That thing you said doesn't even make sense. He's asking about IMEI loss, which no rom should lead to. And what's with that official thing? We have plenty of stock based bugless roms.

Corrupted IMEI when flashing Samsung JB ROMs

It happened when I flashed the first leak, now it happened with the "official" ROM
I have a backup of my efs so I can recover my IMEI everytime I flash the JB ROM but! I can't recover my imei while using the rom, only when i change to another ROM I can restore the EFS folder.
I've tried many Samsung JB ROMs even tried Odin and nothing. I just get my IMEI corrupted and I have no mobile data, I just have Emergency calls.
Any idea of how to fix this?

You see this is why people refuse to do search because its easier for them to just spam forum, not use search and wait for somebody to search for them like yourself. These people miss things they could learn on the way.
You may think you're been helpful but you're really not.
I've done the recover imei in 9 steps many times before, like I said l, this isn't the first time my imei gets corrupted. But it doesn't seem to work on Samsung ROM for me, I only can restore my imei after putting an aosp ROM, and it's weird how my imei gets corrupted every time I flash a Samsung jb ROM but when I flash an ICS Samsung ROM or AOSP nothing happens.
But yea, the point is that my imei gets corrupted when using a Samsung jb ROM and I can't restore it like I usually do. I do read and I couldn't find a way to fix it that's why I made a thread, I'm not a spammer in any way.

You can use another app to back it up, like HC kTool.
I've got like 3 EFS back ups, can't hurt.

Have you tried manual way. ??

yes, had spent much time with terminal to restore IMEI but nothing works, but after flashing cm10.1 roms, IMEI is back
fyi, my latest efs backup was from ICS
fyi once more, /efs is restored, but ROM (samsung jb only) didn't read IMEI, so no baseband and signal

Have you tried z3x? ? Or just copy and paste the efs files? Have you tried on say neat Rom? That's 4.1.2 custom firmware.
wont make a difference weather you Bk up efs on 4.0.3 or 4.1.2 .
All the same

just copy and paste never works for me. I had lost IMEI since ICS and able to restore it whatever the ROM was, by using this method or HC kTool. But now, only on samsung JB roms (both stock and custom) no method works.

yes. neat, chameleon, alliance, and stock give me same result: /efs restored but still no IMEI, baseband, and signal
Have you tried Bk up on cm10.1 and restore with that Bk up on jb rom? Don't delete your Bk up you have now whatever you do but id try that
Edit. Or an old nandroid Bk up ..restore that may help.
sent from my I9100 Alliance v8
Yes, had tried that once, and same result: /efs restored, no IMEI, no baseband, no signal
unfortunately, I have no more old (ICS and below) nandroid backups
I think I find out why, after reading http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881304
my modem is from 4.0.3 but my firmware is 4.1.2 or 4.2.2
edit: after using firmware, modem, and RIL of the same version, now everything works normally

[Q] Need help on my Ace(i) (Factory wipe, boot screen)

Hello guys, I'm new to this forum.. So I was searching the general help for s5830i phone thread, and didn't find the answer so my problem is that I can't turn on my phone, whenever I press the turn on/off button it just shows me this text: Samsung GALAXY Ace GT-5830i then it goes off and then it shows me the same text again. I did try to factory wipe it, but when I try, it starts, it "factory wipes it" for about 1-2 minutes then it goes off and the same text again. So my phone is 832 MHz CPU if that matters or not, I think it has ~250 ram, I can't be for sure, since I can't turn on my device. If You have anymore questions, write in the comment section, I'll try to help you as much as I can.

[Q] Galaxy S3 - Android revolution V32 - How to fix signal problem ?

Hello everybody,
I don't know if I am in the right section to post but I can't post something on the topic for the android revolution rom.
I was on a stock rom XEMG4 and I install the android revolution V32. I think the Rom is perfect but useful for me because I have no signal !
I've put everything in the APN.
I don't know how to fix it ?
Sorry for the English I'm from Belgium.
Thx for help
Please check your IMEI no. If it is the same as of the one on the box. and did you flashed older modems?...

that's actually downgrading you have done! the EFS versions do no match and hence no signal. go through the link under my signature!
I have done a mega wipe so I think I loose my efs and don't have done a backup.
I reinstall a stockrom and with this one no problem of signal but when I reinstall the Android Revolution ROM no more signal...
Do I install Android Revolution and after flash the EfsV2 on my SGS3 because I'm on a EMG4 stock rom ?
I root my phone and install es explorer and i see that i have a file efs but nothing in.

I don't think so, I just install the rom like explain in the tutorial of phonandroid (French site)
what happens is the ROMs after MG4 changes the EFS partition format so the older roms cant read efs partition if you roll back to older version of the roms. that is the only thing I can think of... Or otherwise your phone might be SIM locked to another network...
I flash the modem for XEMG4 and now it works fine

Faqs and guides .
Problem is what >> apps are not working ??
The post from start to finish reads as you have flashed firmware for another model on the phone .Apps have nothing to do with original firmware .
Stock 4.3 ????>>>>> not a Samsung firmware .
bartely use any apps becouse im on a "custom firmaware
>>>>Apps work on custom firmware unless you are trying to run Samsung apps on non Samsung based custom roms .
Start at the beginning what model phone do you have as per the label under the battery .
If I9300 then remove ext sd card and flash a proper Samsung stock rom through Odin . You should then be able to flash Philz recovery .
Boot to recovery mounts and storage format sd card system data cache and preload .
Boot to download mode flash stock rom via Odin see faqs and guides for the return to stock for warranty post

[Q] no signal after going from omega v58 4.3 to Omni based v5.0 4.4.4

Hi
I am new to roming so please be gentle
I have Romed using clockworkmod v6.0.4.7 a S3 I9300 phone using S3 I9300 Samsung based Omega V58 4.3 and all worked fine, signal good, wifi good.
Baseband version I9300XXUGNA8
Kernel version 3.0.31-2454463
Build number Omega v58 – XXUGNB6
Thought I would update to kitkat 4.4.4 so downloaded S3 I9300 AOKP v2.7 4.4.4 and also Omni Based v5.0 4.4.4 to the phone and booted into clockworkmod
wiped data / factory reset
wipe cache partition
installed rom and rebooted, but now I have
no signal
no network
no mobile network type
my phone - number is unknown
IMEI - number is unknown
is happens on both of the new roms.
restored my backup to Omega v58 4.3 and all is working fine again, so do I have to install a modem? And if so how do I fine the latest or an I doing some think really silly.
I'm in the UK and on Virginmedia carrier.
Thanks

The problem that is see it now is that the rom can't read the sim card for some reason?

Do you mean install new rom, then copy over the backup efs folder to the newly rom phone?
Thanks
Andy
I have no Idea why, but can happen sometimes.
You should search for the Modem files here in XDA (of even Google), the file will vary depending of you contry and mobile operator.
After that, flash it in CWM and test if your signal is working.
If you live in Brasil I may have the file here.
I almost forgot! Flashing a proper stock rom for your country using Odin, probably will restore your modem confs.
Best regards
What rom have you got now? If you have Omni or AOKP, restore efs folder from previous backup otherwise flash new rom and after restore efs folder
