HOW TO UNBRICK A ZOPO ZP950+
After spending some time on Russian forums I found a way to un-brick my device.
Hopefully this will be useful to other people as well .
You will need:
1. SP Flash Tool - ATTACHED
2. preloader.bin from another simillar MT6589 ROM (I used the one from the latest official Iocean X7 ROM) - PRELOADER
3. Latest JB 4.2.1 from Zopo - ZOPO 4.2.1 ROM - http://zopomobile.com/xiazai.php
4. MT6589 drivers - ATTACHED
STEPS:
1. Install the MT6589 drivers on your WINDOWS computer
2. take the battery out of your phone and connect the USB cable, windows should install the required drives. Disconnect the phone
3. Start SP Flash and select the scatter file from the archive you have downloaded
4. DESELECT EVERYTHING except PRELOADER
5. Click on PRELOADER and browse to the newly downloaded PRELOADER_UNBRICK file
6. Click on Download and ignore the message
7. Now, this is very important, while holding the VOLUME + button connect the USB to the phone, do not let go of the VOLUME + button, hold it until the SP FLASH process finishes, mine took about a couple of minutes, while the process bar went to 100% RED and then through a PURPLE if I remember correctly. Only let go of the VOLUME + when you see the last GREEN CIRCLE. ( IF SP FLASH CAN'T SEE THE PHONE WHEN YOU PLUG THE USB, STILL HOLDING THE VOLUME + BUTTON, INSERT THE BATTERY - THE PROCESS IS THEN THE SAME)
8. Now, if this went OK, you should have a brand new working preloader on your phone
9. Disconnect the cable from the phone and Restart SP Flash Tool
10. Same steps as before, select the scatter file, but now DESELECT the PRELOADER
11. click on DOWNLOAD and ignore the message
12. With the battery out reconnect the USB cable to the phone, if the flashing process doesn't start, insert the battery and the flashing process will start. It will take a good few minutes, but you should be OK.
13. DO NOT TAKE THE BATTERY OUT AFTER THE FLASHING PROCESS HAS FINISHED, JUST DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE AND PRESS THE POWER BUTTON
14. FINGERS CROSSED YOUR UNBRICKED DEVICE IS NOW POWERING
GOOD LUCK!
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THIS PROCESS MIGHT CAUSE TO YOUR DEVICE.THIS PROCESS MIGHT WORK WITH OTHER MT6589 DEVICES
Did this help you? Please feel free to leave a comment below. I'll try and help as much as I can.
Hi and thanks for the guide,
I just did the steps and my ZP980 2gb does flash preloader and then the rest of the rom, when i boot up its dead.
So flashing works but thats just about it.
No indication that its loading either...
Hi, did you follow the steps exactly? Also, I think you should try flashing a preloader from a Zopo C2.

I flashed the phone again and used another usb cable, i Flashed preloader from "ZP980 SET 130818 B vers" holding volume up.
Restarted spflash and did the same procedure according to the guide by holding volume up but this time without the preloader and same scatter "ZP980 SET 130818 B vers" worked perfectly!
The phone is alive!
Super. I'm glad it worked.

Hi Zaggi,
I've faced the same problem with my ZP980-32GB and I try to follow your steps. Unfortunately, it's still does not success. For how long do you have to wait for the 100 % violet strip and Green circle in each time ?

It sounds like you need to try another USB cable or another port on your computer.
Are you sure you installed the drivers?
And BTW the phone has to be off, I did the steps with my battery connected.. Hope it helps.
Sorry for the late reply.

Found your guide. I have the same issue with Jiayu G4 Advanced. I didn't flashed any rom, but suddenly yesterday the phone stopped to responding. I removed the battery and after put it back the phone switched on but stuck on Jiayu logo for minutes. Battery was charged.
I've noticed on windows device manager that there's no MTK Preloader Driver, only DA and USB PORT.
So I cannot revive my phone with this method. It's a hardware issue then.

Yes, open FlashTools first and dont connect Xperia S yet.
Click FlashMode, and Start the Flash.
Wait when the FlashTools say (in a windows pop up): " Turn Off your Device, Unpluged..." you connect your xperia S in your PC (in flashmode) with UBS cable, and solved the problem...

