Hello,
While watching a youtube video, the volume suddent cut down to about 5-10% and I could barely hear it. From here on out, I can BARELY hear who I talk to and they can not hear me at all. Forget Pandora, no sound at all even with headphones. In call I can BARELY hear with or without headphones. External speaker = no sound. I tried full factory image using odin and sextapes full md5. Even on first boot, the phone doesn't make its usual sound when displaying splash screens (so it's not a google setting).
Any suggestions? Or must be a board/chip issue?
Best route of replacement? I hear that Verizon replacement is faster than going through Samsung, but which route is actually better?
This really sucks, only had it three months.

No input? Interesting. I'd at least like to know if anyone else had the same problem...

I don't know, I mean Samsung might just repair your speaker and send you back your phone whereas Verizon will probably send you a refurb (which most likely will have ME7 on it). If I were you I'd send it to Samsung and ask nicely for them not to touch the software...
I just can't go that long without a phone. Verizon gave me a $10 discount on my bill and Samsung is sending me a complimentary mhl 2.0 hdmi adapter.
Crossing my fingers on the software being MDK.
Verizon replacement was vraum7 and had a broken earpiece speaker. Second replacement fully functional and is also vraum7.

Sorry didn't see your thread until today. Yes I had that happen 1 month after I got a brand new phone. The phone won't ring even the volume is up full (wife called and I didn't know....not good.). So I called Verizon for a replacement, then send me a refur that has a green tint on the upper left corner on the screen. The original phone start working again as the replacement arrived, waited a 2 days and it died again, so I keep the phone with green tint. Call Verizon and ***** again, they overnight another replacement. This one looks like it's a older HW revision as the label on the back looks different.
All this happened about 1 - 1.5 week after ME7 release, so both replacement were MDK.
If I were you I would call them back and ***** ME7 is buggy and see if they will do anything for you.
Good Luck.
I did. Actually I've been getting a lot of dropped calls and call out failure (with both of the replacements they sent on vraum7). The rep reached out to Samsung to see if they could downgrade me and it was a No. sucks, now I am in the same boat as all the people who bought with vraum7/accidental upgraders...

So I've had my S2 for a few weeks now and I've never had any problems up until now when my headphone jack stopped working for some reason.
I use my phone for music when I'm driving and I always connect an AUX cable to it and it worked flawlessly. Fast forward to last night, I'm leaving the gym and plug in my phone as I usually would, but this time I hear a weird thumping noise coming from the speakers... I immediately unplug it and plug it back in once again but the noise persists.
I head back home and I plug in the headphones I always use but when I turned on the music, it played through my speaker. I checked to make sure I plugged it in all the way, turn it on again to no avail.
Anyone know what's going on here? Is this a common issue with these phones? do I have to send it back to AT&T?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like bad hardware. If it were my phone the first thing I'd do is take it to 100% stock. If problem is gone then it was just software. If it still doesn't work, your phone is already to go back for a warranty exchange.
First I've heard of a headphone jack failing, with no water damage, on this phone.

Had this problem 2 phones ago. Csr will ask you to do a reset on your phone before any actions can be taken.

I just started getting this issue a couple of weeks ago. I took it back to bone stock and still nothing. I get the feeling it is the built in amp crapping out. I use mine for the same purpose, the aux input in my car. I always had to crank the phone volume to max so I could control it with my car's controls. Maybe the constant high output killed it? Either way I don't want to have to go without my phone even for a week or two.. :'(

They just sent you a replacement? Nice. I'm calling them later today. Hope my warranty isn't expired. I was just wondering if you thought it was the headphone amp or what.

I just got off the phone with AT&T's warranty guys and they are sending me a refurb to replace it. They asked all kinds of questions, but really I just needed the last 4 of the IMEI and whether or not the freaking moisture sensor was showing a color other than white ( I guess it turns pink/red if it gets wet). I already bought and used a jig on my device to make sure I didn't void the warranty. Hopefully that is all I need to do. Im going to go make sure so I don't get screwed when they get the phone.
Wow, you've got me scared now, I started to notice the thumping noise a couple days ago and since then I've had to plug my phone in and unplug it a once or twice to get the sound to work. I thought it was just a bug in the new ROM I'm running... Did AT&T send you a new phone or did you have to give yours up to get a new one? I don't think I can live without my phone for a week, it would be like removing my testicals or something :O
I've noticed that when I take a call and my phone is plugged in, the call quality is horrible and it sounds like the signal is cutting out really bad. I typically have three bars at home so that shouldn't have much if anything to do with it. When I unplug the charger from the phone, the call instantly sounds like it should and will immediately start cutting out again if I reconnect the charger. Before I exchange my phone (I'm still within my 14-day return period), has anyone else noticed this?
I can tell you that mine works fine on a call while charging.
I just got off a 10 minute business call with the A/C charger plugged in and it worked just fine.
No issues here.

