Struggling to fix ukn IMEI & Baseband on 4.2 Slim - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I just flashed slim and the kb5 modem and now the imei is dead and my sim can't be recognized.
I actually didn't know Samsung were infamous for imei issues so I didn't research this beforehand. Anyway I have an efs folder, but when I copied that folder to / and fixed permissions nothing changed.

Remind me to never try Sammy again, now I can't get into recovery and phone is not booting. Only DL mode is accessible.

If you can get to Download mode, your device should be fine.
Restore back to stock (your IMEI should be back), and then continue from there.
The Heimdall one-click did not work for me. It complained about partitions.
The "All in One" toolbox (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509) contains a PIT and TAR file. This is the partition layout (I think) and stock OS that can be restored via Odin.

Thanks, but I managed to restore it with Odin later that day. Now I have IMEI in CM10.1, sadly I cannot get the MIC to work(so people can't hear me in calls). I googled this issue and have tried turning on/off mute to no avail.
Also I only have this issue when flashing Slim+cyan core(not sure which is the issue, i'm too scared to try either).

Do a clean wipe and reinstall your ROM and it should fix the mic issue if it doesn't then try another ROM. If that doesn't fix it reflash stock in Odin and see if it works on stock if it doesn't that its a he isue

Did you use the EXE through rootzwiki with Odin or did you flash through CWM?
You can always try this post.

From within ClockWorkMod Recovery, restore your Nandroid backup from before you installed the ICS ROM?
You did make a Nandroid backup, right?
If that's not an option, how about reflashing with a stock Odin? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24507376

What about reflashing from stock via Odin? I added a link to my post above.
What about the EXE prevents the use of CWM Recovery restore? Can't you just install CWM Recovery on it, then restore a previous Nandroid backup?
Yeah i used exe. And i have tried flashing via odin and nothing is working. I could just be doing it wrong. So if you have a idea please give specific directions. I am really missing that overclock kernel right about now. Haha.

Stock Odin Gingerbread is at least 450MB. Not sure what you are flashing.
The image to go back to stock is over 800mb in size found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330
Pick the right image for your carrier, download it... run odin with your phone plugged in, put the .tar file in the [pda] section of Odin and flash. That should return you back to bone stock. After that then do whatever you did prior to installing ICS.
edit: Personally I never restore apps and whatnot from titanium backup after making such a big change, you never can tell what effect restored apps will have on a fresh install.

[SOLVED]Sim Card Problem-Include Solution indside

Today i did something wrong to my dad's Galaxy S III.
As a result Baseband is went wrong.
Sim Card not detecting.
IMEI No:Null(*#06#)
What's the problem?
Is it can be solved by flashing Stock Rom?
Your EFS folder data is corrupted.
Did you flash a custom ROM or kernel? If so, maybe (with a little luck) you can restore the EFS image backup.
Check your internal sdcard.

Error 7 Stuck in CWMR :(

Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
I have been googling and reading for the past 2 hours trying to figure out how to fix this.
I have recovery v5.5.0.4.
I tried to flash the stock rom and it gives me error 7.
I then tried flashing a CM rom with the same error.
It apparently will not mount my external even when I select "mount external" so I have no access to my nandroid.
No ADB and no rom make for a very expensive paperweight
all help is VERY appreciated
Try mounting the internal? Also worst case scenario you can just Odin back to a stock rom too you know.
Good luck!

I9100 recovery problem

Hello guys!
My problem is that I wanted to root my freind's I9100, but something went totally wrong...
Now my problem is that the bootloader doesn't seem to work... I hold the power button, the screen lights up, nothing happens for 1-2 minutes, it crashes and it all begins again.
The only thing that is working (I think) is the Download mode...
I tried to flash VillainROM v1.1 (I read that it would solve the problem somewhere), but it didn't work...
Also with that ROM I can get to the recovery, but unfortunately it can't find the storage (Of course I have a backup on there...)
I'm really worried right now, because it's not mine...
Please help me! :crying:

I don't think that this makes a difference, root basically is just some modified system files, isn't it?
and with a new rom the old system partition gets wiped completely
I dont think its super bricked if u can power on the device. try to get into download mode and flash a stock rom. If you have warranty you better take your phone to samsung repair centre

No it cant be. If you can power on your device its not super bricked..If it was super bricked your phone would be just a piece of plastic that gets heat up near the camera area. you should have just flashed a safe kernel like siyah using odin. Its perfectly safe. you must have ticked the repartition on Odin
Your data partition is corrupted. And only flashing a .pit file would save your phone. If it doesnt, i think samsung is the only way...

Did you try flashing something different?
I'm not familiar with that file, but from the name it looks like a stand-alone CWM recovery rather than a kernel. If that's the case, it wouldn't flash, and might damage your phone. Where did you get that? Is it a kernel for the I777 that is just named strangely? Or is it really a stand-alone CWM?

You need to flash a kernel from XDA only. The I777 has recovery built in the kernel.