It seems a bit tricky, however the workaround previously mentioned in this thread worked for me too. I'll just mention the step by step process for getting through this problem.
>make sure your device is not connected to the computer.
>start FLASH TOOL.
>press flash and select the version of firmware you want to upgrade/downgrade to from the pop up. (Assuming you might have already downloaded the required firmware in your flash tool installed folder.)
>now FLASH TOOL will prompt you to connect the phone. Do so. While pressing the "down vol button" of your switched off device
(for Xperia S/SL). The phone will go into flash mode and you can see green notification light up in your phone.
>There you go, your firmware will flash and phone will be rebooted.
All right. So, important:
If you have WINDOWS 8.1, then don't even try to get flashmode/fastboot. Trust me, it won't work. And yes, different problem than it was on windows 8. As I searched, I think there is a main problem with USB inf files themselves on windows 8.1, and yet you can't put correct drivers on it, because it doesn't even recognize the phone in fastboot or flash mode. Search on google, and you'll find some answers, and there is a fix that maybe works with USB 3.0, but I don't have usb 3.0, so I cant test it
hi all,
I'm having Motorola XT910 with BMM installed & slot-1 was 'ICS' & slot-2 is Jelly Bean 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.AU IMPROVED also CID backuped & deleted to install JB.
I was happy with working on JB on slot-2 with erased CID & updated EU JB Kernel because It was on stock ISC.
Now problem starts accidently someone has deleted my slot-1 ( format/unmount /data, /system etc.) hence after that I got only boot screen not BMM boot menu. as a matter of fact same was installed on slot-1.
How to restore my phone on Jelly Bean 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.AU IMPROVED without BMM or using stock slot-1 ??
Does it require to restore the original CID which i had backuped ?
Also I think battery is exhausted in my phone so when I connect charger the only 'white' LED indication is showing in front ....Does it charging the battery?
Pl. do the needful as I have only this phone ...& i really loved it !!!!:fingers-crossed:

You didn´t have to erase CID,EU roms work with CID on EU devices.I know because I have XT910 also.
I think the best solution for you is to start over.
Here https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/42057363/RSDLite_v6.1.x.zip is RSD Lite 6.1.5
Here https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481/action/auth are Motorola drivers

Hi Brother...
Thanks for the prompt response .....
I just want to respecify that I'm having Motorola Razr maxx (Indian market) hence earlier it was on ICS with ICS kernel...... Same was unable to accept "Jelly Bean 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.AU IMPROVED LIGHT " ROM since its on JB kernel .......
That time I had deleted CID & then flashed JB kernel to facilitate above mentioned JB version on my phone....
Should I have to perform the operation to opt the same ROM ?
Can I have clean install the desired stock ROM ?
Any other updated stock ROM version is available as on date? I appreciate your edited modified version of JB ROM .. its smooth, stable & light too...

That rom works with JB Kernel,I know, but it´s enough to flash JB Kernel and then rom, there is no need to erase CID.
"Can I have clean install the desired stock ROM ?"
"Any other updated stock ROM version is available as on date?"
I don´t follow you...
I told you,the best option is going back to stock with RSD Lite, root the phone, install BMM and then you can flash whatever you want.
Thanks .....
I have installed RSD lite 6.1.5 & Motorola drivers software on my laptop....then connect the USB cable to phone & laptop. the only indication is showing on phone is 'white' light constant on.

I´m not sure, but I think that you don´t need your CID for flashing with RSD Lite.
Maybe you can try this:
How to restore CID partition
fastboot flash mbm allow-mbmloader-flashing-mbm.bin
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash cid yourcid.img
fastboot reboot

Yes,uninstall everything related to Motorola.
Try first to connect your phone normally, not in Ap fastboot mode, then shut it off and turn it on with 3 buttons.
I assume that you have internet connection on your laptop...when you connect the phone,it should find and install missing drivers by itself.
Actually I had done all steps that you have mentioned but same issue.....
Also checked drivers on internet but no luck....
Error is showing ' Device is not recognized' & device manager showing 'the device is stopped as there is some malfuntion detected" which i think means is my phone is not readable or feasible on fast boot cable....... m i right ?