Never had that issue. Might be getting odd interference.
The same exact thing happens to me while I have my phone plugged into a ubs powered power cord in my vehicle.

within 14 days, they will give you a new phone. otherwise, you would be looking at a refurb.
I took my phone in today and they swapped it out without much hassle. I explained I had done two factory resets (sort of true...one after unlocking the bootloader and then I had to reflash the RUU before I returned it) and the issue persisted. I also had an odd issue with one of my earbuds not always working. Sometimes I'd have to kind of push it into my ear and I'd hear a pop from it, then it would start working. Of course, they exchanged the whole deal for me. I haven't had time to test the call quality yet but I did notice I seem to get a better signal with this one and, on a side note, my volume buttons now have a nice sort of "click" to them where they felt kind of squishy, so to speak, on the previous phone. Minor thing but nice nonetheless.
I noticed the other day that when the volume on my phone calls exceeds about 2 thirds up the callers voice gets fuzzy / slightly distorted like a radio turned up to loud. I'm hoping this isn't symptomatic of a blown speaker. Can someone else test this to tell me if this is normal? My other phone is a blackberry z10 and it does not display this symptom so I'm fairly certain it's not a network issue. To test call an automated number I.e. a bank or credit card and turn the volume up incrementally. Again this is not in speaker mode (or less / barely noticeable do to the fact the bottom speaker also turns on and drowns out the top speaker). Just need to know if this is normal or I should exchange for a new one prior to my 2 week exchange window to not receive a refurb. Thanks a lot,
Andrew

Turned it all the way up and called my work voicemail. No distortion at all. I'd check to make sure that you have a decent signal first. If so, swap it for a new one
Thanks for checking... It seemed to get a little worse today so I'm going to call tmo tomorrow and try and have a replacement shipped out because they have no stock left at my local tmobile.

I droped my DNA about 1 month ago and the screen cracked, luckily the digitizer was fine but the glass was cracked bad. Then a week later I guess I was to "rough" with my DNA and I screwed up the digitizer. Al I could see was a black screen with some green and purple lines going on it. So I needed to get it replaced, it would cost me around $150. Everything was working, even the screen, I could still feel the vibrations of me trying to put in my passcode, in other words, it could still recognize me puting in touch inputs but I could couldn't see what I was touching. I put in my head phones to listen to music, and it was fine, the sound was clear and everything. 2 weeks later I go to the repair shop to get it fixed, they put on a new screen and it looks brand new. I get home and I notice the side of the screen is messed up because when I try and press the q button on the keyboard it types the lettet w. So as hard as I try to type the letter q, it won't work. Sadly, I didn't test out my earpiece or the headphone jack. Now I take it back and they order a new LCD and digitizer. I come back in a couple of days so they can put it on the screen works fine. The next day I try to call one of my friends but I notice there was a problem. When I call the screen goes as normal, but when I take the phone away from my head, the screen doesn't come back on. No matter how hard I tried to get it back on, it would get back on. Worst, the earpiece didn't work. I couldn't hear anyone in a call, they could here me but I couldn't here them. I take it back to the repair place, they order like 10 earpieces but it didn't fix the issue. Now they are saying that the problem is my motherboard. So at this point, the only things that don't work are the proximity sensor, the camera because I get an error (cannot connect to camera error), the earpiece, and the headphone jack because its all staticy when I try to watch youtube videos. Yes I have tried many many headphones but the problem keeps persisting. I forgot to mention that my doubletap2wake doesn't work or my sweep2wake. A couple of days later the guy who owns the shop says the problem is the motherboard. I try to get my money back but I had no luck. What do guys have to say? I came in for one problem to get fixed, then I get another. Worst of all my phone just shuts off at like 50%. I can't restart it or anything, I have to connect it to a charger in order to turn it on? What do you guys have to say? They said that when you open up the phone, the pins that holding things in place break off and people get these issues. Sorry for this being so long.

Sounds like they messed it up bad when they put it back together. What repair service did you use. It might not even be worth bothering with the phone anymore it sounds like they messed it up when they were in there fixing it. Make them fix the entire thing or make them get you a new phone. Judging by how many problems are present you may as well just get a new phone.
Please press the thanks button if I have helped you in anyway.

