Is there anyone here using the White Galaxy S2 without any problem on AT&T media net plan? No flag to 2Gb plan?
My 1st one (it was sold.) was seen as blackberry on OLAM. Hope to get some info from here before buying another white one. I know Black one will work but I want a white one. Thanks a lot to all the white one users.
I actually opened a thread about this yesterday, I have a white s2 and it gets flagged as a blackberry. Today att is going to call me and see what could be done, I'm going to stick to my story that I'm using a nokia. I'll update my response after my call with them.
Sent from my White Galaxy S2!
Thanks florelui...Hope AT&T will work with you on that well. Good luck to you.
any news from AT&T?

Yes, I received the call from one of their customer service representative. She was asking me questions to try and make sure I wasn't using a blackberry or smartphone. I stuck to my story that I was using a Nokia and explained how three other att smartphones on our family plan have data plans like they should but that if my "Nokia" needed a data plan I would have already put one on. She finally said ok, and said that I would keep the media net plan even though it said I had a blackberry in their system.
If you stick to your story and feed them some crap they'll let you keep it. I'm just glad I get to have unlimited $10 data

Just got switched from the media net plan to the 2GB blackberry plan today. Called customer service and for some reason they actually have my old LG Shine on record instead of the BB 8300 shown on OLAM. The CSR switched me back to media net but who knows how long until it gets switched again.

I'd be interested if you could keep us posted if you ever get switched to the BB data plan.
I'd hate to have to call them every few weeks to fix it, but I don't want to give up this phone either.

I experienced the same problem and its extremely frustrating. I called atnt, they agreed to remove the 2GB data plan and re-add the $10 plan. Its just day one so I have no idea if the changes will be permanent or if it'll just revert to the outrageous 2gb $25 plan again. Will keep you guys posted at the end of the month if i remember.
Blackberry curve.... what a joke
White i9100.... why can't you be hassle free like your black cousin
I'm fairly certain that it will happen again once the next automated imei sweep occurs.
I did a test and it seems that once you stick your sim in, OLAM shows the BB 8300 almost instantly and does not reset to the unknown generic flip phone when I put the sim in my HD2. I have to manually select "Not my phone/device?" in order to reset it. I'm thinking that if the automated sweeps occur on a specified schedule, I can avoid the hassle of having to change plans by using my HD2 during the sweeps.
I'm still waiting to buy another white one...really dunno why the white one is seeing as Blackberry tho....are they going to see all the new unlocked phone as blackberry for the future?...thank you guys for the update, and please keep us in the loop.

Does anyone else notice that when a group conversation (MMS) is started, and AT&T recipients are included, that they won't get your message, but you can receive theirs?
Example:
My family mostly has iPhones, 1 is on sprint, rest are on AT&T. When they send a message in their group conversation (to which I am included) I get it, But when i reply, It sends to all, but The AT&T people don't get it. My Brother has the rezound as well and when he is in the same conversation, He gets it, as well as the person on sprint.
Anyway, if you have any suggestions, Or ideas. Please, Let me know.
Thanks!
Sorry I have not noticed this, mostly cause my whole family has Verizon and 3/4 of hubby's family has Verizon LOL
That would suck if it is true though!
I have a buddy with and iPhone on AT&T. It is sometimes days before he gets an mms from me. Sometimes he never gets it at all. I have noticed this but I thought it was just me. This happened to me on my ERIS. I don't know if it has happened on my Rezound yet though.

Yes, I sent a group msg to 4 people and the only one who never got it was my friend who has an iphone on AT&T. He also said his sister had to download the msg, she's on some sort of android phone, don't know which carrier. One of my other friends who got it is on a dumbphone on T-Mobile and the other is on a Moto Droid, don't know what carrier.
I sent an MMS to 5 people 2 days ago when I got my new 65" LED TV. I sent it to my dad who has an iPhone 4 on AT&T, my brother who is on my plan with an X2, my buddy who also has a rezound, my mom who is on my plan with the Dinc2, and my Girlfriend who has a wannabe smartphone from Metro PCS, everyone got it just fine.

