Since there are many people asking for this mod which is available on CM9/10, I was searching a bit and finally got it working. It works on any ICS/JB rom but I havent tried on GB. Thanks to rovo89 and stole38. Make sure you are following all steps correctly because if not, your phone will be stuck in a bootloop. OK, here we go ! :fingers-crossed:
Requirements:
1) Root
2) init.d Support
3) Brain
Installation:
1. Download this APK file and install it on your phone (Xposed Installer) HERE
2. Download this second app and install it on your phone (Xposed Tweakbox) HERE
3. Open the Xposed Installer and press Install/Update. Wait.
4. After installing the framework, press Soft Reboot. The phone will reboot and might boot longer than usual, dont panic
5. After the phone has rebooted, open the Xposed Installer again and go to the Modules tab.
6. Check Xposed Tweakbox. And exit the Xposed Installer.
7. Open the Xposed Tweakbox app and choose Miscellaneous from the menu.
8. Check Skip tracks with volume keys
9. Exit the application and reboot the phone
10. Enjoy !
NOTE: It works only when the screen is off (locked).
Thanks lot, I'll try it
great app, trying it out now, and softreboot was faster than a regular reboot.
working good on my SXP. thanks a lot for this.

Yes, after the installation of this mod you must NOT install any other tweaks from tweakbox
thanks to share this...it will work with any player?
EDIT: so tested on my P with power amp and...woooo it works
Btw if you use power amp to use this mod you have to go on settings/lock screen and enable lockscreen ICS
Someone can explain me what is "init.d support" please ? This tweaks looks like awesome but i don't want to brick my Xperia U..

So here it is
Init.d plays an important role in the world of Android development and customization It allows users to install scripts and mods to be run at boot—everything from battery tweaks to performance tweaks. It essentially opens the door to a world of mods only possible through the Init.d process, which in turn is usually only available on custom kernels.

I rooted my MD7 GS4, and Recently (re)discovered Xposed Modules. I figured, hey why not. I wanted as much of a stock experience as possible, but stupid little things like the Text Messages on the lockscreen bothered me.
After downloading and installing Xposed and Wanam, and rebooting, my phone seems to not get any service for a few minutes before finally getting cell service. while searching, at times it will even ask me to switch to global mode? and if I press cancel, sometimes "Sorry, com.android.phone has stopped" and it will freeze. sometimes it wont force stop and then my cell data FINALLY comes on.
I have since deleted and uninstalled Wanam, Xposed, removed the framework, and still having the issue. I just cant figure out what it may be.
I had the same issue. When you install wanam, it makes a backup of the features.xml file and removes most of the original text from thr file in /system/csc. Go there, see if there is a backup (will be called features.xml.bak and should be about 15 KB or so) and rename it to features.xml after deleting the current features.xml. Reboot. Voila. Profit.

Thanks,
Unfortunately, it still does not work. I deleted the new and renamed the .bak and now I'm still stuck on no service, and process stopped.
took about 6 minutes for cell service to come on.
I am having same problem since installing framework and related modules. Not having same length of delay but it's long enough to get attention. Sometimes it asks for SIM card to be installed. Still reading and searching for solution. Wiki check back later.
Thanks.

I am finding this with the latest update 1.4.5. I TiBU back to 1.4.3 and don't see the problem. Then I used TiBU to not allow Wanam to auto update and all is well.
I found the same problem with Wanam or xTheme whenever I make changes with it and I just reboot and service comes right back. Or just don't use a soft reboot

I have the same device, with the same issues after installing Xposed and Wanam. None of the suggestions here worked for me. However, for me, normal operation resumed after deleting Wanam and the Xposed framework. I'd love to find a solution to this, so I could use the Xposed & Wanam.

I know I am repeating myself but if you follow these steps you will be fine.
1) Apply whatever you want.
2) Exit out of whatever you are applying to home screen
3) Use the power button reboot option - Do Not use the reboot options in the xPosed modules
4) If you don't have signal bars in a few seconds when the lock screen come up just reboot with power again
Side note: Do not install or activate any more than 1 thing at a time. For example, install xPosed, reboot, install, Wanam, reboot, make selections in Wanam, then reboot. All reboots from the power button.

