[OFFTOPIC] Future features and development - HTC Desire X

As for a me I'm nothing special to this community. Yet...
I'm just wondering what people think, what kind if mods, features, Roms, and apps do you want to see our beloved desire x running.
Cake...

I can imagine this thread being closed after a few noobs or Pathetic Troll attempts. anywhooo it'd be cool to see a kernel with S2w or doubletap2wake or something similar (i know that people are looking into this.) Just so we dont have to go through Trying to get that stubborn power button to wake the device

Is that because of the kernel or the button, because PrototypeU's kernel has a bad power button response

You can do that in developer options

Yeah,i have to agree with neXus PRIME our priority is to get CM10.2 booting and runing stable.
As for me,i would like to see AOKP,PA 3+ and MIUI rom (cm as base). And maybe FIrefoxOS or Ubuntu Touch just of curiosity.
Other then that, everything that can contribute to our experience with DX is great.

I would like to have CM10.2 :good:

The one in my tutorial fully worked, well it used to. Somehow it doesn't work with me at this moment, but I can't test stuff because I use sense 5. (thanks Btw @ckpv5) Does it work on sense 4+?

Its not a bad idea but I can see how it would cause accidentally locking/unlocking. The Unlock button on my phone is a bit unresponsive so it would be convenient. The reason the EVO has it is because the unlock button is terribly stiff. The Amaze's unlock button is actually easy to press so its not too practical to implement it.
Got slide to wake on my wife's sensation. I live it and would love it on the amaze.

The kernel dev who has the over clock kernel in the general forum that I posted is the one whose team did slide to unlock.. drum up some support for him to continue development after he gets the overclocked kernel done, he is the one to talk to..

I have to press my power button way too hard to wake it these days, it is a simple feature, and I for one think it would be awesome.. and I have yet to see anyone have it efficiently wale their phone - you have to slide, in order, across all the soft keys. It just isn't gonna happen.

So would I! I was thinking earlier how nice that would be.. Bey, beautiful girlie.. maybe if you ask the kernel dev real sweetly he will integrate it into the kernel?
He was talking about buying an amaze in one of his latest posts in my thread to troubleshoot.. so maybe we will get lucky and we will get the full kernel. He posted a new build in the dev section that adds badass governor and some other awesome features, so we may be on our way after all..

Port of one v rom

I am looking to port my htc one v full sense Rom to this device and I will need people to test so only people who know how to logcat and stuff can test...
I will release 1-2 test builds to hopefully get it booting ...
Check this thread for updates!
Well if you check out android development, you'll see that we already have a ported full sense ROM but still it'd be nice if you made one too, so people can choose wich they want, so that we have more options

full sense implies: full rosie and widgets, all the lockscreens, cube animation, tabbed dialer/contacts, weather video and animations, 3d world clock/globe
sometimes roms advertise as being full sense when they arent...which leads to confusion amongst the end users

[WIP]TrickDroid Testers needed

Hey guys,
I've been porting TrickDroid for the Desire HD, but ever since I've updated, I can't get a logcat anymore.
So I will need some people who can test my ROM and give a logcat.
It still doesn't boot, so don't be scared
And if anyone can give me a tut on how to downgrade again, I'd really appreciate it
So as long as I can't base my ROM on the new update, I can't get a logcat. I will rebase my whole ROM on 1.18 when someone provides me a de-odexed stock 1.18 ROM.
PS: To test, you ofcourse need to have firmware 1.14
Link: TDTEST2.zip - 474.24 MB
Can't test, bro, I've upgraded, but I'll see if I can get you the deodexed stock base

MaartenXDA, I hate to tell you this. But the rom you put up isn't near close to booting.
Where you are missing it. Your phone has a msm7k board. You are porting a rom from a phone with a 7x30 board. You have to use the msm7k files in lib\hw from your phone. There ain't no way that you can use msm7x30. You use msm7k files and then you move libs from the Desire X rom to the TrickDroid rom to get things working.
I ported the desire x rom to the glacier which has a 7x30 board. It took 53 libs, 3 bins and 1 app to get the camera and video record and playback to work correctly.
But there is always light at the end of the tunnel! I put a rom together that should boot for you. If I didn't get to aggressive trying to get camera, video and sound working for you.
I'll PM you the link.
Doesn't boot, and yeah I just figured the msm7x30 stuff out, will be uploading a new test ROM in a couple minutes

The best thing to do then is use minimal files to get it to boot and then work on fixing stuff. Give me a couple of minutess I'll work on getting something together to get minimal boot.

I understand. I'm going to pm you a link to some files. Put those files in an untouched TrickDroid rom. What we are going to try to do is get it to bootup. If we can get it booting then we'll have to start swapping lids and bins to get things working.
Okay that'll probably work, thnx for helping out

Android 4.2.2 Hits The HTC Butterfly

Rumor has it that some features on the HTC ones sense 5 won't be on the HTC butterfly/DNA sense 5 update for example blinkfeed.
It literally says in the article that you linked that blinkfeed is included.
Only things that won't be included are things that can't be included, stuff like zoe and the TV remote.

We would need the source for the drivers, we can't get them from OTA's unless HTC decides to just release driver source we can't get that stuff or we would already have it.