Interesting ... I had the opposite problem. My friend with an iPhone sent a group MMS on Thanksgiving to a bunch of his family and friends, and the only way I knew about it was that some of the reply-all responses came to me too and I saw the list of numbers. I never got his original message.
My condolences to all that have family still on iphones. Maybe one day they will come to see the light.

lol, my dad's IT guy convinced him to get them for his entire company when they first came out(iPhone 4) and everytime I show my dad something on my phone he regrets the iPhone. The only reason he keeps AT&T is because the only place in the world Verizon doesn't have service is at his cabin in Irons, Michigan, he is there more often than here. Although, up there he is on Edge, lol. Once I go up and my phone works he will dump AT&T and Apple both.
Anyone getting this on their evo3d? I get these intermittently with people outside the sprint network but now I get them ALL the time on our family plan with my family.
That makes no sense on why texts are delayed for hours when we are in the same house or miles down the road from each other on the same sprint plan. Has this issue been identified and fixed yet?
I am rooted running Titan HD and my wife has a galaxy s2 not rooted.
Yes mine is delayed often. I have google voice and have to check the website periodically to see if I got a text that my phone hasn't yet received. Kinda annoying.
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
my messages are very often delayed. my friends call me and ask if i received their sms. kind of sad.
Call and ask they check your towers. I get that if I'm roaming. Also gingerbread ghostly sms is an app that pulls delayed or un received messages for you. I used it allot on my Evo, but haven't on my 3d..

I'm having the problem with my texts randomly not being sent until hours or days later. My phone shows the time I actually sent it, but google voice shows the time the recipient actually gets it. I don't know of its sprint or google voice, but it doesn't seem to happen with another phone on my plan that doesn't use google voice.

Does anyone have this problem that isn't on Sprint? Reason I ask is that I just bought this phone and I'm hoping I won't have problems. I'm in the UK by the way, on Vodafone network.
When my wife first got her 3D it wouldn't get most of text messages, just prior to that Sprint sent us an AirRave to try because we had extremely weak signal at our house, once we returned the AirRave the text messages worked ok on the 3D.
Still a no go. That ghost sms doesnt help much either

It is most definitely the Sprint network problem and Verizon's problem while roaming on their network. We may be able to roam but they definitely dont give our traffic or calls any sort of priority. If I am roaming I will not only have messages not sent or received but calls dont even go through and I will just get a notification that I have a missed call at some point.
A verizon phone on Verizon network doesnt have this problem and ATT doesnt have this problem (hasnt for years). Only Sprint and sometimes TMobile have these issues.
I have narrowed it down a bit. I send a text via the stock messenger and I go online to GV and the text I sent is not there.
If I send a text from GV or WhatsApp then everything works as it should.
There seems to be some sort of miscommunication between the stock app and pushing it to GV
I've been having this problem for about ten days, but I'm on a cdma hero with Sprint. I've had Google Voice for about 2 months, but have never used it for sending sms. I only got to this thread because I've been on google trying to figure it out...
happens to me every few weeks.
i have GV on sprint.
randomly people will tell me they suddenly got 10 or so texts and suddenly the recent chat we had the day or two before make a whole lot more sense.
and i also get the random texts that never arrive to me that i can see on google voice though
So a couple of days ago I disabled Google Voice to troubleshoot, and I haven't had a single problem with sms since... The issue (for me at least) is in Voice forwarding my texts (since it unfortunately integrates with sms as well). I do like Voice as my voicemail service, so I'm thinking I will try to re-integrate Voice with my phone to see if it functions properly. I may get around to it tomorrow, and I'll post back a few days after using it with results when I do.

Nope, but I'll keep an eye out and report back if I do.
It looks like an illegitimate phishing email to me.
A real survey from a company the size of T-Mobile would at least be sent with T-Mobile branding, sent from e-mail addresses at least made to look like T-mo, and ideally containing info T-mo has on file, like your phone number; this message isn't at all like other T-mo messages.
Anyone who has clicked through on this please let us know what you found!
I got the same email yesterday. I opened it but didn't take the survey. Something didn't seem right.
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using xda premium
I received this a couple days ago. Was bored at work so I went ahead and did the survey. It took about 5-10 minutes. Most of the responses were on a strongly agree to strongly disagree scale of 1-5. Examples of questions were what preloaded apps do you use the most? these were the T-Mobile mall, highlight and all the other bloat. There were a couple questions about what you would like to see in the replacement of the Amaze. Other questions were about the feature and which 3 are your favorites. Examples of the feature are the camera, watching TV/videos, video chatting.
It also asked if this is your first HTC phone, what other phones you considered and how satisfied overall you are with the device. When I picked somewhat dissatisfied it then asked why.
After completion of the survey, it mentioned that my answered met the qualifications for a longer 3 day study and if I was interested in participating. If I participate and complete the study I would get $50.

Smith Geiger is a legit marketing/research company. No reason to be scared of the survey as the information it is collecting is completely related to your thoughts and feelings about the Amaze, HTC, and TMobile. In other words, it doesn't ask/require any personal and identifying information to be submitted.
Thanks to tjamscad for providing us with a way to contact Verizon. I plan on emailing them every day until Unlock is available again. If we can get even a portion of this community doing this every day, they're bound to let it happen sooner rather than later.