I followed all your rules as I tried this again today, and still not having any luck. I have narrowed my problem down to the installation of Wanam. I did a reboot between each step of installing the Xposed framework, and had no issues there. Yet, after installing Wanam (and before activating the Wanam module) upon reboot, the phone cannot find cell service for at least a few minutes after booting up. Rebooting again (and again and again) makes no difference.
My recently acquired S4 was rooted and running 4.4.2/NC5 and SafeStrap 3.72 just fine. Then I went and flashed Hyperdrive 18.1

Amen! Thanks, that was good advice. I'm back to having root, safestrap, and wifi. Incidentally, was I supposed to set SeLinux to permissive before installing Safestrap? I vaguely remember watching an S4 video that said that I should do that to be sure safestrap installed correctly.
Next time flash the supersu.zip in safestrap immediately after the rom.

Hey guys, I was having the same issue and your advice in this thread fixed it for me.
I've still got two more problems that I thought would be appropriate to ask in this thread;
Most importantly, the GPS seems to be not enabled. I can't find anywhere to enable it and I can't make it show up in the status-bar from the hyperdrive tweaks app.
Also, (and this is more a nuisance, I can live without it for now) the clock doesn't appear at the top of my screen. How can I make that show up?
On a complete side note, besides supporting the developer is there any reason to buy the pro apps? I'm considering buying the 71$ version if everything works well just to support the staff but it seems like a whole lot of money if it doesn't enable any features I'd use. I don't know, on the one hand I want to support the developer, but on the other hand it seems like a lot of money and doesn't go with the spirit of the android platform or modding community in general.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you.
As far as I know, the donation option does not unlock anything you do not already have. It only removes the waiting period in accessing HyperDrive Tweaks. If you really like it then donate. I have not heard of the GPS issue before so I can not be of help. As far as the clock, did you try playing around with its location in HyperDrive Tweaks?

No worries; I'm still alive.
Are you sure about the pro keys? I bought the bronze edition and it seems that there are still some settings in the hyperdrive tweaks that are disabled.
I figured out the GPS: The toggle button was in the statusbar, then I rebooted once and it wasn't anymore which is why I freaked. I found out how to choose my buttons in the statusbar so I put the GPS back.
As far as the clock; I've looked through all of the hyperdrive tweaks and paged through all my system settings. I never saw an option to enable or disable the clock, nor did I see an option to change the position. I did changed the clock settings that I saw (like you I thought the OS would magically figure it out if its attention was called to the clock) and it didn't help

All tweaks settings are enabled, the keys are only to get rid of the time delay popup.
All clock settings are in the status bar tab of HD tweaks. "Clock alignment" has the options for its position and visibility.
Hello all, I'm on D855,and after few attempts I managed to get Xposed working. I had issues with SDK 21 thing.
Now its working but can't se 'table thing' on there. It just says 'version 74 is active' with no possibility to press Install/Update. There is screen shot. Is this behavior normal for xposed, or I did something wrong?
Thanks.
Sorry, posted it here instead of general. And now don't know how to delete it...

if you installed the xposed installer apk, then that's one step done. but, unless you haven't flashed the xposed SDK zip yet, you'll need to do that - it's the (or at least probably the easiest) way to install xposed. flash it with a custom recovery or whatever else you have, and after a reboot you should see that it tells you the SDK is installed, and from there you can browse and pick modules from the repo.
I'm not sure if that answers your question (was in a bit of a hurry so skimmed read it incorrectly so no, it doesn't answer the question ), but in general (at least for me), those buttons are blanked out, and I do everything by flashing.

just to confirm, here's a screenshot of my device. maybe it's the device itself or something's been configured so that the xposed installer cannot modify the SDK installation. but, like I said, it's normal for me and even if it wasn't the most normal thing you can always perform the operations through recovery anyway

A few days ago, there was an update from zhuhang for the already released Viper4Android 2.5.0.5. It addresses the issues that a lot of people are having with getting V4A working under Nougat. I tested it with my ROM, and the driver installed without error. So then I decided to make a flashable zip that would preinstall the driver and save you a few minutes plus a reboot. Other than possibly needing to grant Storage permissions in Settings, this is a quick flash and go.
The zip that should work on any LG-based ROM, and possibly on AOSP-based as well. Just download, flash in TWRP, and reboot. You may need to grant Storage permissions in Settings.
XDA Thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
V4A Blog Site:
http://vipersaudio.com/blog/?page_id=31
I [obviously] didn't create V4A, but if you include my zip in your ROM, please give a mention and link back to this thread.

