Hello guys. I´m having trouble with my mega.. i hooked it up to my computer via usb. And tried to drag drop a few photos. But when i did this is said that targetfile was not found. And then the screen on the phone went black while a red pulsating light was on top. But i´ve tried removing the battery, charging it and so on. nothing works. any one of you guys that have had the same problem?
Sounds a bit weird, have you tried the long (15-30sec) press on the power button to reset?
Yes i have. I´ve tried booting it to download, recovery and i even helt the power on button for a minute or so. It refuses to power up. It really sucks. because now i have to go to a huawei u8800..
Unless someone else has a better idea I think you're going to have take it back to the supplier under warranty
Yeah. That´s what i think too. Thanks for the response anyway! i will update here if i get it fixed some other way.
Change the OP tittle to make people enter and help, try, "Mega 6.3 black screen and red led pulsing"

Umm what do you mean by "missing an OS"??
Hi Scott,
which XDA do you have? Do you get an error message when the device starts up? I don't know if this would help since the talk at this link is specifically about upgrading to WM 2003 from PPC 2002 and obviously you would need to have the previous OS on the PPC. However if you have an XDA I, this might give you a basis to work off of.

Have a look in the Wallaby FTP folder as well:
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Wallaby/
Good Luck
basically i bought it off ebay knowing there wasnt an OS on it, when i received the phone i cant turn it on, so how do i put the OS back on the XDA?
its an XDA PW10A1
Pressing the power button and doing a soft reset doesnt work, in fact nothing does, i cant get to the bootloader as the phone doesnt even switch on. The only thing i do notice is when i press hard reset the light near the headphone jack turns red. And sometimes the power light will flicker red, but thats all it does.
Ive got a memory card and I can write to it, if someone can help me get this thing back up and running i would be extremely grateful.

The symptoms you are describing are very similar to those that appeared on my PW10A2 recently.
Try the following:
Put it in the cradle for quite a period, say 15 minutes or so. If it comes up with some screen (whatever) take it out of the cradle, press the power on button while doing a soft-reset simultaneously. When it then comes up with the wallaby bootloader you may have good chances.
I managed (with the help of this forum) to get a new ROM installed from the SD by this method.
ok ill try that! thanks
how did you get the OS rom back onto the XDA?
Also could I be missing the Bootloader on the XDA itself?
ok i tried what you said and nothing works i dont even get a screen flicker!
i really need help as i dont have a phone at the moment and need it for work.

Hmm. Shot in the dark:
Blown fuse on the main board?
Does the LED get lit in any color when you put it in the cradle?
How long did you leave it in the cradle?
Do you have access to another cradle?
yeh i get the charge light when it sits in the cradle (orange light). plus i have two cradles n they both "appear" to charge it. Ive left the phone in the cradle for a whole day and nothing.
Did you do a cold reset?
Does it react (go on) if you press the on-button when it sits in the cradle?
Did you try the soft-reset+Onbutton (enter Wallaby boot loader)?
I'm no expert. I'm only repeating what I learned so far here in this forum
no mate none of those methods work either!
i aint got a clue whats wrong with it!!
Last night i fell asleep and my phone died all the way, and now when i plug it in all i get is a lg logo then it goes away and then a dark lit up screen. ive let it charge for awhile now and i still get nothing, i cant get into cwm either.. the phone is unlocked and rooted and im running the base rom. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Happened to me... leave it on the charger at least 3 hours and check it. The battery completely drains when you unplug the charger if you charged with the phone off. gl
Edit: If it still won't work, turn phone on and plug in charger.

This happened to me too. I completely drained the battery and it kept going into a loop (black screen, LG logo, battery screen). I left it plugged in and off and let it boot up.
FYI
This has happened to several people. I have confirmed through testing, even exchanging my phone 2 days ago that this is an issue created when unlocking the bootloader. Rooting does not cause it. Once the bootloader is unlocked, you can not get around this by re-locking the bootloader.
The workaround is simple. Either leave your phone on while it is charging or if you charge with phone off, unplug your charger and hit the power button- you will still see the charge animation running- this is what causes the battery to drain. All you have to do is power up the phone at least to boot then it is ok to turn off. You can confirm it worked by touching the power button again and not see the charge animation. Hope this helps.
Wow thanks so much for the reply and help! I've got it working now and I guess I'll just avoid it by not letting it die lol

well...
If you let it die all the way, its not a big deal. Plug it in, hold down the volume down button and the power button for 15 seconds, then it will work fine.
Threads like this makes this forum so great. Another potential problem to be avoided when using the phone.

I could use some help guys, if this thread isn't too old. I've searched high and low to the answer here and nothing is working. I've tried download mode, fastboot, recovery, reset, holding power down, plugging it in and unplugging it. I've pulled the plate off of the battery, tried LGNPST, drivers, etc. No go on anything.
The phone is still dead, and will not turn on. The best I've gotten is a solid red light after holding the power button for 15-20 seconds. Then after about 3-5 seconds it resumes flashing (alternating between the red light and the key buttons). If I continue holding the power button down it will repeat this, showing solid red and then reverting to flashing.
I can not get the screen to display anything, not even the charging animation, and none of my computers will even recognize the device. I've been messing with it all day and I'm stuck. If anyone can help me, at all, please do. I hate going to Sprint. Anything but that, please.