Nope, warranty expired a couple of months ago. The weird thing is, my friend stepped on my phone at school, then when I turned it over, it wasn't cracked and what is more bazzar, everything was working fine, the dt2w, the s2w, the earpiece, the proximity sensor, the camera. Then an hour later, those things were back to not working again.

Anyone else having people you call tell you they can't hear you in the middle of conversations? I can't find any correlation. It has happened with 3 different calls today. All in different locations, but not in the car.
I'll normally reposition the phone on my face and it will correct. Is it possible I'm covering the Mic with the Palm of my hand?

Bought my g3 in Berlin, using it in Israel...
I am having this issue. issue is fine when the phone is directly to ur ear but if u adjust it or have it a couple of inches away it is horrible.
been testing all day. speakerphone doesn't have this problem.
leave a fake message for urself and u can hear the problem
take the phone and talk into it like a hand radio in normal to low dialogue. while doing it change between speaker and handset talk at the same level.
Anyone ever find a solution to this? I'm still having the problem. Wish I had returned the phone the first time it happened, but I thought it was just a bad signal. I went back in to Best Buy where I bought the phone and they were zero help.
Other threads mentioning the problem:
http://www.reddit.com/r/LGG3/comments/2bmljy/verizon_lg_g3_terrible_call_quality_and/

Welcome to the club
Has anyone had any feedback from LG/Verizon on this?
I called both and was told "they hadn't heard of the problem" which I don't believe.
Anyone get a fix or has a replacement phone fixed the issue?
Yes - I'm still suffering with this issue.
I have been using speakerphone lately and have not had a single complaint. As previously noted, using a BT headset works fine every time as well.
This leads me to suspect that the noise cancelling/voice enhancement circuitry is running amok because supposedly speakerphone and BT do not use that feature, even though the one selection I have on my phone is off I think the phone still uses some enhancement when using the stock mic.
Next step is to block the mic on top with a piece of foam and see if that fixes it. By blocking that mic, the phone will think it's in a completely silent from ambient noise setting and maybe will turn off the noise cancellation circuitry.
Food for thought.
I don't know if I can prove it, but the problem feels worse (more people tell me they can't hear me) with the quick circle case on. It still happens with my other case and with no case at all, but less.
Has anyone who has this issue received today's OTA from Verizon? If so, is the problem still present for you? I will have a chance to test myself tomorrow.
I received the update yesterday and have not had anyone complain of call quality yet but I have not made a lot of calls. It is encouraging though because I would get complaints on most calls. I'll give it a few days and see before proclaiming it's fixed.
FWIW I was using an Otter Box and am now using an LG Circle case but it fails with/without the cases. IOW case made no difference.
I have my fingers crossed that it might be fixed.
I do notice the phone seems quicker with the update.
I made two calls on my Vzw G3 today, using only the handset (not speakephone or bluetooth), and both callers said I sounded fine. One call was about 15 mins, and one about 5. My fingers are crossed that it is fixed, too. I really don't have any other complaints about this phone, and there isn't one I would rather be using right now.

Unfortunately I updated a few days ago and I had the problem last night on a call. So frustrating.
So only one complaint and I think it was due to a poor coverage area. I would get complaints all day long and every day so maybe, just maybe, they fixed it.... Still not convinced but feeling positive about this issue.
Today out of 7 calls so far I have had one person tell me they couldn't hear me. Re-positioning the phone closer to my mouth so my ear was more on the glass and not the speaker hole fixed it.
It's better than it used to be but might still be having problems.. Time will tell.
As an update, the problem is still there but it does seem better. Maybe 3 out of 10 calls will have the person on the other end telling me they can't hear me, breaking up, under water etc.
I've about had it with this phone and Verizon and I'm real close to putting it on Swappa and moving on to another phone and maybe another carrier.
I have been cautiously trying voice calls on the handset, but really got used to carrying Bluetooth headphones around over the last few months.
I have had 2 calls in maybe 8 where the caller complained, so about the same ratio as you.
I still don't want to switch to a different phone. I am not convinced I want a moto x or that I am ready for the size of the nexus 6.
Verizon sucks, but I need the strong network.

I really believe the issue is the G3 on VZ. My spouse switched to the iPhone 6: no issues with voice calls, with same usage as with the G3. I prefer Android phones, so I haven't decided what to do yet.
My wife has an iPhone 4 and before my LG G3 I had a Droid Razr Maxx. Neither phone has this problem. Same number of calls, same locations etc. All the complaints I have seen involve the G3 on Verizon so it's probably something to do with Verizon's version of Android.