You shouldn't have been promoted to grant root access. V4A only needs root to install the driver, which is preinstalled.
If you're being prompted to install a driver, the ROM likely uses a different conf file to control audio.
Sent from my iPhone 7 Plus using Tapatalk
He built and ported to magisk recently. Has a module you need to install then install Swansong
I haven't played with it yet. I like the new app but dont see a diffence in drivers from 2.5.0.4 to 2.5.0.5
Magisk has a compatible module in his downloads via the app that works with my rom (2.5.0.4)
I install that via magisk manager then i pulled the latest viper4arise.apk and installed instead of the older ui viperfx apk that is linked on the downloads page inside magisk manager.
Driver installs correctly for many others as well. You may need to dirtyflash my rom and start over. Magisk manager also received a update yesterday via playstore. The process on phh or magisksu as its now called is different now as its "systemless" vs modifying the actual system files.
If you dont want to go 5through the hassel of above. Just go to developer settings inside of the viper apps settings and turn off selinux and recheck driver status. Im 99% sure it works this way but ive said it before, i wont push the rom this route as i dont perfer it to be off by defualt.
Hope this helps
Got it all worked out thanks to the rom creator above. Team DevDigitel.
Thank You
Thank you for your work on this flashable zip it's much appreciated, I just have a couple of questions though for anyone who might know..
I'm still running the original stock rom (rooted with TWRP) on my LG V20 and a while back I followed the directions from another thread to install V4A, and I was able to get it to work (even through bluetooth) but it's kind of wonky and just hit or miss so I'd really like to try this one out instead.
I'm assuming I should uninstall the version of V4A I have right now but is there anything else that I need to do (besides a nand backup) before flashing this one? Also one of the steps to install the V4A I have right now was deleting a system file (I'll have to go look to be sure but I believe it was something like mixer_paths.xml), so I just thought I'd check to see if that will somehow effect this version or if I possibly need to put the original file back where it was before flashing this one?
I apologize if these are stupid questions but I just thought play it safe and check first before giving this a shot, because even though the version I have is kind of wonky it still works through bluetooth which from what I've read is something that a lot of people haven't been able to get working, and since I use it so much I'm just afraid to even risk losing it. Anyway I'll definitely create a backup before doing anything but any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You don't need to delete any files for this zip. You're supposed to delete /system/etc/audioeffects.conf, but I've done that with the script.
As I use this more, Bluetooth still occasionally doesn't process after pausing for an extended period, like getting out of the car for more than 5 minutes, but all you need to do for it to kick back on is exit V4A from the menu, then open it up again. It'll immediately start processing again.
If you have an unmodified system backup to restore, that will help ensure it works OK, but it may not be needed.

Thank you for the quick response and for the info and I have no clue why I had mixer_paths on the brain but yeah audioeffects.conf is the file I had to delete while installing the version I have, and as far as what you said about the bluetooth acting up it sounds pretty similar to the wonkyness that I was describing with the version I currently have.
One weird thing that I've noticed with mine (and I don't have the slightest idea how or why it's doing it) is when I'm listening to music through my bluetooth headset, none of the settings under the "Bluetooth" section in V4A have any effect on the sound whatsoever.. but what's weird is that all of the settings under the "Headphones" section do (so it's basically like the section names were swapped somehow)?!
I know for sure that I don't have anything plugged into the jack and the headset I'm using is definitely bluetooth (because it's pretty easy to tell lol), so I have no clue why the settings under headphones would work just fine while the ones under bluetooth don't do it anything at all?
Anyway thank you again for the info I'll give it a shot as soon as I have time and let ya know how it went, and unfortunately the only thing I didn't backup was my unmodified system (it didn't even cross my mind until after I was done rooting) but hopefully it'll still be ok. Thanks again!

You can definitely control BT devices from the BT tab on this one. And I've found with more testing that before I get in my car, switch to V4A and exit it, then open it again as soon as Play Music connects. Works every time.
I would just like to say thank you!!
I installed this .zip on my T-mo variant over the previous V4A install via dirty flash. It resolved my Bluetooth processing issues on the stock V20 ROM. I've been working on this the past few days. VERY happy it now works in my car like my last phone did!
Now, once I get the nerve to flash over the new modem and bootloader via TWRP to get up to 20j, I'm highly inclined to check out the new ROM by NATF.
Cheers!

Thank you.
The new modem and other firmware is not a strict requirement for ROMs built on 10j. You just need to make sure TWRP is on the latest release.

I [obviously] didn't create V4A, but if you include my zip in your ROM, please give a mention and link back to this thread.

Excellent! I'm glad it works for you. The changes made should work on multiple devices, I just couldn't test it myself.
Can we flash this if we have dolby? Or should I uninstall dolby 1st?

Thanks!
Just wanted to say thanks for this. It worked great right from the get go. If anybody is wondering its running on JDCTeam AOSP 7.1.2 on a beat up old S4.
