my wifi can't find my home network
i can't do anything without wifi, it sucks, it finds some nearby ones, but except home

I hate to be a Douche but please post non-development threads in the general section.
but as for your questions make sure your Router is broadcasting the SSID.
also type in
*#*#info#*#* and go to the WIFI settings and mess around in there.
Also make sure your home wifi is broadcast on the 2.4ghz frequency. 802.11a and 802.11n networks, although supported on the xperia on the 2.4 channel, also work on 5ghz channels but your phone will not.

[Q] X10 wifi SCANNING - DISCONNECTED loop! HELP!

Router information: Linksys Wireless-N WRT120N
I have done everything that i could think of to get this working. i have done several google searches and they all say to do specific things.
For example:
-Reset router
-Enable B/G only or G only set at channel 11
-turn off router firewall settings
-and a bunch of other random sh*t
i have done all of the above then some and i still cant get it to connect. all i get is *scanning* then *disconnected* thats the only two things it says. except right after i reset the router. every time i reset the router i get * obtaining IP yadadada* then goes to *disconnected* then back to the "scanning, disconnected" loop.
there have been some people that have said flashing a custom firmware on the router would fix the issue with mobile connectivity on Wireless-N routers.
please someone be helpful with this and please dont tell me i need to reset my router. i have asked this same question on several forums and the only replies i get are "if you reset the router and turn off security it WILL work fine" thats bull****. im not an idiot. thats the first step any computer literate person would take before asking questions.
How close are you standing to the router? Try standing right beside it and see what happens.
My problem is if I go out of range of the routers signal it disconnects and goes into the same scanning/disconnected loop you're talking about. Then I need a restart to get wifi again.
Maybe your router has a weak signal?
Just something else to try while you're waiting for more ideas.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Perhaps try backing up and flashing a new ROM if there's nothing wrong with your router or signal.

[Q] App to Bypass or Find Wifi Proxies

In my college, there are several Wifi networks but when i connect to any of the wifi network, either it doesn't connects or if it connects, internet doesn't seems to work. I asked them and they told that they have enabled something like proxies. But they are not sharing the proxy with the students.
Is there any app or any tweak which allows to connect to these Wifi networks without proxies or is there any way to fetch the proxy from the network ?
I have Galaxy Mini, CyanogenMod 7

Internet wifi on XXDLH6

"I also update modem to DLH6, didn't help. The workaround is to change Wireless LAN mode in my router from "n" to "g". Now my phone can connect to WiFi and internet.
Maybe this also answered why some people have WiFi problem, and others don't"
For the last time. WIFI IS NOT MODEM RELATED!!!!!!!!!!
WIFI stuff is probably kernel related.
And yes it seems to be a problem with WIFI and DH6. It's extremely slow.
change your router WPA/WPA2 protection in WPA only.
it works perfectly :good:
sorry for my english

Click to collapse
Possible you have to expect stuff to not work for some as its always been the case for every leaked beta test build firmware .

"connected but no internet"

Suddenly, my rooted NT is constantly giving me the message "connected but no internet". Every other device on my home network is working fine. Anyone else have this issue or know how to resolve it?
I'm sorry, I hadn't read the rules about not posting questions in this section.
