WHAT IS THIS?I want provide special patches to make possible run any Verizon android JB 4.1.2 ROM for DROID RAZR XT912 on RAZR XT910 without messing up with your cid and change your kernel. Also 98.72.8 stock based ROMS on DROID RAZR XT912 runing 98.72.16 kernel.
What does it means?
In example you can flash any stock based ROM verizon 98.72.16 or leaked 98.72.8 on your RAZR XT910 then install Patch From 98.72.8-16 CDMA to 982.124.14-17 GSM via custom recovery and boot device running original 982.124.14/17 kernel.
CDMA users which miss old 98.72.8 stock based ROMS can flash Patch From 98.72.8 CDMA to 98.72.16 CDMA without changing kernel and boot your DROID RAZR XT912 with 98.72.16 kernel.
Read this:
Some stock based ROMS have build.prop tweaks and init.d tweaks. After patch GSM XT910 users lost this tweaks but not others amazing ROMs features.CDMA DROID RAZR XT912 users can keep tbuild.prop tweaks if have in ROM.
if you want have build.prop modded features just add them manually. For init.d tweaks if have in modded ROM you can open folder system/etc/init.d and look if any of scripts do not init CPU control modules. From kernel to kernel this modules must be recomplied. That is why my installation script remove init.d folder if have in ROM. You also can add init.d folder with all included scripts later after boot your ROM, only remember about cpu control modules which make your phone not bootable if not run original ROM kernel.
Other than this all functions must work 100%

data should work, may be just some personal rom issue. In fact you don't need gsm patch separately, it's include in my patch otherwise rom have problem. If you are about CDMA DROID RAZR then try put original build.prop from your rom jellywiz rls7. Oh, you are GSM LATAM).

Oh nice, artur! You just figured out how to run .18/.16 based VZW Roms on XT910 with latest EU kernel! Good job!!
I just had a lokk into the patch and figured that you just copied all related kernel modules from VZW rom? Does wifi work on that? If wifi doesn't work you should remove ONLY the wlan modules.
Edit: Artur, are you familiar with C?

Thx to your work I can apply this rom for Kexec - but I will do this when I fifnished my StockCore kernel (JBX-Kernel port for Stock Roms).
Better saying: Instaed of patching all roms I will release a flashable kernel for stock roms to use JBX-Kernel on sotck roms.
I asked you for C because you might want to join development? As you might have noticed I am searching for some help on kernels

I will look on it. I have checked with stock 98.72.8 and 98.72.16 roms and everything worked just fine. Give me have a try with Jellywiz rls7.
Update: I have checked with Jellywiz rls7 and APN can add manually or with different apns-conf.xml. Put my one from attachment archive in /system/etc/ folder then go to apn settings and reset to defaults and reboot device. Now i can confirm that data also working. Make sure do not install any GSM patch above my patch.

The file from the link reads:

Is that a bad link or just a strange name for the patch?

I have a VZW Razr Maxx. Wondering if there is a stock ICS ROM that has been rooted, stripped of all VZW/Motorola crap and deodexed?
Thanks!

This one isn't vanilla stock but I like it so far:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745928
I think it may also be the only one rooted, stripped, deodexed custom ICS ROM right now that does not mess around with the kernel. I like the stock kernels + customized/stripped apps because I do not need custom kernel features like OC but absolutely hate most wireless-provider/manufacturer apps/customizations. Moto Blur is plain awful and combined with all the crappola that Verizon dishes out, I am glad to have the Spyder ROM.

Thanks for the pointer. I looked and found only one non-CM9/AOKP ROm over there:
http://www.droidhive.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1176-rom-droidrazr-ics404-simplexrom-v101-712012/
So the counter for stock kernel + Rooted, stripped, deodexed ROMs stands at two:
Black Widow Ics-6.16.214.spyder.deodex (includes leaked .214 update)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745928
Simplexrom-v1.0.1 (based on OTA .211 update)
http://www.droidhive.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1176-rom-droidrazr-ics404-simplexrom-v101-712012/
Both need SafeStrap 2.00 prior to installation.

tried to install kexec on this apk recovery on XT910 (they released safestrap for XT910 on their domain).
The recovery does works but no success on the ROM,it just vibrates and black screen.
EDIT:Restoring Nandroid backup seems to not work after flashing kexec,it goes to the same vibrate and than black screen (than i just RSD back to Europe ICS i forgot to try wipe data and cache).
I think it means that GSM safestrap build does not initialize kexec
Talk about Kexec in It's official thread in the development section
For sefatrap work in GSM Razr XT910, you need:
* Remove All Bootmenu Files
* Install APK and Recovery
* Reboot and enter in recovery menu (menu button)
* Toogle Safe System
* Full Wipe
* Install de cm-9-20120820....
* Reboot.
With me worked fine, only waiting the Kenex

This isn't a rom, it is hashcode's newest version of safestrap (2.1.1). This version of the bootstrap allows kexec on the RAZR, kexec enables us to boot custom kernels, so full asop based roms can be developed and run on our phone. I believe dhacker and hashcode are working on a kexec enabled rom as we speak. Hello cm10!