Hello to everyone in this Awesome forum, long time lurker here, first time poster. I have a vast experience flashing Roms on a plethora of devices From My Huawei Ascend/Htc Amaze and plenty more but today my Lack of knowledge has finally caught up and I flashed CM10.1 on my HTC One(M7) and it was working fine but until earlier today when my screen went off and it wont come back on... I called my phone and the call goes thru you can see the soft keys turn on but the screen stays off, now when I long press the power/IR button the soft keys flash many times but the phone doesn't Reboot it just keeps flashing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. and yes to the trolls out there I have been looking on the forum for around 3 hours and all I can find is HTC One X post... Thanks For the HElp
You need to hold down the power button for 10 secs and it should reboot. If not you can try to boot into recovery using adb on your computer.
If you still can't see your screen then try using this app called [email protected] on your pc to try and mirror your phone.

Thanks for the suggestions, ill post back if any of them work.
(Update) it seems my phone is not on adb debug so it wont work with the latter and when it comes to the power hold I've been holding for longer than a min and nothing happens... thanks tho
I had this same exact problem last night, I just plugged back into the charger(the one connected to the wall outlet) and the screen came back on and it asked for my SIM card lock passcode, after that then it rebooted itself, and has been working fine since.
Hope this helps

hi all,
i had same problem, it happened second time, after i finish phone call, screen can not turn on while phone is on, volume keys react, and there is sound from incoming call.
tried to reboot, tried to to enter to recovery mode, every time two led buttons at the bottom were on or blinking.
first time when it happened reboot (hold power button for 10 sec) helped, and second time nothing could help, after about hour it started to work again.
very strange, i changed version and waiting for results.
This is most likely an issue with the light sensor at the top left of the front of the phone..
I've noticed similar symptoms during calls.. but if you are near a bright light the screen will become visible.
Additionally.. i recently had an issue where the phone shut off and wouldnt turn back on.. i held a bright light to the light sensor and then held the power down along with Volume -/+ buttons and the issue resolved itself..
the light sensor...
I had the same problems with the screen... first it was happen randomly from time to time. Plug it to charging and blank screen. Not responding to hard buttons. And come up from alone. All this happen few times until today... Does not matter what you do, the screen remain black and dead. Start thinking for replacement of the screen(which is very costly and seems that need to be done by htc=$200).
The case: the light sensor working in kind of revers mode. Means when there is light screen is still shot off(the chip did not get the proper signal and "think" it is still dark) so the screen is out of power and all the hard button and soft as well are out of any function. Pressing the power button ends up flashing soft home and revers on the screen, same as described in the first post.
THE SOLUTION: take a led flash light(i used another phone flash light) and light the sensor in the upper left corner of the phone. If this is the problem the screen will immediately come on. Then press the power button and restart the phone to reset the logic signal to the chip and to have proper reading. NOTE: it is kind of hard to operate the phone and light at the same time the sensor with the flash light. If needed get some help but you need sensor covered with light until restart the phone, otherwise the screen will become black immediately.
GOOD LUCK,
My galaxy S3 is showing a very weird problem. I was using the phone and before reaching home the battery when completely flat. When I arrived home and plugged the phone to the wall charger the screen remains dark, black. Now the battery is full charged (green light) but the screen remains to the same estate. When someone calls me the phone rings. When I plug it to the computer I can see the files inside the different drives. I reinstalled the OS that is 4.3 but still same problem. I didn't drop the phone and It didn't have any shock.
That is weird. I am thinking of a dead screen but before going for a chirgucal operation on my beloved phone I wanted to ask if that couldn't be a software problem.
Happy to hear from your experiences.
Boot into download mode, volume down + home then power button. If the screen is dead in download then it is hardware.

never heard this type of problem
try to go into recovery and check if it displays anything
If successful do factory reset
In download mode i can see nothing. That is really weird. I am letting the battery drain completely and i will check. Thank you for your replies
I wanted to upgrade so far what i am getting. The screen while dark, black is reacting to touch actions: for exemple when i lock the phone with the power button i can hear the lock sound;when i unlock with the lide action on the screen, I can hear the unlocking sound. I think that must be a weird system problem. If the screen was broken will it react to such touch actions?
Lide=slide. I can actually take a call with the slide action on the screen. When someone calls me i just have to slide my finder at the proper place on the screen to take the call. I need help please.
Most probably its the hardware. Your LED seems to be ditching you. And yes a bad led can still response to touch despite of being black all the way. Actually it's the digitizer that responds to the touch NOT the LED itself.
In your cas3 so far from your feedback I can say that you are having a bad LED everything else including the digitizer is working well.

Hello...
My mother was using Samsung galaxy s6 edge.. Then she came to me and asked for help.. I looked at that and saw a blank screen with blue LED blinking... First thing i did was soft reboot (power+volume down) and did it for quite a while... Then I looked at some forums.. They said that hard reset would help and said to do power+volume up... I tried that several times and nothing helped... Screen was not reacting... Back button and app button were on and when i plug the phone in, it was charging... Sometimes the notification sound apears...
Phone has no physical damage and has nothing like unlocked bootloader, root, etc....
