Has anyone tried the CM 10.2 nightlies yet? I'm running 10.1 with AJK 4.3 and I'm leary about trying 10.2 until AJK is compatible, mostly because I like the audio boost from using STweaks. Just wanted to see what other's experience has been. Thanks!

Yeah I just installed in a min ago. Seemed to work fine but then I went back into recovery and tried installing STI kernel and now I'm stuck at boot.
...lame. I cant post in the development forum so I guess I'll just be waiting.... CM 10.2 worked fine, its just the custom kernel. I tried every way I know. I used jivys kernel cleaning script and wiped everything. still no luck.

Is STI kernel a 4.3 or 4.2.2 kernel?

That's what I wanted to find out. I know it works with 4.2.2 but I'm assuming not with 4.3? But I was trying to install STI 2.34... I think the latest is 2.39 so maybe the newer version might work? or am I still wrong??
I flashed the 10.2 nightly from the most recent 10.1 nightly. Works great. Wiped cache + dalvik. Also flashed the 4.3 gapps.
You may want to wait a few days for any initial bugs to be squashed.
Infected's i9100 CM10.2
I too tried the CM10.2 official nightly by wiping cache+dalvik from Infected's i9100 CM10.1 Linaro builds. I then installed AJK not knowing it didn't support 4.3 yet and so was stuck at boot logo.
I don't care so much about the custom kernel. How else can I run a ROM from the i9100 thread but use the i777 CM10.2 kernel? If anybody can just step me through the libs and keylayout changing process that'd be awesome!

PM me a link to the ROM you are talking about and I may see if it works with my alpha AJK with CM10.2 support.

Hi,
I am using CM 9 (14th April nightly build). I flashed Siyah's kernel 3.1rc4. Everything seems to work fine with it. But then I flashed the Speedmod kernel (K3-9).
Now when my phone boots, I don't see any boot animation and as soon as the lockscreen appears I get lots of "has stopped working popups" for various services (phone, acore etc etc) and the phone is basically un-usable.
I tried flashing CM 9 again, so that I get Codeworx's kernel. I flashed Speedmod over it but still the same problem
Anyone here facing/faced a similar issue ?
Thanks!
why are you migrating yourself from no problems to problems,
forget the Kernel which is giving treble thats it...or you really want to know the reason ask in the speedmode kernel thread....

Oh that is sad ! Speedmod was the best kernel that I had on GB. That is why I wanted to try out the ICS version.

Because I haven't found a sweet spot yet. That is why I am experimenting with different kernels.

Will post in the speedmod thread. Just wanted to know if this was a generic problem with all kernels or just speedmod specific.
It says very clearly in the Speedmod thread that it works only on Samsung based firmwares. CM9, AOKP, etc... are not Samsung based firmwares, so not too surprisingly it doesn't work.

Hi,
I can run CM10 just fine on my P3113 Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.
But I tried several AOKP builds for this tablet and none will boot.
I did a factory/data wipe every time.
Anyone can help me make it work?
Thanks,
Mike

I finally found a way to make it work. Here is how I did it:
After flashing AOKP, I immediately flashed a kernal over it.
It did the trick.
I know ppl say that AOKP includes a kernal BUT this was what I had to do... Flashing AOKP alone never worked.
Oh and is here the kernal I flashed over AOKP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1823696
I used the Regular OC kernal.
My AOKP ROM now runs smootly at stock speed with this kernal... I can't enable the OC sadly...
Hey guys im currently using
CM 10.1 for my S2, running 4.2.1
Before everything is the 4.2.1 Jelly bean REAL OS? or its just being "emulated by CM 10.1"
Thanks.
Now is there a Kernel out there for S2 running 4.2.1, capable of OverClocking?
Thanks
Not sure what you mean is cyanogenmod 10.1 emulating android ???. Of course not, it is the real deal 4.2 on the S2 and I think siyah or dorimanx are capable of oc on 10.1

After Restoring Factory,
Wipe Dalvik cache
Then Installed CM 10.1 / 4.2.1 on my S2,
Then flashed Siyah 5.0.1 it crashed my phone...
should i go with this one?

To flash a ROM boot into recovery
1. Wipe data
2. Flash rom
3.Wipe devlik cache and cache
Thanks spiralzz I was wondering why I couldn't find anything about other kernels.
CM10.1 isn't compatible with custom kernels.
However, you may use MCM811's kanged CM10.1 builds along with Siyah. I'll link you to the thread.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31661830
The thread has a link in the OP which will link you to the ROM and Siyah... Don't use Siyah from www.gokhanmoral.com with this ROM.

Im downloading this at the moment...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854
its based from 4.2.1 CMO 10.1 and has Dorimanx Kernel...
Hopefully supports overclock
You'll need an app like setcpu (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking) to over clock your ROM it may be £1.50 but its worth cos you can have profiles so if your phone reaches a certain temp you can turn off the overclock till its cooled down
i have just updated to the lastest cm10.1 nightly update today and when i re-flash siyah 1.8.6 all sorts of problems breaks loose.
the cyanogen bootup logo was extremely slow and when the phone eventually booted up it was unusably lagging.
i has to restore from a backup and when i tried to reinstall siyah again, the same thing happens. I think i am correct to assume that it is the kernel that is causing the problems.
i am now using the stock cm kernal but i am missing the fact i can overclock my beast
anyone else having this issue and will it be fixed on further cm updates or will it be a siyah updating issue??
Thanks

Have you installed 1st or 2nd rom ?
Have you tried the new update ? (Siyah 1.8.7)
Problem verifyed with: Yank.555 1.4, Siyah 1.8.6
Do not install these kernels with the latest CM10.1 nightly (13. jan) - use stock or Siyah 1.8.7 instead
This is quite strange because I use the Rom ReVolt 3.3.3 available here.
It uses Android 4.2.1 and I have Siyah Kernel 1.8.6.
So there might be a sort of compatibility ...
I have upgraded to the 1.8.7 and its fixed the problem ;]

So with the 1.8.7 you can use the kernel on cm 10.1 ?

But Gokhanmoral's website says "cm10.1 is now supported in dual-boot configurations" with the latest 1.8.7 build.
So right now I'm running Task650s AOKP with Siyah Kernel, but an old version, thats still Android 4.0.4. In addition, I only have CWM 5. A lot of the KK ROM threads say that CWM 6 is required (and some JB ones imply the same thing, or tha I need JB bootloaders), but the one I want to flash (PACMan) doesn't have such a warning, but I'm still a bit apprehensive. Will I be fine if I just wipe, flash PACMan + GApps and reboot? Or is there an intermediary step I need like flashing a new kernel, and if so which one do I need?
Thanks guys

Well pacman isn't based on kitkat so I think you're good to go, the newest nightlies for that are still based on jellybean right? Or has it changed? I haven't downloaded one in a like two weeks.

Yes, you will be fine, as long as you install a JB kernel first (either STI or AJK 4.9 AOSP). I would suggest you install Milestone 1 (the download link is labeled PAC Release), instead of the nightly. Nightlies have a reputation for being finicky at times, so if you want stability you'd be better off sticking with known stable releases.
And don't forget to flash the gapps either, or you'll run into other problems.
