Hi,
I was wondering about unlock or not unlock bootloader. Not yet rooted with .510 firmware I tried to check and unchecked X-reality engine and look at my pictures. Most of my pix are taken with with camera so from basic colors are already good from the start.
Result is I didn't see any differences, colors was the same. I was a that time stock (flashed VNese .ftf on HK phone and updated again via Pc Companion) and never rooted my phone. So I rooted my phone with vroot then Ta backup and tested again. Was the same. And finally unlocked bootloader and rooted but I still can check X-reality engine and colors on my phone look exactly the same.
So I really wonder if people experience the same things than me or not?

Try this:
1. Open a picture in Album app (xreality only works in album cmiiw)
2. Open display settings. Turn off xreality.
3. Back to the opened picture (use the multi tasker so you can switch back and forth quickly).. Notice the difference? Most likely no. I having trouble too.
4. Back to the xreality setting, turn it on.
5. Quick! Back to picture!
6. Look closely, some part of the picture is not finished rendering yet (some square areas with different color tone)
7. Couple of seconds and the whole picture finished rendering.
The question is, does the unrendered picture actually the same as the original picture when xreality is off? Duh.
But I can recognize the difference when playing videos (and xreality still works on videos even when bootloader is unlocked)

It is exactly what I did. Can't see a difference, and as I have the same rendering between locked and unlocked it is fine for me. Didn't try video yet as I don't have anything good under the hand.
Bravia engine was ported on many devices without the DRM key so I see why it wouldn't work here with xreality

Just remember to back up your TA partition if you choose to unlock it. Actually, you should do it even if you don't want to unlock it now, you know.. just in case.

Hi,
Both me and my girlfriend have the sk17i. We have noticed that on most of the photos we take the photos are quite green looking. are there any settings to get rid of this or camera drivers we can update?
Help appreciated,
Thanks
There might still be a small plastic cover on your camera lens. Did you checked?
Sent from my WT19i using XDA
we took those off when we get the phone. there is no tint on videos
Try different camera app to test

camera 360 appears to work well. Anyone know why the stock camera adds a green tint to everything? its a bit disappointing as I like all the options on stock..
thanks melander!
are you using stock rom and kernel?.
what fw version do you have?.
if stock, try going to applications then clear data on camera app, test.
try also doing factory reset in privacy setting.
an update may be available, try to do so...
if using custom rom, then try reinstalling it,
clear data, partition, dalvik, reflash rom...
Hi,
I get a black stripe in every photo app. I attached a picture. It is photoshopped to show you how it looks, because a screenshot doesn´t show it.
I have a cleanly installed UK Stock LG8 ROM.
It doesnt happen in the 16:9 mode, just in the original 8mp mode.
Any ideas?
I used to have a similar problem with my HTC desire but it would also have a nice purple overlay in the camera app as well as the black bar
Unfortunately the only way it got fixed was to send it back to HTC but im pretty sure they only updated the software.

Jack

1- go here and perform the camera software update (need to be done with stock kernel)
2-if you use a custom kernel, check that he use the last samsung sources release and not outdated one
3- if none of the 2 first work: try a factory reset

@XperianPro
When i change my wallpaper p.ex. for a yellow one, i still have the light bar displaying the Blue Light from the Blue Theme...
I think that this app makes the lightbar display the colour based on the Wallpaper and not based on the Theme...
Gotta try the app
This thing works ! Great job stracian! Now if you could add an option to crop the pic it would be great.

Well app works great.

Works well for me. You can also change back to another wallpaper the regular way and keep the colour led's. Nice option for unrooted users.
Thanks!
EDIT:
When using dark pictures, like black ones with only a few colour elements the average is very dark, resulting in the bar lighting up at lowest brightness. Not really a problem for me, just wanted to give some feedback.