While I was looking for answers for your problem,I read that some guy had the same problem as yours and he tried all of that on different computer and it worked!
I had tried a lot with 4 different systems ( WinXp, Win7 64-32 bit on 2 desktop & 2 laptops) but not luck......
Sorry to say that I'm really frustrated & finally end up with opening my lovely Razr maxx.....to charge battery manually as suggested in other thread.
So Right now, I have opened my Xt910 back cover, removed the screws, dismantled the assembly & now only screen with PCB attached & battery also is with me.
I have attached Red(+) wire on connector on phone on left side & Black (-) wire on connector on right side as polarity shown on battery itself.
Connected to my laptop's USB port since 30 mins.....now finders crossed...let see what happens??
Can you pl. confirm how much time to give for complete battery charge on laptop ?
Can I connect wall charger directly to the this USB cable connected directly on battery ? ( I think i won't as positive & negative wires are directly attached on phone's connector panel.... so i may end up with blast or complete failure ?? Is it ?
Pl. suggest the way forward ....thanks ....
Hello,
Today I downloaded a few stock roms and I installed them with SP flash tool smoothly without any issue. In the end I installed again the latest stock rom but this time my phone went dead, the screen is black and my pc doesn't recognise the device.
Also, I opened the cover and removed the battery without any luck.
Please help me! :'(
Revert to old one. I saw some reports on elephone p9000 customer forums. always update the official way!
This happened to me once when flashing the ROM on the P9000, luckily though I just held the power button continuously for about 5 mins and it powered up. I guess if it wont power up, its an Elephone warranty issue to get it repaired
I let it overnight with the battery unplugged and somehow SP flash managed to recognise it and installed a new ROM.
Thank you guys for all the replies!
Hi!
I did live the same situation, and this happened to me when I flashed a custom ROM with the preloader that comes with it.
I suggest you to download a complete official Stock Rom and try to flash it with SP Flashtool by forcing the MT65XX Preloader status.
For this you need to be sure that your phone is completely OFF.
Just start SP Flashtool load the scatter file that comes with the Stock ROM archive and let everything ticked as it is by default (preloder file too) and click on the Download button.
Let the downlaod option to be set as "Download Only" and click on the "Download" button with the green arrow.
At this step, SP Flashtool should be waiting for your phone to be connected.
With your phone completely OFF, connect the USB cable on the phone keep the Vol - button pressed and connect the other side of the cable to the computer.
If everything's OK, the computer should recognize the phone as an MT65XX Preloder device and SP Flashtool will launch the flashing process.
Wait till the end when the OK checkbox pop-up appear and your phone should rework as usual.
Tell us if this method helped you and give us some feedback if you need more support.
Good luck.
hi, may i know how can i force mt65xx preloader status

Hi Zamarano.
I've explained how to force the pre loader status in my preceding message....
But maybe you did not understand how it is written...
To go in this mode, you have to follow carefully all the step above until you press the download button in SP flashtool.
At this stage, the computer is waiting for you to plug your phone.
You need to be sure your phone is completely OFF.
After this keep the Vol- (Volume Down) button pressed but do not switch ON your phone, and connect your USB cable to your phone first and in the USB port of your computer in second time.
If you follow these step, the download process must begin automatically.
You can remove your finger from the Vol- (Volume Down) button when the download process has begun.
I hope these advices will help you.
The following fix worked on my dead Elephone P9000 (thanks to djelloul) ; and good luck.:
Download the Stock Rom (or the Aerom v5 Rom which I used) and extract it afterwards...
(MTK drivers should be working ok on you pc (google it if needed)).
Phone must be completely OFF en unplugged to pc.
Start SP Flashtool load the correct scatter file that comes with the ROM and let everything ticked as it is by default (preloder file too! forcing the MT65XX Preloader status).
Let the download option to be set as "Download Only" (Note that the "Download only" did not work for me. So I used "Format All + Download" option. Be careful here because everything will be deleted!)
Now click on the "Download" button with the green arrow.
At this step: SP Flashtool should be waiting for your phone to be connected.
With your phone completely OFF, attach the USB cable to the phone, then push the VOL+ button and hold it down, then connect the USB cable to the computer.
If everything's OK, the computer should recognize the phone as an MT65XX Preloder device and SP Flashtool will launch the flashing process. Wait till the end when the OK checkbox pop-up appear and your phone should rework as usual.
Unplug the phone and close the SP Flashtool.
Plug the phone again to the pc and wait...
Now the phone seems alive again, and the led lamp will light up. The phone will show for a second a strange battery icon, and then goes off again.
The battery is probably dead by now. Wait to charge the battery and be patient.
After +/- 20 minutes the battery is strong enough to turn the phone on.
Hope this will work for you. Tell us if this method helped you and so we can help othes who have this same problem.
Good luck.
...
Good night, after a week of phone dead to, and several attempts to revive, I hereby thank all the participants in my odyssey, and I come to say that I could install the V5 rom and that the phone is fully functional for now everything works fine .... but only with some use I can say fully ..... Thank you all .....