Before kexec there was little to none, we were/are running custom ram disk on top of the stock kernel, that's why you had to flash roms relative to what update/leak you were running. And I'd assume the dev edition razr will have the same kernel but an unlocked /unlockable bootloader.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
i haven't tried it yet waiting for bootmenu. others says its faster but no camera , and as u load 2 kernels same time we got less ram.

I have flashed deodexed version and I must say I'm impressed. Fast, stable and battery friendly. Everything works, no bugs at all
Also I've noticed that there is no root in the rom.
This problem was solved by installing root directly from BMM recovery, section system keeper/install root/reboot
Finally I have also system 2 with a reliable rom
Thanks a lot!

Definitely this one! Seems a bit lighter, faster and a lot better 3G connection.
Regarding CID I think it should still be erased coz your not in EU. It shouldn't bother you as before
I didn't noticed panorama mode
Bottom line: it needs to be tested a few more days for stability, but so far I strongly recommend it
And, yes, don't forget to flash the right kernel

Seems tempting to try but one request, could you upload a screenshot or 2 for me? The thing i like about the verizon one is the clean statusbar (no carrier) and the razr i like text messaging theme (the green icon one). I know it might be minor but still he3..
And about the new panorama mode, it is the bomb man, really great at producing panorama shot, you could scan the area anywhere you like, almost no restriction, i could call it photo sphere alpha version so if this vodafone version has it all, i might flash it tonight

Yup i use BMM and i put it on Slot2 because i still keep my ICS in Slot-1 (stock) and yes no more CID erasing.. confirm, just flashing kernel between ICS and JB vodafone Rom depend on which one i use.
maybe after few days testing this rom i will move it to Slot1 as main rom replacing ICS.
before this rom i use Verizon JB but i dont like the signal bar counting seems not accurate, and finally after using the Vodafone JB all signal bar is accurate as i was using my ICS rom.
im a happy person now :victory:

Hello, I am using retail asia razr
I am not clear about your description.
Do you mean you flash the Vodafone JB Kernel in system 2 first, then flash the zip file in system 2????
And do I need to do anything to flash rom in system 2???
Does webtop work fine with this?

I noticed alot of people having trouble with flashing ROMS based off the Xmas leak 98.72.8 while being updated to the 98.72.16 OTA, so i made some SafeStrap flashable zips that allow you to keep the .16 OTA in stock slot while having a .8 based ROM in another slot.
No need to fastboot the entire leak to flash leak based roms.
Just flash the appropriate zip for whichever slot you are booting.
Use these if you get bootloops with certain ROMs that require you to be on the christmas leak. You can switch back and forth from stock OTA to custom pretty easy.
I only have an xt912 CDMA so thats all i tested on. Any input is welcomed. I will reply when possible.

I actually wrote it all on my RAzR without a computer.
Once it's there it's there. Most ROMS don't rewrite that file. But to Boot your stock slot without a cryptographic error you have to flash the *.16.zip

OK I want to clarify some questions?

So (slot 1 clean) install rom + gapps + Patch GSM then install script changes from 16 to 8 and reboot.
if I want after 1-2 days to use another rom installed on slot 2 must do something or just exchange slots ss 3.11?
thanks
with this I would be able to switch from stock .16 to any ROM .8 slot with ease?

I successfully booted a .8 rom using the zip, but i cannot boot .16 roms without a crypto whatever error, despite the fact that i have flashed the .16 zip multiple times. Any thoughts?

I will reply when possible.

hi,
i live in Portugal and recently got a RAZR XT912 verizon,
it's with 4.1.2 stock now and it's working fine (didnt test data connection yet)
but can i install CM11 spyder version and will the 3G/4G work here in Portugal ?
You'll need GSM fix for that.
Find it in the general section and flash after the ROM.

I put a portuguese sim card (GSM) on it, and on stock 4.1.2 it works fine... do i need to patch only if i change to CM rom ?
Yes. If you use custom ROMs based on CM.
Any 4.1.2 based ROM will work without the patch.