I modified the HTC One X petition to fit our needs for the emails, as follows:
I am loyal Verizon Wireless customer and a proud owner of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. It is a beautiful device with powerful potential. All I ask is that Verizon allows HTC to issue unlocks to owners of the Droid Incredible 4G LTE that choose to unlock it.
This phone has the potential to be an excellent platform for development. I consider the ability to modify the software running on the phone to be an essential feature. The current inability of the Droid Incredible 4G LTE to accept custom firmware is already dissuading some from purchasing this phone, and even causing others to consider returning devices that they have recently bought.
Once purchased, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE is our property alone to modify if we choose. HTC CEO and President Peter Chou promised that all HTC Android devices launched after September 2011 can have their bootloaders unlocked if the owner chooses to do so. And here I am, asking for that promise to be fulfilled.
Unlocking the Droid Incredible 4G LTE helps the development community do what they want with their devices. By unlocking the Droid Incredible 4G LTE, HTC and Verizon are supporting open hardware and software, the way it was meant to be. Please respect our freedom to do what we want with our devices.
Please allow the bootloader unlock.

I sent an e-mail:
Dear Kevin Tillyer,
I am a loyal Verizon Wireless customer (since 2001) that has been struggling to cope with the locked bootloader on the HTC Incredible 4G LTE. I purchased this device at full price and I was looking forward to a new phone on which I could develop and expand functionality. My original HTC Incredible was terrific fun to use as both a daily driver and development device. Two days before my new phone arrived, HTC ended the unlockable bootloader availability for the Incredible 4G LTE. Their replies to my inquiries never said it directly, but it became quite clear that this had been done at the request of Verizon.
There is a growing community of users just like myself who place their faith in Verizon to serve them better than any other wireless carrier. One of the best ways Verizon could do this today is by giving HTC the green light to allow user development on the HTC Incredible 4G LTE. Given the lack of enthusiasm this phone is currently generating, an open development platform made possible by a simple bootloader unlock could give the phone a noticeable boost in sales. This is a win for Verizon and users alike! Additionally, customers like myself will be more inclined to stay loyal to Verizon and encourage others to join the most progressive wireless network in the world.
Please give HTC permission to make the bootloader unlockable on the HTC Incredible 4G LTE. Your help in this matter will be recognized by a great community and word will travel.
Sincerely,

Have any of you guys gotten a phone call from Verizon on this yet?? I did last night, a gal named Jennifer from Mr. Falco's office. He is the Executive director of the South region, even though I didn't email him, but I live in Texas, so that's probably why it got forwarded to him.
I did not speak with the lady who called, at the time I was unavailable, but she did leave her contact number for me to call and I do plan on calling her back today or tomorrow, however, I don't want to just say, "I'd like to root my phone to get rid of your bloat, so how about it"? I'd really like to be prepared as should you guys if you actually get contacted. With that said, can any of you put down here some dates and examples of Verizon phones that have gone this route, then been unlocked. I own the DINC and if I'm not mistaken when it first came out, it was locked, and then unlocked.
I also don't recall leaving my phone number, on there but I left my email, so they must of went by my name and pulled up my account, and called me from that, I guess.
You guys might look at that list and see where abouts you live and direct that email to your region director, because the ones we emailed may not be the particular person for each individuals area.

I'd mention something about wanting to improve the already great software on our devices. Appeal to Verizon, blame HTC for slow updates instead of them, even though we know better. Make them feel like you think they're the good guys so they'll help you.

I got a phone call from a person in the Executive Offices of Verizon in response to my email to Mr. Greg Haller. Unfortunately the guy called my cell number which does not work in my home (poor reception here). The person also sent an email with his contact number. I just tried to call him but got his voice mail. I'll keep calling until I reach him.
If anyone has any ideas about what to plead please post so I can relate our wishes. I did see the post about griping about HTCs lack of updates instead of complaining about Verizon.
Any other ideas or suggestions??

If anyone has any ideas about what to plead please post so I can relate our wishes. I did see the post about griping about HTCs lack of updates instead of complaining about Verizon.
Any other ideas or suggestions??

Hint around that you are thinking about checking out other carriers that allow unlocking ie sprint... That gets gears going

yes, i call them on that exactly today, told them i checked out sprint, he said someone down the road will figure out how to unlock it sooner or later, if history repeats itself. SO.
I got a call from Chelsea at the West Region office. We had a polite talk where I explained what can be gained. She gave me the standard lines about potential for users to be unable to connect to Verizon's network. She also asked if I had tried any third-party methods and I told her those efforts are in the works but haven't happened yet. She said she would pass on my concerns to upper management. Hopefully if enough regions hear the same thing we might get traction here.

I think the regional officer email is the way to get a callback.

Yeah, I got a call today while I was at work, went to voicemail, left a number for me to call back, but they didn't pick up. Left a voicemail and hopefully they'll call back tomorrow.
These all seem to be good addresses. No return contact yet. i will keep adding to the list of names.