Hey mate, I need help. I believe my P9000 Lite is hard bricked because the LCD does not light up at all. The battery was fully charged so I don't know why the screen isnt lit up. I flashed 20160315 Rom and this was the result. No longer got a responsive screen. I took out the battery and put it back in and still no luck. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks
Same problem here and have tried every solution previously mentioned
I have a hard bricked Elephone p9000 does not turn on and has no working buttons. Have fallowed many tutorials on how to fix but all keep ending in the same result*BROM ERROR : STATUS_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (0xC0050005) I have fallowed instructions and have tried to flash just the preloader, I have tried to format, I have tried to firmware upgrade I have tried every option the sp flash tool offers all met with the same result**BROM ERROR : STATUS_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (0xC0050005) when i look online it tells me to try a different port but i have been trying to fix this at least*a little*BROM ERROR : STATUS_EXT_RAM_EXCEPTION (0xC0050005). I am using the test point on the circuit board to get the PC to recognize the phone and it attaches and detaches over and over but if i hit download on the flash tool it starts and goes to 100% on the first red bar but can not get it to go past that no matter what i try holding vol up or down when plugging in makes no difference**??? IDK what im doing wrong?
* I am trying to flash the original stock rom from Elephone web page. Can someone help me out please ? Thanx*advance**

DISCLAMERI did not make any of the roms or tools listed(aside for editing the updater script) I simply developed a recovery process that worked for me and shared my experience to help those who have bricked the device. DONT TRY ANY OF THIS IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT THE POSSIBILITY OF SCREWING UP YOUR DEVICE.
Decooler m9s pro brick recovery UPDATED METHOD 3/17/2017
You can now simply flash the full rom into the device with usb burning tool and is the recommended method for recovering the device.
however i will still leave the old method posted for reference.
(If your device is not displaying on the burn tool you may still have to short pins on the nand chip listed in step 3 of the old method.)
DOWNLOAD THE FULL FACTORY RECOVERY PACKAGE WITH FULL INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO AND USB Burning Tool v2.0.5.15 BELOW
OR
IF YOU CAN STILL GET INTO RECOVERY YOU CAN INSTALL TWRP AND FLASH MODIFIED M9S pro firmware. If you are using the MODIFIED M9S pro firmware for flashing the device with twrp then you may need to also re-root the device by installing supersu from within twrp.
(OLD METHOD)
I got the box fully restored with this process.
Unit was bricked (stuck on the red light with no video or response from the remote, boot card maker was unresponsive.)
I managed to get this box back to booting by using the usb burn tool with aml_upgrade_package0607.img but you may have to short pins on the nand on the samsung chip. I put twrp on the the box with no problem however the box keeps boot looping when it gets to "STARTING APPS" after the rom trys to install because this is a mxq pro + firmware.
Pins i shorted to estlabish connection to usb burning tool are circled in small red(samsung chip)

