I was trying to upgrade my canvas hd a116 to 4.2, (official releaese) using the tutorial mentioned below.
i am unable to connect my device system, always getting 'installing drivers' then it turns into 'MT65XX preloader error'.
i have installed driver properly, tried on both win 7 64 (x64) and win 7 32 (x86).

Try these steps:
1. Go to the right bottom corner of the desktop and wait for the side menu to appear. When it's there click on the gear icon with the title "Settings".
2. Now click on the entry "More PC Settings", then click on the entry "General".
4. Scroll down to "Restart now" (under "Advanced startup") and click it.
5. Wait a bit for a menu.
6. Now click "Troubleshoot", then "Advanced Options" and after that click "Windows Startup Settings".
7. Click on "Restart" and and then again install the drivers..then they will be installed

Well it is definitely driver problem, grab a Dc-Uninstaller just google it and uninstall any driver named with MediaTek and A116 whichever driver it is uninstall, then connect phone install drivers from phone's CD drive as popped and as per your PC config, then switch off the phone connect it in offline mode it will ask for drivers, as you have the preloader driver give it from the preferred location. And then Happy Flashing!! :fingers-crossed:
Brother try different sp flash tool ( different version) . I experienced it too but tried a different version and boom its working.
Also a suggestion try to install vcom drivers. I dint installed any Micromax drivers, just installed vcom one... And it does great work.
Happy to help
STEPS:-
1.Install USB Drivers of Micromax on your PC
2.Download(Google it) and Intall PDaNet
3.Download and Install usbdeview from here http://www.v3.co.uk/v3-uk/download-review/1955865/usbdeview-185
4.Now Download and Install MTK6589 VCom drivers
5.Run usbdeview as administrator and see if it shows MTK6589 Preloader if yes then right click on it and uninstall it and if no then follow step 6
6.Switch your phone now press volume up key and power on simultaneoulsy connect your phone to PC
7.On PC it will pop up in notification regarding Installing Mtk6589 preloaders and you are done
8.Now 100% your SP Flash Tools will detect your phone and you can flash.

I have perfect solution for not detecting device IN SP FLASH TOOL.first download the(attachment) driver file and extract it.then open device manager from control panal and switch off your phone and connect it to pc via cable, for some moment you will see "MT65XX Preloader",be quick, right click on it and update driver and choose from local directory and browse your extracted folder.again windows will prompt for driver installation and click yes.after sucessful driver installation you can proceed to sp flash tool.it will detect your device.
press thanks if helped

In order to flash my SGS2 with an KE7 rooted kernel (XWKE7 is the kernel when I purchased my device) I tried to install the drivers for Windows 7.
I have a clean Windows 7 VMware session on my Macbook (I don't have a Windows PC, but everything which works under ̇Windows natively also works in VMware session) , set USB debugging OFF on my Galaxy and plugged it int the USB. Then Windows started with 'Finding device drivers' , but it says 'Mobile MTP device: failed' .
On Mac OSX (10.7) it works normally and Kies connects. Of course, I have connected the USB port to the VMware session when using Windows.
And I installed Kies to enforce device driver installation but that didn't help. Moreover, KIES appeared in RED under W7.
Then I tried again under an XP SP3 VMware session, same issue.
Should I first install the drivers before proceeding to Odin or can I use Odin now ? I am reluctant to try as I am scared for 'partially flashing and bricking' the device.
Of course, I'll close Kies before starting Odin as they don't like each other.
Does somebody have any ideas ?

As far as i know, kies automatically installs the drivers for the SGSii when u install it...
Hmm id just try putting the phone in download mode and plug it into the computer with odin open, if the com7/yellow box shows up in odin id say you are good. If not, then yeah. You are good as long as you don't flash anything , you can just pull the battery from the phone to get out of download mode again WHILE ITS NOT FLASHING anything of course .
Just my 2 cents.
Drivers are always needed, without it how would the phone connect?
Luckily Odin simply will not work without the correct USB drivers .
Usb drivers can be found in the Kies folder in program files .
jje
Thanks. But in that folder C:/Program Files/Samsung/USB Drivers are a lot of numbered / named subfolders.
Which should I choose ?