Hi, I´ve installed and it works nice. But how to unload from memory without needing to unistall?
Thanks,

app has no cache data or some others data.
this dont need to unload from memory.
just uninstall or set some theme.
@ououououo:
thank you, yes i need any feedback i know, that is like you describe. i dont know for now, how to drop color from grey scale if detect.
I can't install this, it says "application not installed". Any suggestions? I have installing unsigned apps enabled.
Never mind. Installed, but I better like the default leds.
I installed it, but I didn't like it so I unninstaled. But now when i change my wallpaper the colour stays as it was when I had this app.
Any ideas how to change my colour?
This is not really a question, but more of a suggestion for those who can't stand to use the current Camera on Liquid and Jesters Roms. Personally, I take a lot of pictures with my phone and the quality from that APK was quite bad when it was dark compared to what it was.
So after a lot of research, here's what I did:
Downloaded Root Explorer from the Google Play.
Browsed to system/app
Mount R/W and deleted Camera.apk
Downloaded this camera apk from MIUI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15307536&postcount=167
Installed it and voila - working camera with focus.
Note: Camcorder still doesn't work
I'm not sure if it's required to uninstall the Camera.apk (chances are no), however it's what I done.
think this may work with AOKP?
No go

You mean it shows the controls, but a blank screen right? You have to take one picture like that, and after that it displays the screen and it works fine. You'll have to do that each time you start up the app unfortunately, but still it's better than crap quality and no focus.

I have added support for Xperia SP to U-Disco so I figured I will mention that in here too.
The original thread is over in the Xperia U forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970167
It will give you different light patterns in the illumination bar.
Some of them require music to work, other will light up anyway.
It only works on Xperia U, Xperia P or Xperia SP, and it also requires ROOT to get individual access to the LEDs.
Get the free version here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rundgong.udisco
The pro version has more colors and can run in the background. Otherwise they are the same.
Get the pro version here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rundgong.udiscopro
I have not tried it on SP myself but let me know if you find any bugs. I'll try to fix them.
Thanks to @DooMLoRD for describing the leds in another thread, and @sagar29 for testing it on SP
It works in my sp and it looks amazing thanks

Hopefully it will make the lights a bit more smooth.
Let me know if you think it is better or worse.

Hi, leds on SP are surely better supported now: the "preview" during choosing the color works now, and I guess it starts for example the strobe a bit faster (still over 1 second delay after setting the color).
Rainbow and others where we can't choose a color are running instantly.
Hi! Thanks for the great app. There's an issue though. Just copying my own review from Play Market:
Doesn't work in Walkman with headphones plugged in. If you plug out the headphones and then plug them in again, LEDs begin to flash until a song changes. Would be great if you could fix the bug. Best regards.

I have the latest firmware installed (254); no sound mods. Tried to soft/hard reset the phone also, but that hasn't changed anything. Discolight by Sagar Kar has no such issue (but seems a bit buggy in general, that's why I'd like this app to be fully-functional). Can anyone confirm the bug? Or that's me who's so «lucky»?

I don't see that behavior. But there will be strange effects if both the walkman app and this app writes to the LEDs at the same time.
There may be flickering and maybe odd colors as well. Otherwise I think it works.

OK, I got it. Today I had reinstalled FW from SUS with full wipes, then installed ES Explorer and U-Disco. As a last step I disabled "Music beat light effect". The general order of actions is following: 1. I launch U-Disco, choose a Coloured beat with any colour, and Speakers as an Audio source; 2. I launch Walkman and play any song – LEDs are flashing; 3. I stop the playback in Walkman and open any other song in ES Explorer – it works as well; 4. I stop the song and quit U-Disco, plug in headphones, then repeat the first step; 5. I launch Walkman and play any song – nothing happens; 6. I switch to ES Explorer and try my luck there – no success; 7. Then I return to Walkman, start playback and then plug the headphones out – LEDs still aren't flashing; 8. I simply switch to any other song inside Walkman and voila! Everything works as a charm again even after plugging the headphones back in! 9. But when I switch the song once more with the hp's inserted – LEDs flicker several times and die out. I've tried any possible variations, different headphones. Tried to reset the phone after installing and so on – nope.
What can be the reason of such a behaviour? Something is obviously not working as it should (quite possibly it's my phone) if you experience no such issue, but what? I would be endlessly thankful for any ideas or suggestions.

Good description. Now I can reproduce it also.
I have no idea why it behaves like that though. It's not like that on Xperia U.
It might be a bug in the audio framework, but I really don't know.
thx.. its work and awesome
Version 1.7 is out.
It adds some effects that use the camera flash instead of the illumination bar.
Using the camera flash does not require root, and it will also work on most other devices as well.
The new effects are are a flash strobe light and also lighting the flash according to the beat of the music.

It seems like the LEDS only work when music goes out throught internal speaker. When you have Headphones or bluetooth speaker connected, no LED will light up. With and Without U-disco