If you tryed to flash the aml_upgrade_package0607.img firmware from this thread but get the error "package is for hx_s905 devices; this is a p200"
this is because the firmware that was used on the usb tool was not correct.
UPDATE 2 DEVICE IS UNBRICKED:I got the box fully restored with this process. Unit was bricked (stuck on the red light with no video or response from the remote, boot card maker was unresponsive.
1: Use USB_Burning_Tool to load aml_upgrade_package0607.img(this firmware is not for this device and will boot loop but will flash 100% into the box and allow access to recovery and allow twrp to be installed. Make sure file is decompressed if a rar or zip format)
2: use male to male usb cable from the back usb port to computer port.
3: !!(If needed)-short nand pins on the samsung chip to establish connection then hit start!!. (only needs to be done if your box is not being seen by the usb tool. If it is recognized, skip the pin shorting method and hold reset button while plugging in to the usb on the back of the box with out power adapter plugged in)
4: download TWRP3_VegaS95_Meta.img and rename to recovery.img and put on either sd card or usb stick(i used a usb stick on the back usb port of the box and it did work)
5: download stock firmware and edit file \m9s_ota_20160805_1022.zip\META-INF\com\google\updater-script\
after the file is edited you can then re-zip the firmware.
-------need to remove line of code in updater-script -------
getprop("ro.product.device") == "hx_s905" || abort("This package is for "hx_s905" devices; this is a "" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "".");
5: boot into twrp by holding the reset button inside the audio port, do factory wipe,
6: install stock firmware with twrp once rebooted wait like 10 minuets.

I started in the top corner(on the side where red area is in the picture. it was 2 pins that i shorted the red circle is the approximate area where the connect happened.) and slowly slid a small screwdriver down until i heard the connect from windows. I had nothing to lose and didn't care but i did not damage the nand doing this and i did it several times. I want to say i slid down 4 or 5 spaces before i heard the connect. sorry i cannot be exact but i do know i started in the top corner and worked down with out damage.
File you posted is a disk image file and might save alot of time if it dose indeed work in usb burning tool. If you try please let me know how it went with your image.

I can now confirm that this image fully installs using the usb burning tool. Thanks for the share. This means people can load this rom and not have to load the aml_upgrade_package0607.img and do the edit to the factory roms update script.

did you try a different hdmi cable?(mine was bad that came with the box)
Is your box recognized by the usb burning tool?
if box is recognized, did it complete the flash to 100%?
did you try to enter recovery by holding the reset button inside the audio port while applying power ?
did you check if remote commands will power off the box and make the light go red?
when i did this method, my light was stuck on red from loading a incorrect rom and the burning tool wouldn't connect unless i shorted the pins. If your box is recognized by the usb burning tool then you need to hold the reset in while applying power before flashing. the blue light when power is applied seems to be normal functionality and shows that the correct boot is starting.
Yes I have made all these. But nothing happens.
I think that my nand flash has problem.
a normal case is this. when you put the power cable first you see red led and then you see blue.
on my tvbox the blue led ligts on when i put the power cable.
at the begining my tv box was with red led,but as i tryed to make a short between pins, the led went from red to blue and stuck to blue. (it was before i see your posts and i made a short between to many times on to many pins)

this is because of wrong firmware that i used on the usb tool but haven't found any other image firmware that would successfully flash past 2% in the usb burning tool . For those who bricked the device this is at least forward momentum.

The zip file is inside the rar file. you have to extract the .rar with any suitable extraction program (like winrar free) then use the zip in twrp
I extracted the zip file but didn't work yet.

It stuck on red light no hdmi signal.
I couldn't unbrick using usb burning, I can't pass 7 porcent ( I managed to do it before) neither install twrp.
Any help ? I was thinking of try to make a sd bootable. Does anyone know how to do it ?
Did you try
aml_upgrade_package0607.img in burning tool?
Hello.I have a m9s-pro of a friend.
The problem is that the tvbox not boot and I always see red light. On my tv I see white screen. I was trying to reflash it with usb burning tool and the stock firmware. The progress always is success 100% but every time I try to boot I have the same problem. White screen and red light.
Any help please?

This is for the S95, but may work on others.
For starters, let's get a couple of things configured. Make sure you are using the primary USB ports on your PC/Laptop. Make sure you are not using a USB 3.0 port. Make sure that your USB ports do not have power saving enabled. Make sure you are using the S95's OTG port, this is the one closest to the SD card slot.
NOTE: It is very important, that you follow every step as written and in order.
1.) On your computer, go to C:\Program Files\Amlogic\USB_Burning_Tool\WorldCup_Device.
In that folder is an exe file named, "InstallDriver.exe", run that, if you get permission dialog popups, allow them.
2.) Download the correct update file for your device and the version you want, make sure you download the file specified for use with the USB Burning Tool. The file may require extraction to end up with a file ending in ".img".
3.) We are using a method that does not require pressing the Fn switch.
4.) Open the USB Burning Tool and load the update image you downloaded.
5.)Remove the power cable from the S95. Disconnect all USB accessories and disconnect any SATA drive. Remove SD card if one is inserted.
6.) Starting with the Male-to-Male USB cable unplugged from both ends, insert the USB cable in to the S95's OTG port, do not connect the other end to the PC yet.
7.) In the USB tool, leave settings at default, except check "Force Erase All" and click the Start button.
8.) Insert the Male-to-Male USB cable's free end in to your PC.
9.) Watch the tool to see if the S95 gets recognized, if it does the flash should begin.
If after 30-40 seconds it does not recognize the S95, Do nothing to the USB Burning Tool, unplug the USB cable from your PC and wait 5 seconds. Reinsert the USB cable in to your PC. Repeat step # 9. Try this 3-4 times before giving up.
10.) If the flash is successful, plug the power cable in to the S95 and disconnect the USB cable. Stop and close the USB Burning Tool.