Thanks, now Windows 7 recognizes the driver and is properly installed.
Then I started the real thing with Odin.
I started Odin, restarted the Galaxy in download mode, connected the USB port and let windows choose the USB , but did see nothing in the Odin screen it was connected. I did dot try further and did not flash as I was not sure whether it is really connected.
I do not see any yellow part of the window.
The phone says 'Downloading...' while I did not start.
So I pulled the battery and restarted the phone in normal mode, so I can just do another try.
Here a screenshot with the phone pluggen in in download mode:

And this is what Windows shows when Galaxy is connected in 'normal' mode:
That is *not* shown when in dowload mode, very weird.

Turn phone off .
Reboot PC.
Start PC start Phone go to wireless in settings /USB connect usb connect Samsung usb cable and let windows find drivers exit and follow instructions to download mode .
That fails turn on or if its on off USB debugging in settings applications development .
Make sure you follow the instructions on the phones download screen .

Hi everyone
i have a very rare problem with my x10 which is stocked at Sony Ericsson logo.
the problem is caused by flashing FeraLab Rom without flashing the FeraKernel before that. I didnt knew kernel is a most and should be installed first and that started to fuc my phone..
after that i tried everything in the net, installed everything that was related to xperia x10 drivers to get it detected by the PC but it just doesnt work and im still having the damn problem.
i tried using sony companion, sony update service ( which i guess doesnt support sony ericsson phones anymore ) to repair and anything els. but they're not helping me either.
I just need some help here to get my xperia x10 get detected by the windows 7 and flashtools/sony companion to repair it and reflash the roms.
right now when i connect it to pc it just says Unknown Device detected and by trying to updating driver with sdk tool and everything els, it still has problems. another message i get during this process is USB Device Not Recognized.
if any expert here have solutions for me, please give it to me, im stuck on this for about 1 week and you may know what that make me feel..

you need to connect your device in flash mode in order to install this drivers. To do this, first turn off your X10 and unplug it from your PC. Then press and hold back button and connect the phone to PC USB port. You should see black screen and green LED on, and the PC should find a new device called "SEMC HSUSB Device". Now install on this new founded device drivers from above.

try to disable digital signature requirement using this method:
Method 1.
Go to Start Menu and type "cmd.exe" in the Search Bar and press <Enter>. (Remember you must be logged on as Administrator)
OR you can go to "All Programs", then "Accessories", right-click on "Command Prompt" and choose "Run as administrator".
1. Now type the following and press <Enter> after each line:
bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON
2. Restart your computer
3. This will disable your Windows 7 driver signing.
4. Install the driver for your device (X10i)
If this did NOT work for you, here is another way to disable Windows 7 driver signing.
Method 2.
1. During boot-up, continuously press <F8> to get to Advanced Boot Options. Note: On some systems, you need to first press <F2> to go into Boot Menu, then press <F8> to reach Advanced Boot Options.
2. When the menu appears, use the DOWN arrow key to scroll to “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.”
3. Press <Enter>.
4. Continue the boot process.
5. After your computer has completed the boot process, try to install the driver for your device.
Hope this helps..

i will try to be as informative as possible.
I found my phone off in my pocket, tried to turn it on but freezes on boot/logo screen for some seconds and displays some random horizontal lines on over the logo screen like it crashed or something.
also charging logo screen(screen before the charging animation screen appears) shows some lines and reboots again to charging logo screen and do not shows charging animation.
i was using stock ROM , I thought i would flash stock ROM again using TWRP(installed earlier) but recovery is not opening.
So I tried connecting to my laptop.
In the past, I've used SP flash tool to flash recoveries, it worked fine.
drivers are fine.
now it rarely detects "MediaTek preloader usb vcom port" like it should be, but mostly it detects "MTK usb port" which is useless and don't works.
flashing works only when "MediaTek preloader usb vcom port" is detected and don't work when "MTK usb port".
when "MTK usb port" is detected, SP flash tool just detects, doesn't do anything and after some seconds shows error "S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTING_FAIL" and solution "Please check your image to matches with your phone which is to be downloaded." please do not focus here as device should have detected as "MediaTek preloader usb vcom port".
when it rarely detects "MediaTek preloader usb vcom port", the flashing process starts but strucks in the middle and fails.
drivers installed in laptop are correct .
what should i do now ???
any other tools can i use ?
I think u have to install again drivers and vcom driver.Did u try format and download option in spflash tool??

