faulty/defective and contact Samsung support or your authorized reseller

As we mentioned already...every sensor checking app is reporting that senors are working just fine. I removed the battery so can't try this app right now, but will definitely check as soon as I can, thanks.
Update regarding my situation: Since everything failed to fix this device or receive our money back, I decided to open the phone and check if anything else is wrong with it (besides battery) and guess what...audio jack port was completely broken. Plugging in headphones was working before it went to official repair centre, and now I know they broke it. But still I can't do anything about it because Samsung is refusing to fix it. My best bet is to replace that part together with battery and live with other issues.
Worst service I have ever experienced...
Ok so, I will receive this replacement part (jack) this week, I hope it will fix the other problems too.
I'll tell you what happen after that.

Same here! Just replaced and packed everything up few minutes ago. Working great!! Finally! I'm glad we managed to fix this one ...
Just dry up the edges. Try to blow the corners. It is just a little bit wet because the corners have little gaps that let water and dust in. I blow dried my phone and it fixed the problem. If you try to wipe screen with water and it gets inside the edges, problem comes back again
Ich have the same problem. But how can it be a hardware issue when the sensors are working in test module? I don't want to send it in :/
Mine was having this exact problem and was solved by an update I didn't know existed. Go to where you find your updates and download any available. Mine worked great again afterwards. If that doesn't work, Try clearing your cache partition.