Did the OP ever get this issue resolved? I have a 3g/32g Z69 Plus that I managed to unbrick using firmware from another S912 box, but am still looking for the correct firmware for my box.
I can post Linux instructions, and the wrong firmware that sort of works if anyone needs them.
Here you can find your Z69 Plus firmware (factory): Z69_Plus_3G_7.1_0824.rar
Install using AmLogic USB Tool.

Thanks for posting the firmware link! I had actually found that exact same file earlier, but it wasn't working on my z69 Plus. It kept booting to a green screen after flashing that firmware. There was definitely something wrong with my device, because I flashed again on a second z69 Plus and everything worked as expected.
I created a bootable SD card using these instructions. I could make an image of this SD card available to download if it would be useful to anyone.

Is there a working TWRP recovery image for this box? I am able to hold down the reset button and boot into the standard recovery just fine, but I can't seem to get into TWRP. I have tried placing a couple of recovery images on the SD card, renamed to "recovery.img", but I can't seem to get it to work. I don't want to try via fastboot unless I know I am working with the correct recovery image.
I am searching for it so. But I don't know how to enter in the recovery menu. The menu is visible, but dead. There is a line: no command and help to use the power button and vol.+ and vol.- keys. I tried any possible combinations with no success. Would You be so kind to help me, if You know that.
Thank you!
I have not tried with the remote it came with, but I was able to navigate the menu with an Air Mouse I have in order to do a factory reset in the stock recovery.
You could always try plugging in a usb keyboard and seeing if the arrow and enters keys get the job done.
Thank you,
USB keyboard works... It didn't come to my mind to try... I flashed the box with a success through the USB port, but from now I shall use this.
I came to another problem: let's take for example AnTuTu Benchmark, or ACMarket, or whatever else apk which is on portrait mode. An area of about two thirds of the picture from the left is cut vertically. My other box zooms out such pictures and fits them to the screen and I can roll down to see the lower end of the picture.
It is some point of the build.prop or somewhere else, I don't know...
Is it the same on your box?
I have had apps do that, and i never figured out why or how to fix it.
I have same problem here on same box, I have entered in recovery, you need to unplug box, pess resert button and plug box in and hold reset button about 10-20 sec, and you are in recovery, I have returned it to factory setting and nothing, it is stuck on load screen.

Flash it. See post #5. It worked for me.
I like this launcher. It woks without problems on Z69 plus.
Turned the box upside down and with this cooler the temperature is down with 20 degrees!

And here for (2): https://www.dropbox.com/s/2ia2psnbx9yksst/AmlogicFlashTool_new.zip?dl=1
I brushed the box with the last firmware of Vorke Z6 Plus tv box, as this box has the same hardware as ours.
Even that max. supported ROM size for Vorke is 32 GB, the firmware recognized my box's eMMC 64 GB.
Everything is working fine.
There are many advantages compared with the original firmware.
I replaced the stock recovery as I showed in my previous post. Now it is easy to make backups and many more.
The stock remote (naturally) doesn't work with this firmware, but if you use a wireless remote, or wireless mouse, as me, this is not a big problem.
(May be someone will make a patch for the stock remote)

Did the OP ever get this issue resolved? I have a 3g/32g Z69 Plus that I managed to unbrick using firmware from another S912 box, but am still looking for the correct firmware for my box.
I can post Linux instructions, and the wrong firmware that sort of works if anyone needs them.