Hello,
I would like to root my Z5C, but I can't load the phone in fastboot mode.
I tried the following :
adb reboot bootloader (with my phone one, with usb debug)
the phone shut down completely, but nothing is displayed on the screen
power up + volume up (from my phone shutdowned)
there are three vibrations, and sometimes the logo Xperia appears for a few second, but then the screen show the charging icon
power down + plug usb (from my phone shutdowned)
nothing appends
each time, I tried the following command to check if the phone was indeed in fastboot mode :
fastboot devices
but I get nothing (empty list).
Could you help me please?
thanks in advance.
As far as I know, only the led will light up. The display stays black. Have you looked in the device manager if your device is recognized there. Maybe as an unknown device etc?
then I probably don't have the correct driver. I installed this one
developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/drivers/xperia-z5-compact-driver
Do you know where I can find the correct driver?
In device manager, I see a new item when I plug my phone :
USB mass storage device
I tried to update the driver with the one mentioned before, but it says that it is already up to date.

You've got some commands wrong. Volume up plus power is hard reset. You get 3 vibrations then phone is off.
To get into fastboot mode or flash mode you do not use power button and phone needs to be off. Simply hold volume up and plug in USB for fastboot mode, or hold volume down plus plug in USB for flash mode. Blue LED for fastboot and green LED for flash mode.

but when I tried to update the driver, I get a message error saying
windows could not find driver software for your device.I run out of option (I might try this with linux, but I have no machine running under linux right now).
try forcing install of the driver by selecting the unknow device/detected phone and update/install driver by "find software driver in pc" then "choose manually driver from a driver list" then "driver disk" button on the right, "explore" and go the folder and select the downloaded driver. Be sure to install the correct driver described in the guides.
I get the following after selecting the "driver disk" :

Frankly I have tried all the drivers I can obtain most of them were referred in the above post, meticulously installing them in the device manager by various measures; manually and by executable files. None appeared to resolve the issue. Many websites when demonstrating installation of USB drivers in Win 7 includes Win XP as well. Consequently wading through several directions regarding the issue and eventually finding no resolution, decided to post the issue here.
Thank you again for the insight provided.

Does anybody know the reason why the USB drivers does not load in win XP? Or are there any archived Micromax E484 USB drivers for the OS Win XP?
Thank you in advance

Hello!
My intention is to flash TWRP to my stock recovery; after reading each of your previous post. Was able to download and install adb and fastboot devices and its drivers on my computer. This is operating till the command adb devices shows blank space.

Unfortunately, cannot find a suitable USB driver for my device. When I connect my Micromax canvas 6 Pro with Android lollipop 5.1 with my computer running WinXP and turning on the USB debugging option in the developers section, receive two yellow exclamation marks in the device manager----> Other devices-----> ADB interface? and MTP?

Have tried all these various USB drivers to be installed in vain. Obviously after extraction and entering device manager and proceeding through the various dialogue boxes to receive the message hardware was not installed.
1)ADB USB driver2.zip
2)Android CDC driver.zip
3)SmartPhone driver.zip
4)Android Vcom driver.zip
5)Universal Android Usb Driver.zip
6)AndroidWinADBUSB.zip
7)latest usb driver windows.zip
8)Intel android driver setup1.zip
None of these USB drivers fix the issue at hand. :crying:
My device Micromax Canvas Pro
Model No: E484
OS Version Android Lollipop 5.1
Stock ROM Not certain
Rooted Obviously with Kingroot V 4.9.6
Laptop OS version Win XP
Any instructions or help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Eventually a solution to the above issue was discovered
I must mention a special thanks and my heart felt gratitude to Butchtropic met at another site for providing this valuable information and a concrete resolution for the driver issue that I had faced till date. For 30 days and night was searching in vain for a driver that was compatible for my computer till near breakdown. All the advice that was followed painstakingly in this forum and elsewhere by going to the device manager and loading the drivers etc, etc with half a dozen of those same led me from one disappointment to another; some led me to disasters too.
This little tool conducts miracle and wonders "USB driver tool" google it. It took me less than a minute to configure the drivers between Win XP and my android phone. To append another merit, it is free to use. The communication is instant. This is posted if anyone like me cannot find the appropriate drivers to their phone or find the procedures stated in the earlier posts turns to be cumbersome or inconvenient will find this contraption ideal.
Once again my sincere gratitude to Butchtropic for sharing this concept and if you find this post helpful you know how to thank me.
Thank you
