Can I root my xperia u and install cwm my way
1.flash b.1.100 firmware
2.lets it boot normally
3.flash b.1.10 kernel(how can I flash only kernel?)

Well you can give a shot to both kernel if one doesnt works you can try the other. And to flash only kernel, in flashtool exclude evereything except kernel and dont wipe anything
Cheers,

Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Well you can ask one of the XU users to send you the kernel.sin and then you can pack it as ftf(u can use my ftf maker tool) and finally flash with flashtool. It must work Someone correct me if I'm wrong
Cheers,
AJ

Yes u can reflash back to stock kernel using flashtool, and no u cannot backup running kernel, either stock or custom.

those are .ftf files, on those files i also found 'kernel.sin'(opening with winrar). so to go back in stock kernel would i hav to flash .ftf (in flashmode) or hav to flash kernel.sin(in fastboot mode)??
Since it is kernel.sin and not boot.img so u'll have to flash it using flashmode and you can see how it's done in the tutorial(link which I provided)....

yes u can go back to stock kernel....but ur cwm will be lost...
u can find the stock rooted kernels here....
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/41119?start=0&tstart=0
I flashed the generic ftf file via flashtool n i got stock rom+ stock kernel is it the right way? And what if i extract "kernel.sin" from generic and flash it with fastboot mode(as fastboot support flash .img & .sin),is this way possible?( In this way i can go back to stock kernel without loosing custom rom)
Sent from my WT19i using xda app-developers app
You can just flash the kernel.sin in flashmode and u'll not lose ur rom....(I think so)

3) ROOT using (Root withRestore by Bin4ry_v18) LINK : http://uploaded.net/file/0fpyh5c5
4) Now reflash the .54 kernel by checking everything but Kernel *DONT EXCLUDE KERNEL*

OK, you have to use the flashtool ( you could find it in this forum , one of the post at the top) to flash kernel.

I know what kernel is, but my USB port is broken.
u can flash kernel through the flashtool (most kernels are in .ftf file)
u need to be in flashmode to flash the kernel..
but if u want to flash it through the xrec or CWM there are some kernel in .ZIP file like the doomkernel..

Without a usb port, all you can do is to restore to your previous backup ( if you have backed up).
