I bought my 10.1v at Vodafone Netherlands. (HC 3.0.1 HRI83.BUKD9)
There is no option for me to choose my own language.
I recently read about the build.prop in a recent thread and I decided to check mine out.
It says:
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US
region=US !!
I have no understanding of this Android stuff whatsoever but could I have a problem updating to 3.1 + Touchwiz.
Could you post what your build.prop is saying and what country your in?

ps Not sure if this is true but I read about people who bought their 10.1v in Germany, that they could select Dutch as language.

Hi Yes i have tried this ROM and works fine. I upgraded from DQ5 and surprisinly didn't lost any data, contacts or settings. After upgrade i didn't do wipe data in recovery mode. Also one more thing KIES says that it can't upgrade this version of firmware. Is KQ6 an official version from samsung ?

No it does not void your warranty its an official samsung india firmware if anyone buys a new ace in india now he gets this firmware so though the link is external it is an official rom my friend recently bought an ace and he has this firmware i personally find it much better than KQ5

Connect your phone to kies and go to the firmware option
is this a one file or 5 file package

Do u notice any changes ??
I updated yesterday to ddkq6 from kies..the phone feels a bit snappier and fast...thats it...till not i have not figured out any changes...people please share if they find out something different

and i want to know why when you call someone who is already on call with gingerbred the phone tell you "you call is waiting" and now with this rom ics it doesn't work
someone know why ?
is it a parametre ?

you have to enable call waiting manually , goto settings -> additional settings in your dialer and enable it
I would like to know if someone here know how to set default CSC on JB custom ROM.
I know this can be done by changing the CSC sales code by keypad.
Normally on custom ROM after flash from CMW we see the JB startup wizard to guide first time boot the phone.
My question is how do I change selectable by default? on language and location and press next to continue?
On build.prop it self I already change
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=GB
But it seem doesn't work, it always pointed to different language & region.
Any particular files need to change on this?
Their is no default CSC there are multiple CSC.
CSC is not a sales code and it has nothing to do with language or setup .
If you mean the CSC that came with your original firmware then just change the CSC in the custom rom with your original one .
Build prop must have matching language in the rom etc .

No what i meant is I want to change my custom rom/firmware to my preferred location and language.
I'm trying to modify custom firmware here with cmw flash enable, odex.
Did you see the screenshot on my first post? I want that change to English (UK) by default, how can I modify on the rom? Is it on xml file? Which xml file?

There are 5 files on the root of system partition... You will need to replace them..I don't remember the names off hand but can tell you if you want to..

I'd like to ask that if anyone ever has language changing problem.
Here's My Last System :
at first I bought I9200 device with XSE XXUMAEE firmware and I rooted without problem also my language was set into English ( U K ),
before upgrade to XSE XXUBMJ4 my default language always stay at English ( U K ). After I upgrade into XSE XXUBMJ4 my default language sometimes changed into Indonesian Language, when I changed into english ( U K ) again and I try to restart or shutdown and when it start its language changed back to indonesian. Please help, This condition really annoying. I ever try to rollback into XXUMAEE again and my XSE XXUMAEE also experiencing language problem, always changed into Indonesian. PLEASE HELP ANYONE. :crying:
Did you try clearing you Dalvik cache and set permission in your recovery after you installed the update as that might help..unless you phone is not rooted as I don't remember if the stock recovery has those options..but worth a try.
